This school is the worst school ever trust me Prosper High School has been one of the worst educational experiences my child has ever had. The teaching quality is shockingly low. Many teachers either cannot teach or simply choose not to. Their explanations are unclear, their support is minimal, and students are expected to figure things out on their own.
The AP Human Geography class is the perfect example of how broken this place is. The teacher was gone for an entire month, and instead of providing real instruction or sub plans, the school just tossed a major test at students who had learned absolutely nothing. A nearby teacher appeared for a few days, then disappeared. That is what Prosper calls education.
Safety at this school is a joke. Students are left feeling vulnerable, and when issues happen, communication is vague or nonexistent. It feels like the school cares far more about its reputation than protecting kids.
The grading system is a complete disaster. There is zero consistency, zero fairness, and zero accountability. Grades can tank at random with no explanation. Assignments are disorganized and handled carelessly. It feels like students are punished for the schools own failures.
My childs academic confidence and performance have suffered because this school refuses to do its job. Prosper High is more focused on bragging than actually teaching or keeping students safe. Families deserve better than this mess.This school is completely miscommunicated, and no one seems to know what is happening at any given time and every students fails there classes literally no joke.

This is overall an okay school. The 7/10 rating on great schools does best describes my experience as a student at this school. In terms of academics, the teachers do try their best to explain the concepts but they don't spend much time to ensure that the concept 'clicks in' for a student. Additionally, as a new to Prosper ISD student and a new student to this school, I find that the teachers are very welcoming to new students, an example of this is that the counsellors set up a new student meeting so that we can find other new students, meet them, and make friends. Also, unfortunately on the other hand the students and peers are not that good, kind, or welcoming. In my biology class, I've seen students fighting, pulling down each other's pants, and using foul language when the teacher isn't there and they act without integrity in all of my classes, also, there are people using foul language and pushing each other inside restrooms, which doesn't make me feel so safe just to even use the restroom or avoid trouble in class, which describes my safety rating. Overall, this is an okay school, with average teachers and good courses to challenge yourself, but just be aware of your surroundings and stay safe from peers.

Horrible school and management. Big miscommunication in what they say and what their policies are. No dress code is followed. Campus is great; everything else is dismal. Even the band and cheerleading is so average. This is the only school district that has disappointed us (speaking from experience of attending seven school districts). You will have to look at resources out of school if you want to ace your academics. Some teachers mentioned how financial circumstances forced them into teaching. If you have the resources and the option to go to a different school (maybe even school district), please do your kid a favor. Kids are nice- no bullying experienced/witnessed.

I advise parents to steer clear of this school and the theater department in this school. I regret enrolling my daughter in Prosper High School.

I/she/we unknowingly made the mistake of allowing her to take theatre classes and she has gone from a consistent straight A student to barely passing. Theatre has become her ONLY focus and there is no encouragement to do well in core classes. The students are pulled out of core classes for performances during the school day which puts them behind. The students seem to "hang out" in the theater area before, during and after school sometime practicing but most of the time gossiping about each other. The theater department now has more influence over my daughter then I do and it appears that theater is prioritized over core classes. It is as if she has been brainwashed because she truly thinks of them as her family now. I know that my daughter is not reaching her full potential at this school. I am also concerned that when I try to monitor my daughter grades in skyward it is difficult to tell if she did not turn in the assignment or if the teachers just did not grade the homework, so I never really know what her grades are until the end of each 9 weeks.

In the last year, after they rezoned for the new school, my daughter has started mentioning more fighting at the school where the police had to get involved. She speaks more frequently about students getting into drugs and vaping in the school. She told me about teachers that have been rude and borderline inappropriate towards her. Finally, she has also had to deal with the pretentious students there.

Very disappointing.

The school fails to follow IEPs and 504 plans. Administrators ignore parents and do not follow their own code of conduct. When a grievance is made by a parent they retaliate on the student. Teachers can not control the classrooms making the culture unsafe for students.

We moved here last year and the school has been great for my incoming Freshman and Junior..The teachers are fantastic and the Principal is great and engaging. The school is yes crowded but Walnut Grove is opening in August and will eleveate some of the over-crowded halls. School is what you make it...Get involved tons of sports, club programs...Football stadium is like a college stadium. The electives that the students can pick from are abundant which in turn helps them focus on an area of study for college or trade school.... Police station in the school and kids love and respect them.... FANTASTIC SCHOOL!!

