I am very disheartened by the way this school operates. The counselors are by far some of the most uninformed and uncaring group of people. Not only do they not counsel or guide the seniors they are unable to answer basic questions about programs, scholarships and colleges. They dismiss the students with zero guidance. Whats more disheartening, there were two students who took their lives last year within a month of each other. There was no open door policy, no counseling for the students who knew the second student. Because they were so close together one student was brushed under the rug with zero recognition from the school or counseling from the counselors or any of the staff at this school. That alone shows you the type of school and staff they have at this school. It is in the counselors scope of practice to not only provide academic support, and college career planning, but also to provide social emotional support, and crisis intervention. This school does not have counselors who do these things. Not to mention there are more long term subs than actual teachers in many of these classrooms. We will be removing our child as soon as possible.

This school does not care about hard work and effort, my child works his tail off every day is the first at the facility to work out in the morning, every single day. The only people there when I drop him off is the coaches, yet when you have the awards ceremony he gets nothing no awards while others get the hard work awards, stay away from this school if your want your kids hard work and dedication to be recognized for their work not for who their parents are and what they do for a living that comes with titles, that who this school only cares about.

This is by far the worst school I've ever seen you cant be sick without them completely making you fall behind. teachers and staff only care about money they don't care about the kids all the care about is how much money they are getting I absolutely do not recommend going to this school or even thinking about going to this school they don't even let the kids use the bathroom my child would come home everyday crying because of how mean the teachers are and how strict they are. And they are not strict in a good way. I hope this review helps when deciding to go to this school because i dont recommend. Don't even get me started on the nurse or councilors. They are the worst but the worst one of all is the principle all she wants is money money money. And there is fights at that school everyday.

Americas High School is a very good school for engaging students in several activities and for learning. It is one of the only high schools in the Socorro school district that remains a closed campus, which means that students cannot leave during their lunch break. This has been so since the opening of the campus in the early 1990s. Safety protocols and precautions are implemented to keep students, faculty and staff safe at all times. A necessary change in administration was recently implemented which has resulted in the overall betterment in morale in students and staff and confidence among the public. I recommend this campus wholeheartedly.

looks average, i like how they call for any reason about whats going on at school, from a simple newsletter to a firedrill.
on average i think it is not a great school but it can be better in time..

AHS is a great school but the new 2010-2011 principal is the worst.the principal never returns my phone calls. The last time we spoke over the phone she was very rude with me. hopefully the get a new prncipal next year because she is the worst principal I have had to deal with!

I was a student there... I graduated 2005 this school gave me great experience never had any issues with no one from the staff.all of the teachers I had where friendly and dedicated to their job.thank you for this great experience.
