The idea of a classical education is outstanding, and much needed. Unfortunately, St. Paul does not have the leadership or the quality of faculty to pull it off in a manner that benefits the children. Teachers are leaving, many of their top students are exiting, and the overall education is not worth paying for. Sadly, the focus is on petty discipline of the students as a way to distract from the failures of the teachers and overall environment. At the end of this past year, they began having daily mass from 8am-9am, and tried to sell it to the parents as a form of spiritual enhancement. In reality, it appears to be a coverup of the fact that they don't have the resources to offer quality academics, hence the offering of more mass. If you interview at this school and are considering it as an option for your child, get everything in writing from the principal. In our interview (we were there one year), I was told there was an honors math teacher and program, which was very important since my daughter came from a STEM school. It wasn't until November when I found out that the honors math teacher had left over the prior summer. I found out when my daughter told me she was "assembling Legos" when I asked her how her math tutoring went on a particular day after I picked her up from school--the school never informed me, and when I reached out to the principal about the honors math program my email was ignored and I never received a reply. Avoid this school until it is cleaned up and the current "leadership" is replaced. If you go to their current Facebook page, you will see how many new teachers are coming in for next year due to extensive turnover. Sadly, until the current Head of School/Principal is replaced there will still be poor decisions made regarding the program at the school, in my opinion. Many blessings to all.

Why my family chooses St Paul...
Simple answer, God called us to this second home.
It was and still is a lot of prayer to be part of St Paul school.
The school is a second home to us, the family and the teachers that are/were there all contributed to that.
We all have different level of expectations, but for us, the quality of academic and spiritual teaching they provide meet our expectations.
Another benefits - smaller size and the down to earth people that you'll meet is a wonderful experience.
My kids were involved on school sports. After school activities - orchestra, science, girls on the run.
There are challenges and I am sure all school continue to face those, whether it is big or small.
However, I know that God does not abandon us. With God's grace through ups and downs experiences,
He has continuously brought together good families and teachers to serve and follow Him.
One of the things that my kids continuously learning, is to not be afraid to take on challenges, difficulties and hard times. Most of all to remember that God is there with us through our trials and triumphs in life.
As Paulinian(St Paul)/Packer family, we are not looking only at what the school can provide to us, but what we can also contribute to make
St Paul School better and grow. The families at St Paul helped each other. God has taught me and my family resiliency through hard times and we know He doesn't abandon those who seek Him first.
I pray you'll receive God's blessing to find the right school for you through this teaching of St Paul...
"My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness".

My daughter is a THIRD generation SPS student. St. Paul shines with its warm, supportive community of families and teachers. Several staff members have two decades of tenure teaching here. From Preschool through 8th Grade, St. Paul turns out prepared, humble, and gracious young adults ready for the high school experience. ItÂ’s no wonder St. Paul School is ranked highest among local parochial schools in the amount of salutatorians and valedictorians graduating high school. Come visit and see....there will always be a student willing to open and hold the door for you!

We love Saint Paul and so does our daughter. She looks forward to school each day and is so excited to share her day with us when she gets home. The staff has high expectations for their students. The staff are very caring and provide an excellent learning environment.

We have absolutely loved the teachers my daughter has had in her time at Saint Paul. She has really progressed in academics and in her faith and I attribute that to her excellent teachers .

I am impressed with the students and their respect they show to staff and visitors. The students and school show their compassion by the causes and efforts to help others throughout the year. Saint Paul students/school/families are very giving.

Our son transferred in this year as a 6th grader and we feel it was one of the best decisions we have ever made. The academics are very strong, his teachers are so positive and passionate about their subjects, and we love that the top priority is living a Christian, loving life. We are so grateful to the St. Paul community!

We started here in middle school. The team of middle school teachers is amazing! They work together and transition the kids from 6th through 8th grade in a smooth manner and prepare the kids for high school, paying attention to each of their individual needs. Great experience! Close family environment too.

Excellent! We have been with the school for nearly 5 years, starting with Pre K. I cannot imagine my girls attending any other school!

Students have adequate time built within their classes to reinforce the topics. However, continuing to review the concepts at home is just as important.
Posted: December 1, 2017
The teachers care about each and every student. Many have been teaching with SPS for 20+ years. ItÂ’s thrilling to also see SPS alumni return to the halls, as a teacher.

We have attended St. Paul School (SPS) for 17 years, with the last of 4 sons there to graduate this Spring. SPS exemplifies a nuturing, inclusive culture, that fosters accountability and development for each student. Based on strong Catholic Christian teachings, the students learn to respect, lead, and serve. All in a small class size, exceptionally taught, and fun setting. Academically challenging, with superb staff and faculty. Priceless value for those you love most.