Education is great but this is mainly a party school where there are too many events happening and has high student engagement. It's a little overcrowded. The pep rally's are very frequent and one of the best pep rally's in the world.

First, take a look at the Prosper High School website of Administration. It is extremely simple to analyze that this school is putting up a front. Reading each of their contributing factors to The Prosper High School, realized that ALL admin (people in charge) identify themselves as to "always" serve/ be servants to each student. As for it can be confirmed that this school has no intentions of supporting let alone "serving" any individual who is NOT a part of a glamorized media post beyond the school. They care about who represents the school so they can maintain the rich and golden image they hold and will continue to brainwash us with. Help make the difference today, and save the generations to come. "next"

The district is suffering growing pains and PHS cannot keep up! School is way too crowded. Students get away with bullying, leaving early, cheating, and disrespecting others. Administration and teachers dont follow their own policies and just sweep the concerns of parents/students under the rug instead of doing what is right for students because they are in fear of tarnishing the schools rep by getting a negative post on social media.

I think that this school is extremely over rated. They push things aside and sweep them under the rug to maintain a certain image of a high standard without actually achieving that standard. This is a prime example of dont judge a book by its cover because all the pages inside of this book have been redacted.

We were very impressed with the level of education and college preparation from this school My son took full advantage and worked very hard taking dual credit classes his junior and senior year and was able to cut a full year off his college education and use those credits and graduated in 3 years! Amazing savings and time. I didn't really get involved in the school politics. It seemed like they cleaned out most of the problems right before my son got there. The only negative wa the Tennis Coach, Mandy Weaver. She was very immature and a bully. Therefore, only gets 4 stars.

I feel that a lot of the students feel they are overworked. Many extracurricular activities take a lot of time and some students can't keep up with multiple activities and classes to truly prepare them for their future.

A lot of the pre-AP and AP teachers are well built, especially AP. They teach as if it were a college class and the courses are hard, but they offer as much help as they can give you and will work with you if your grade is lacking.

The school in general, it is lacking. If your in a sport or an extracurricular than it's pretty good. Things like band have people such as SLT's (Student leadership team) that lead the sections during marching season. It helps organize the over 300 people so the 4 band directors don't have to do it themselves.

They have a really good 504 plan that helps students with things such as anxiety, ADHD, Dyslexia, etc. it gives them extra time and helps them take test for fairness in their grades compared to others.

Pretty decent. I have a home in band and I love all the people there. I take all the advanced classes I can in a year and it is truly a challenge, but it really does prepare me for college. The school can improve upon some things, but overall it's a good school.

This school has a lot of classes to help students with college and all, but in most electives are just coaches who need a class to teach and they don't know what they are doing. The kids here think the leadership here is a joke and pretty much do whatever they want. Most teachers act like they care about the development of the students but they really don't. They just load the students up with work and then complain about how much they have to grade. So overall I would say my experience here has been pretty bad.

The Education and College Prep my children receive is amazing. From AG Science to AP classes there is an amazing array offered. The GT Program starts in Kindergarten, Screening and help for one of our Daughters with Dyslexia. AP and Pre AP classes push our academics. Athletics are strong, We started a new Latin Club through the Junior Classical League this year, offer ASL American Sign Language through 4th year, Compete regularly in UIL, Have a PSAT prep class for credit and a unique small town feel where most kids feel like they have a place. Love living in Prosper!!

My Daughter graduated from Prosper high school. It was a fantastic experience. She transferred into Prosper for her last two years of school. I met with many of her teachers and Dr. Watkins on many occasions. All of whom seemed genuinely interested in the wellbeing of my Daughter. She was excepted and made to feel welcome by the other students as well. I grew up in West Texas so school spirit has always been a big part of texas schools. It's a fun way to keep the students engaged. I get that sports can be overwhelming for those not involved. I didn't feel that this was the case while my daughter attended. So many of the very negative comments on this page I feel are focused too much on one aspect of the school, which isn't fair. The administration really does care about your students wellbeing as well as the teachers. This is not always the case. Prosper is a great school that still has a hometown feel.

