Our son has finished up his 2nd year at Frankford Middle School and we’ve had such a good experience so far. We have seen a marked improvement since our start here. We value the offerings of a large district with smaller class sizes on the campus. Principal Vargas and his team are available and involved in the parent community and the students daily lives. The teachers and staff have been fantastic and responsive when we have questions or concerns. We’ve also met some great families during our time and can't wait to see what happens in our son's journey here.

Our daughter is wrapping up her time at Frankford Middle School and heading to Shepton High School, and we’ve truly had such a great experience here.

The teachers and staff have been wonderful, and Principal Vargas is hands down the best — always engaged, visible, and involved with the students and parents.

We’ve also met some really great families during our time at Frankford, which made the middle school years even better. I’ve always told parents that you get out what you put into a school community, and that has definitely been true for us here.

We’re grateful for all the memories and already looking forward to our younger daughter going through Frankford one day too!

Our family has been very happy with Frankford Middle School this year. All the teachers my child has had have been very strong and have challenged her academically. Their administrative team seems to have put together an excellent team of staff and focused on growth among all students. I understand many of the teachers have been at this campus for 10+ years and bring a lot of experience with them. We have seen huge improvement in our daughter's growth and scores since she started here in the fall. Love that it is a smaller campus with smaller class sizes. We have also met lots of new families who are very engaged and involved with the school. The PTA does a lot for the students and teachers, with good volunteer opportunities for parents to stay connected. Overall, we have been very pleased!

This is our first year at Frankford, and we have been beyond pleased! I went in a little unsure about the transition to middle school, but the teachers and staff have been amazing, the communication has been wonderful, and my daughter has made lots of new friends. I have enjoyed getting to know the other families as well and have volunteered at some of the events throughout the year. It has really exceeded my expectations in every aspect!

Office staff is the worse. They dont help and are very rude. I do not recommend this school. Stay fair away from this school if you want your child to get a decent education.

My son is having a very positive experience at FMS and we have appreciated all the efforts from our new principals to address any behavioral concerns. He has loved being in band with Mrs. Pipak, has enjoyed being in Mr. Rooklidge’s class, who just won Secondary Teacher of the Year for Plano ISD, for the last two years and has enjoyed Avid and Spanish along with his other classes. (So glad to earn a high school credit in 7th grade!)

My son doesn’t participate in athletics but I know those kids have a great time with the games and being on the teams. Our school has a diverse population and while we don’t always appreciate some of the challenges a handful of kids create, it hasn’t hindered my son’s success. Middle school is a unique time with kids trying to adjust to the new academic demands and all those physical changes that happen. It’s a lot of change and a lot of growth!

FMS also has an active PTA that supports fun events throughout the year with Spirit Nights, Soar Store for student behavior incentives, Falcon Feast to make lunch fun with food, candy and soda sales that support the school, Fall and Spring socials and much more!

I’m looking forward to seeing the new track that is being installed over the summer. It will be great to have at our school!

Looking forward to a great 8th grade year.

My son is finishing up 6th grade there and it's been a good experience for him. His teachers are good and accessible for tutoring when needed. They want to see him succeed. He does band as well which the band teachers are awesome even though prior to that he really didn't express any interest in playing an instrument but now it's one of his favorite classes. His math teacher seems overqualified to be teaching middle school. There is a new principal there and he's engaging with the students and parents. We heard a bunch of horror stories about the school leading up to my son going to school here and it hasn't been anywhere close to what we had heard. My son is excited to start playing school sports in the fall.

Zero resources. Fights everyday. Unless your kid is in all honors classes, the environment is not conducive to any level of learning. Teachers are satisfied if “they pass” versus pushing a kid for As and Bs because passing has become the goal here.

Teachers here bend and twist, to meet each child where they are, and do everything in their power to help the kids succeed. Principal Schulte AND her Vice Principals are the best there are in education.

It seems this school is known for having a bad reputation. My child’s 5th grade teachers warned students that they were about to enter a pretty rough school and it couldn’t be more true. My child has been enrolled going on 3 years now and this year can’t end fast enough. Some of the teachers can be nonchalant about helping students improve. The students are terrible. They have no compassion, integrity or respect for classmates or staff. Last year they made a teacher cry. They steal everything possible, they’re unkind to one another, they constantly use profanity, they make out in the classrooms, they gather in bathroom and block the sinks, they fight, the bus drivers have no control. He’s had to drive the bus back to school for help a few times because the kids were out of control. The coaches are not helpful. Most things are stolen during PE. Nothing is ever done. They should install cameras everywhere at this school and actively monitor them. The bathrooms have dried nasal mucus on the walls and locker rooms aren’t clean. Cockroaches were everywhere this year.

2016-2017 was my sons first year at Frankford and he will not be back. The list of reasons is much longer than i have time to detail. I will also note that the schools coaches are unethical encouraging kids to play thru serious injuries and trying to convince parents to allow students to play despite unacceptable grades. It has not been a great experience at all. The teachers are nonchalant about progress and they do not support or encourage all of the students. It's disheartening to a parent who is trying hard from the outside to trust that my child will receive the best education and support where he spends the majority of his day. Not returning.

I have 2 kids in this school. They love it. Frankford has a very active PTA and school administrators are very active and involved. Like any school, public and private, they deal with a variety of issues and some teachers are better than others. Principal Holden and her staff are excellent and seem to understand student needs and responding to the demographic changes in the school. Would stack up this school against any others.

Changes in the demographics of a school, neighborhood, workplace etc are a part of life. The negativity can come from both sides of the fence, new people and the people who were there before. My daughter attended Frankford for the first time this school year and she really like it. Have I heard about some negative comments from other students...yes. Were they racial..yes. Does my child let "stupid people" as she calls them, bother her..no. As far as the school parking lot, automobile accidents are due to people who can't drive and who are not paying attention. I've seen the mad house of parents who are only thinking about their cell phones and their children and no one else. The school should not be held liable for the ignorance of grown-ups. By the way, I've seen all races of children in that school sagging their pants. I deplore that trend but I realize that it is not centered around one race of people, nor is arguing with a teacher.

Parents who are considering sending their children to this school deserve a truthful and factual description of the environment that this school, or any other school that they may consider sending their children to, provides. This year there has been a change in the demographics that is negatively affecting the school. Classroom environments are starting to suffer as teachers (and students) are increasingly dealing with a larger segment of the student population who sag their pants, argue with the teachers and who won't do their work. There have never been fights before this year; now, there are. Due to the increasing enrollment at Frankford, the hallways are more crowded and there will soon be automobile accidents in front of the school, if the administration continues to ignore the situation. Even though the social climate has somewhat improved (more students of different ethnicities dancing at the spring social) racial division still exists. These problems can only be corrected if the staff is willing to acknowledge that there is a problem, instead of denying that it exists, by censoring comments similar to this one, that have been previously posted.

This school is FABULOUS! The staff is excellent dealing with students. There are some snobby kids but they work with them well. Areas that might need some changes would be the tutoring. Overall this school is wonderful! I have a child going into 8th grade and one going to be a 6th grader. I'm a little nervous because they will be changing principals but I know it will ALL work out!

I was a seventh grader at this terrific school. I'm moving, and I'm very sad. This was one of the great experiences of my life. The exterior is nice, but basically the same layout of any of the other middle schools in the district. Our incredible school could use some money for a facelift for the basketball courts in the tennis courts and the football field. In the inside, it is as welcoming as can be. We have exceptional athletic, fine arts, and academic programs among other clubs. It is very easy to make friends and the teachers are very understanding. God bless this school.