I have four children that went to St. Paul from kindergarten through 8th grade. Each one graduated with honors from high school and went on to graduate from the college of their choice. St. Paul prepared them spiritually, mentally, academically, and socially to meet the challenges of the real world and to show their love for Christ as they show love for others. I have also been a teacher at ST Paul for 23 years. I love teaching in an environment where the sense of community, family, and service reflect the Social Justice values that are taught daily in the classrooms. St Paul is a great school!

The atmosphere at St. Paul's is all about family and community. The teachers are highly qualified and some of the most caring teachers I have ever known. The Middle School teachers insure that students are more than well prepared for high school and beyond! I highly recommend St. Paul's School!

Bullying is not tolerated, and there are many avenues available to teachers and administration depending on each situation.

The school has a Language Lab that provides therapy and training for elementary students diagnosed with dyslexia. Middle school students in the Language Lab are given help in all subjects with an emphasis on reading comprehension and written work. St. Paul's is the only school in the diocese that provides a Math Lab for students with learning differences and those who are identified as needing extra help in math. The Math Lab also provides enrichment for elementary students who are identified as high achieving students. Classroom teachers work closely with the labs to provide additional support in classrooms.

The mission of the school is to develop the whole person, and Gospel values are the heart and soul of this development. Integrity, compassion, respect, and a life of service are cornerstones of these values.

The majority of the teachers have many years of experience, and many hold advanced degrees. The teachers stay informed on best practices in the field of education and are open to new techniques and materials to enhance student learning. Most importantly, the teachers truly care about each student as a person, not simply as an academic student.

SPS is a wonderful, traditional learning environment. My child is finishing her third year here and is thriving. The staff is wonderful, the children and families are nice, and my daughter is challenged appropriately for her grade level. We've been very happy here!

I love the teachers and it is why I choose this school. I got to speak with several of them when I toured the school and most have been with the school for an extended period of time.

We have homework about 3 nights a week for 1st grade. It is not too much and takes about 30 minutes or so each night. I love that they do spelling test too.
Posted: January 14, 2016
All the teachers encourage this and communicate with the parents if something happens at school. The teachers lead by example and even admit if they make mistakes too which is good for the kids to see.

We could not be more please with this school. This is our first year here and have both kids attending. The teachers and staff are wonderful, class sizes are amazing and we love all the parents. It is like a family.

I love this school & I can go on and on but I will make this short. No teacher turnaround (Preschools are terrible ); Great teachers and staff; The principal is awesome; hot lunch provided; many opportunities for parent participation; Indoor Gym; outdoor playground; great field; Good Location; Super families and much more. Not only has our little girl made great friends but so have we. Come to an open house and see for yourself. It's just a great school.

My kid loves her teachers and they have been great. They also don't let her get away with stuff. We have good communication and they work with all the parents to find a good balance for the kids.
Posted: January 12, 2016
Again she's only in PreK 4 so they do not get homework yet; and rightly so. I don't think they should have homework in kindergarten either. It's a delicate time for kids. I think if we push them too soon they develop a life long resentment of school. I remember kindergarten as being fun. It should be fun.

It's a catholic school. The biggest difference with public schools is that religious schools spend a lot more time building a child's character in addition to their academic skills. I can tell by my kids work sheets that they go over these topics. Walking through the school you will see literal signs up that mention these exact things; honesty. integrity and fairness.

Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic School is such an inviting, nurturing, enriching and engaging and academically excellent school. The faculty and staff are top notch with many of them having advanced degrees in law or degrees from Notre Dame, etc. But as with any organization, it all starts from the top. Principal Darbie Safford is so approachable, personable and skilled at running a first-class school. This school thinks outside the box to provide children the very best education possible. It has created outdoor classrooms with comfortable tree stumps for seating, including a vegetable garden and pond. It is always thinking of ways to engage and challenge students... From multiple educational field trips starting in PreK, enclosed beautiful upper & lower courtyards to bring learning outdoors. Yet the most important feature of the school is the teachers. They are highly skilled, experienced and are so friendly and caring to the students. I am a parent who has multiple children at Saint Paul, both boys and girls in different grades, all of them with different strengths and personalities. They are all thriving in this wonderful environment. I highly recommend it!

St. Paul is a small school with huge benefits. The school is always enhancing their curriculum with the most up to date technology. They have recently updated their computer lab, which is amazing. Each classroom is equipped with student computers. The teachers are constantly researching ways to enhance the learning experiences in their classrooms for their students. The school's atmosphere is friendly and caring. I highly recommend you take a tour of the school and you will be excited about enrolling your child.

We have been at Saint Paul for 18 years. My third child just graduated from 8th grade and will be starting at a private catholic high school in the fall. All three of my children were very well prepared for high school. The sense of community at this school is phenomenal. I highly reccommend this school.