My learning challenged little girl has always gotten the extra attention she needs. From extra tutoring and individual help, teachers have gone out of their way to include her and push her towards success. I would recommend to anyone!

I feel the kids are held accountable when they make poor choices and break rules.
The principal informs ALL students what is expected, the behaviors that will not be tolerated, and follows through with consequences (detentions, lost privileges, etc.)
when rules are broken.

I have 2 kids that attend this school. This will be our 4th year at PHS. We have been in 3 different school districts up until this point and I can honestly say the way this school is run far exceeds anything we have experienced in the past. The principal is one of the best. He is always present, he is energetic, he creates an environment that is conducive to learning and full of pride. The students know what to expect, they know he means business and is control, yet he shows the students respect and kindness and genuine concern.
I am impressed with the curriculum, the communication, the school spirit, the campus, and most of the teachers. Above all, I feel that my kids are fortunate to be a part of such a well run school and will receive a great education.
I must also compliment the school board and the superintendent. I know we are in great hands.

I wish this school focused on academics as much as it does sports. If you are not interested in sports, you are lost in the shuffle. Sometimes even picked on and made to feel out of place. I have lived here for 17 years and am tired of the "Prosper Pride", forced on you. If you don't play or worse care about sports or the pep rallies you are a nobody. I wish there was more than just glorifying sports.

My daughter has been attending this school for 2 semesters. While the education is probably average at best, the rules are absolutely ridiculous. From the forced attendance at pep rallies, forced attire at pep rallies, (Yes, if the child does not conform to the pep rally schema, he or she is given detention.) the hidden ability for the school to post private information (They don't delineate what the information is.) at will, to punishing a child for one tardy, yet the bus cannot be on time. I cannot recommend this school as the principal propagates sports and some education and then tries to enforce a ridiculous amount of rules.

Talented and caring staff. Communication is fantastic and there are lots of activities for kids to get involved in (band is great!). The area is having a huge growth explosion but the district seems to have a great plan in place to manage that growth.

Im a 9th grader this year, i was really excited to go into high school. I started the year liking it, Im in the band so I got to ever football game, the team might have done really bad but I had fun in the stands. As the semester went on we had to learn the Prosper Rumble 2.0 which I hated they pulled us out of class to do something stupid, I had important classes that I needed a full period for not one cut short. I was getting to know my teachers more some of them were great but I had many that were really bad and didnt help me. Some of the students are great but most of them are stuck up snobs that brag about how much money they have and they put you down if you dont have as much. Ive been made fun of sense I moved here 7 years ago, its really hard on me and I dont like it.

My family moved from out of state, and when we were looking for school districts Prosper stood out. Prosper has a lot of pride, and the fact that we can brag about our school proves that PHS is amazing academically and spirit wise.

Ok so Mr. Wright did not FORCE us to do the prosper rumble, he gaves us options on wether we would like to participate of not. He is an great principal over all and haves high expectations for us because he knows we can do it. He ask very little from us as high school students but , to strive for excellence. He comes up with all these fun activity and ways for us as a school to come together and have a great time. We are in high school thats is suppose to be the best years of your life and that is exactly what he haves made it.

PHS is well-known for their school spirit and Prosper Rumble, performed at the pep rallies. I think the first year we did the Rumble, the kids actually did enjoy it. But I am afraid all the publicity the principal only seems to care about being the best. What people don't realize is these kids are FORCED to learn these rumble dances. They miss class in order to practice for the pep rallies.They get real grades in real classrooms History and geography, on how well they learn the school song.The principal SCREAMS at the kids, threatens them, if they do not participate in the pep rallies. School spirit comes from WITHIN, it cannot be forced.Watching Prosper Rumble 2.0 I did not see kids filled with school spirit, I saw kids being forced to perform for ratings. I was also taken with the pep rallies when they started and was excited about the school spirit. But if this principal doesn't get a grip soon he is going to kill what he is trying to hard to create. Being the best should not be the the goal, leading the kids to legitimately care about each other and their school, should. Get a grip, Prosper, and stop blindly supporting this. School is for learning, after all, or so I thought.

