This school is very extreme. Either very good or very bad but more often than not Ive experienced staff with extremely bad attitudes. Mean. Frankly Im tired of it. Theres a way to talk to people and that way is not it. My child has sensitivity issues and tends to be late more often than not (were working on it and slowly improving) but has never missed school without a valid reason. They havent said anything about the tardies really though they do know we have a struggle. My child missed school because of pink eye. I sent up the excuse note and got it excused. THEN I GET A CALL ABOUT HER ATTENDANCE BECAUSE SHE MISSED SCHOOL FOR HAVING PINK EYE. we started to get in a routine where we were pretty much on time most of the time, and today we were. I pulled in a parking spot, got out, opened the back door and was trying to get my daughter, who of course is not cooperating, and maybe 15sec after opening the door, the parking lot lady comes up with an attitude yelling hey hurry up gestures to a car that just pulled up trying to get in the parking spot, taking her hands gesturing dramatically, while aggressively shooting daggers at me with her eyes. Like? You think thats appropriate? Lady Im not the one to be disrespectful to. Im not purposefully taking 15 seconds but if its that big of deal instead of being a jerk why dont you come help. Its 15sec. I understand that car is in a hurry SO AM I. The one thing I will say is that the front desk lady and the principle are quite fantastic and I really appreciate them. theyre quite wonderful people. There was another time I dropped my child off a little bit late, and I dropped her off at the front of the school, while watching her walk in (it was maybe 10ft) another mother did the same thing with a kid the same age. Someone covering the front desk has my child sit there, then comes out and only yells at me for not walking her completely inside. Right after another child went in and nothing was said. A lot of the staff need a class on manners and approach. They need to learn just because they are staff doesnt mean they get to treat parents and may be kids, who knows, like theyre stupid. Demeaning a parent for little things that they allow others to do is ridiculous. When im approached like that, im cop an attitude right back. Then itll be made that the parents are the problem.

2/10 thank god my kids only go here for pre-k. The school is so disorganized & seems to be lacking adequate staff. All the events Ive attended in the past two years have been held late, I arrive on time & have to wait at least half an hour on the staff running around trying to get it together. It is very overcrowded & parking is a nightmare.

The classes are crowded and the teachers (at least ours) was ineffective. A few random school employees had to step in and help her control her students it was that bad. She never communicated to us how our child was doing (after repeated attempts to speak to her). This is not a good or even average school, the children are treated like cattle and parents are ignored.

This school was a lot better then vista del sol, but still a down grade from many other elementary schools. My daughter was bullied and the staff didn't help much when I was in a car wreck, was severely injured and could no longer walk or drive my daughter to school. They said they could not provide transportation and that my 7 year old daughter could walk a mile by herself. To me this was horrible. I had no one to bring my daughter to and from school. I had to drop her out of school and enroll her into a homeschooling program. The staff was very difficult with me about dropping her... but i was not going to have her walk by herself and had no one to take her for me and the school would not provide transportation for a couple months until i could walk her again. This School is a lot better then neighboring schools and was a blessing when my daughter got transferred there, but still a lot of problems and ended up homeschooling until we move back home. Back hone the elementary schools strive to be the best of the best. Socorro school district seems fine with just being okay. They do not strive to be better or achieve greatness. Poorly organized and run schools and school district.

This is the first year my children attend O'shea and I'm actually very pleased. The school they belonged to last year was a mess. O'shea has new principal and I have met him due to my son miss behaving. I really liked how he and the rest of administration handled the situation. My son is doing a lot better. Instead of writing him off as a "bad boy," they worked with him and his self-esteem.

Here at o'shea I personaly think my child is having issues because of all the mean children, and the principal is doing nothing but saying she will give them detention. And another thing is the nurse is just saying a couple of words like~your fine~and then just sends them back to where they were. And one more thing,my child keeps coming home with a rash from her uniform(shes not alurgic to anything)and i think the children should not were uniforms and were whatever they want.
