My experience of teaching at FMJH included students in 8th-grade "Advanced" English courses that didn't have a command of the alphabet. The average literacy of every "Advanced" 8th-grade English class barely met a 4th-grade level: simple Hans Christian Andersen fairey tales were beyond the comprehension of the majority of students. Nevertheless, these students are all enrolled in Advanced English to manipulate educational standards and test scores to the benefit of Administration. Rather than supporting these kids learning, they are thrown into farcical Advanced classes beyond their development. They are set up to fail, putting these children in Advanced English courses is like asking them to perform brain surgery.
And so it comes as no surprise that students act out against the impossible task theyve been presented. Students are hostile, angry, verbally and physically abusive. And, in my experience, so too is Administration. Teachers are bullied, threatened, and demeaned instead of being supported by Administration: teacher turnover at FMJH is dizzying for a reason. It dosent matter how hard you work or how much you care, youre guaranteed to fail.
Save yourself the trauma and avoid FMJH at all costs.

this school is terrible, people are getting into fights and smoking drugs during school dances 24/7. and some of the teachers could not care less about what happens to their students.

fmms is a great school don't get me wrong, but some things are too far.
one- the bathroom passes. sure its a great way to stop kids from skipping class, but we only have 9 chances to go to the bathroom during class for the whole 9 weeks. and teachers insist we use the bathrooms, but they get locked during passing periods (which are four minutes?!) so we are forced to go to the bathroom during class. its a ridiculous way to their take on bathrooms.
two- yondr pouches
why. just why. im not just speaking for fmms when i say this, but for any school with yondr. what are these pouches for? they prevent us from contacting any police or parent/guardian if there is a life-threatening emergency going on inside of the school. and getting kids in trouble because they either do t lock it or just forget their yondr is so stupid. kids should be allowed to have their phones in their backpack, but i think that teachers should have phone jails at the beginning of class, so we can still get our education. the yondr pouches are highly unnecessary, and super expensive. one pouch costs about 15-20 dollars, multiply that by how many students there are in our school and it is over 10,000 dollars. why are we using this money for yondr pouches instead of installing safer protocols in the school?
three- hiring first year teachers
they cannot teach at all, and the classes are all so disruptive because they cant figure out how to quiet them down.
i think the school should change their ways for how they do these topics. sure, it can and might lead to problems, but thats why alternative schools and cameras exist. the school shouldn't be flaunting their money from fundraisers or families willingly giving their money to them on unnecessary items just for them to get rid of them sooner than later. it doesn't make sense why any of these protocols exist. im a current 8th grader at the school, and its okay so far, but ive seen at least 70 people breaking these rules that aren't that set in stone. do better.

Forest meadow is a good school, but some things NEED to change. They are treating students like elementary kids by making them have a bathroom pass to go to the bathroom, and on top of that they lock the bathrooms at 3:30-45 depending on the day so you have to wait till you get home to use the bathroom. and they even lock the bathrooms during some passing periods and sometimes during class, and if you're late to class trying to use the restroom the teachers will get mad but their the ones saying that insisting that we should go to the bathroom during passing periods. While this isn't the only issue there's also another thing that this school should work on... bullying. The staff and assistant principals overlook bullying often when its happening right in front of them. And when they do decide to do something about it, it doesn't put an end to the bullying it just stops for a day or two and they continue. It gets to the point that you have to tell them and possibly get parents involved for the bullying to completely stop. I'm an 8th grader moving on to 9th grade and this is what I have to say about the things going on at FMJH.

This school is ridiculous....this is why we have so many school shootings because schood does nothing when it comes to bullying....my daughter was tripped by a boy in school today and i told the asst principal and she said she couldnt do anything about it....even though it happened at school. Think twice before putting your kids in this school.

Poor. Major behavioral issues with so many of the students that attend this school. If you are thinking about teaching or substituting here, I would definitely consider another school in this district. There are a few students who genuinely try and want to do well but for the most part, the kids are disrespectful and unruly to no end. Very sad.

Zero respect shown to teachers and substitutes. As a substitute at this school, I was told by a student to "@#$! off!". Behavior is terrible.
Posted: May 22, 2019
Students are disrespectful, rude, belligerent, and have zero respect for authority and/or adults over them.
Posted: May 22, 2019
Students are unruly and leadership does a poor job enforcing discipline.
Posted: May 22, 2019
Although I am sure the leadership of this school tries to support learning differences, the students are ungrateful and incredibly unwilling to take advantage of the resources given to them.
Posted: May 22, 2019
Students bully the staff and each other. They especially bully visitors/substitutes on the campus and have no regard to respect of any kind.

5 Stars. Keri Jones is an incredible Principal. The teachers are excellent and are able to handle an incredibly diverse student population. "Great Schools" doesn't know what it's talking about. Clearly it places too much emphasis on testing...when there are 30+ different languages spoken at a school, there are probably going to be some kids that have challenges with state testing. Who cares... ALL kids at this school being taught by teachers and administrators that care about significantly more than test scores. Both of my children (one with dyslexia) have been VERY well served by FMJH. Go Chargers!