Prosper has been very good for my children academically. The school has outstanding school spirit. Unfortunately, the athletic department is a country club for the rich kids or what you do for the coach. The best players do not always play. It is how connected you are to the coach and how much you kiss his behind. There are things that go on that should not.

:D My school is Awesome! No matter what all those kids and students from other schools say Prosper is a school for everyone :D I am a middle class student or more like my family is middle class. And sure people in Prosper have nice things but that shouldn't change your high school experience...that should be up to you....and how you decide to live your high school life. Let me just say the "rich gang" things we say is because we are "rich in our academics, and in our class rooms" which I know sounds kinda not for high schoolers but it really keeps us motivated. I love how our principal is motivated, and keeps us pumped up for games...last year I never even went to basketball or football games cause I thought it was just a waste of time but he's created this section for students to support our team and help get us closer as a school and I like that. I believe that the way they run things as far as punishment is fair game.if you do something wrong and you did it on purpose then that's on your kid...they made their decision, and so they pay the consequences. I love how my school supports new students who come to prosper :) If I we're to move some where Prosper is definitely the place

This school is so great, it has so much school spirit and the principle is awesome! I couldn't imagine going anywhere else! I'm a freshman and upperclassmen were so sweet and welcoming when I got here! I wouldn't trade my experience here for anything else and can't wait to finish my highschool career here, I can already tell these are gonna be some of the best years of my life!

I'm a student here. If you are well off and have a nice house, nice cars, and a lot of money then prosper is the place for you! Prosper is all stuck up and snobby about the material things they have. You will be the most popular and well liked kid if you are so called "rich". The students even have a boastful chant they like to yell "rich gang" at football games. It really is a terrible place with no class at all. If you are a middle class kid or even lower class then you need to stay away from prosper. The other students will show off and it will make you feel terrible just because your parents don't have as much money. Not to mention are new principle that prosper got last year is way to stict and shoves school spirit down you throat and will outcast you if you don't show it. It is really counter productive. Plus the principle is extremely strict and runs this school like a prison. Even some of the teachers will complain about how bad it is. All you need to remember is if you have money and like to show off, then come to prosper! If not then stay away because that's all that's here...

We are an upper middle class family that moved into the school district approximately two (2) years ago. We are pleased with the academics of the middle school and high school, but are very displeased with the athletics. The middle school and high school athletes are played based on their parents involvement with the programs and connections with the coaches. We have always told our kids to work hard and out play the other kids and you will play. NOT at this school. Hard work by the parents and money pays offs at theses schools.

We moved into the Prosper School District with our oldest entering his sophomore year. It was rough for him fitting in at first, but since Mr. Wright came in, the morale of the school has changed. He is great!! Dr. Watkins helped our younger child feel welcome on his first day at Folsom as a 4th grader. I've seen his presence at many school functions with a crowd of kids around him. Not everything is perfect, but it has much more to offer than the district we came from. We can't stop telling people what a great district we have moved into. I will also add we are a middle class family and not one of the affluent ones everyone is complaining about. Most everyone we have met is always friendly and welcoming to us.

Very difficult to fit in. Also found out my daughter is behind in math and science, yet they passed her anyway. Socially, this school has been a horrible experience for my daughter. Academically, we have also suffered.

Fantastic experience at Prosper HIgh Shool.Wonderful administration.We moved here from Greenwich,CT and had high expectaions for our sons education.Prosper ISD met those expectations.We are an academically focused family and have been beyond pleased with every aspect of Prosper High School.One of the nicest HIgh Schools aesthetically that I have ever seen.State of the art facilities,beautiful building. I would stronly revommend Prosper High School.

Prosper High School has one of the best administration and faculty I have ever experienced. I have been an educator/administrator for almost 30 years. PHS has finally got it right with Mr. Wright and his fantastic team of administrator, teachers and staff. Whomever wrote the comment about Dr. Watkins obviously has not met and dealt with him on a continual basis. He is one of the best administrators I have every known. Prosper ISD has grown tremendously in the last 10 years. Considering all of their growing pains, they have done a great job of accommodating all of the issues that come with a growing district. There is not a perfect school anywhere... There are the good one, then there are the Great Ones...PHS is becoming one of the Great Ones. So glad Mr. Wright is leading this campus. It will only get better with him in charge.
