My children have attended Saint Andrew Catholic School since 2018, and we couldn't be happier with how they are learning and growing!

This place fosters an environment that feels like a nightmare, prioritizing indoctrination and cultivating mean-spirited behavior among students while alienating parents. Despite the stereotype that non-Catholics excel at fundraising, this school takes it to an extreme, relentlessly pressuring families to donate. Meanwhile, the treatment of both students and parents is deplorable, creating a toxic atmosphere under the guise of education and faith.

I cannot say enough about the school. My children were in public school for the first couple years of their formation. I was never particularly inclined to send them to Catholic school just due to the cost, but when I toured the school and saw what the Saint Andrew’s children were learning relative to where my two boys were in their class studies, I knew that I had to make the change. it is so easy to dismiss the difference in formation given the added costs, but I can definitively tell you that it has created an amazing change in the life of my boys and the trajectory of their lives - especially spiritually. I have been very impressed with the administration as well as the teachers. The parents of the students are extremely engaged in the everyday activities and it shows in the positive behaviors of the children. One thing that I had never really considered is just the general feeling of positivity and love; it is ubiquitous on campus, and permeates through the halls. If you have any doubts about whether or not the cost is justified, I can tell you with a clear conscience and clear heart that it is 110% worth it!

I have been at St.Andrew since 6th grade and I am going into 8th this year. During my time at At St.Andrew the students were very welcoming and I made friends very quickly. the teachers are very supportive and the school offers great accommodations for children with learning differences. there is a little bullying here nd there but that's expected at any school, public or private. There are only about 50-65 kids in each grade so everybody is pretty close. I would recommend this school

As a parent of 3 current students (and one future student), I am grateful for a school with a strong, orthodox Catholic identity (e.g. daily prayer and catechism, weekly Mass, monthly Rosary and Eucharistic Adoration, teaching Theology of the Body, etc.) and strong academics which is being enhanced by transition to classical Catholic education model. I'd be remiss in not mentioning the strong community of families who are very proactive in providing support for the school and each other both in prayer and acts of charity. ***NOTE*** As you review some of the reviews below going back 13 years, I will note that in our experience at the school in the past 6 years, we have seen a transformation for the better in leadership, curriculum, Catholic identity and community. So while some of the comments below might be the experience for that family at the time, I would advise considering the more recent reviews and then contacting the school and other school families to learn more about the school at the present time.

This year began with tons of homework - 3-4 hours a night for middle school. Parents rightfully complained, the school issued a survey asking for feedback and some adjustments were made. However, I think it it still too much

I've been very pleased with the teachers. My experience has been that they are kind, understanding, loving people who want to help the kids succeed in life

Posted: November 3, 2017

My favorite thing about the school. The 7th and 8th graders are required to do community service. They are expected to be the leaders in the school and help out regularly. The older students are assigned younger buddies for the year which all of the kids love. Mass weekly. Behavior is enforced. We've seen kids suspended this year for online bullying and being disrespectful which is necessary these days. Assignments are due on the due date which teaches responsibility. At this age, it is critical for kids to learn these key life schools and SAS does an outstanding job with it.

Still trying to get a feel for the leadership. I don't think the current leaders have the right background to be running a school. There is a lot of focus on things that aren't necessarily of great importance - like students wearing proper uniforms (tags are checked to make sure the kids are only wearing clothes from the approved vendor). (I'm all for uniforms but I object to the reqt that they MUST be bought from Parkers only.). I also noticed this year that they want to fine parents for everything. We already pay tuition - don't fine us too when we're late. We all know how challenging it can be to get multiple children ready in the AMs

It's been a very positive experience. My kids like going to school most days. They are learning the curriculum but more importantly, they are learning how to be decent and responsible human beings which is something that gets overlooked these days. Every school has issues and SAS has areas where they could improve. But - SAS is teaching my kids life lessons in a supportive, loving and encouraging environment and that's what matters most to me. I feel good sending my kids to school at SAS

As a parent who has had my children in this school for several years, I can not, with a good conscience, recommend this school to anyone looking for a private school education. It seems as if the administrators want to run the school more like a business than a school. Now, while I know that money is needed to operate, that is not what I am talking about. The administrators (primarily the president and principal...who will be the new assistant school superintendent for the Fort Worth Diocese) have a history of considering the business moniker, "the customer is always right." While you not see a problem with this, consider that the school has been dumbed down to conform to the complaining parents with lower performing students. The teachers, some of whom I know on a personal level, are being forced to make accommodations for students without documented, or tested, disabilities. One example is that one student may have to take a 15 problem timed test while all the other students take a 100 problem test in the same time frame. Over time, other kids figure the system out...get lazy...their parent(s) complain...and another accommodation is made. This takes time away from the other students' learning experience and does not encourage educational excellence one would expect for the tuition price. Discipline across all grade levels of this school has been in rapid decline over the last few years. This last year, alone, their was no assistant principal, no counsellor, and the principal was mostly absent...off chasing a new job. There is a reluctance to discipline the students because....remember "the customer is always right." We experienced far less discipline issues and bullying in the public school system. If you are only looking for a Catholic faith education, you are much better off having them learn it from your parish CCD program. The faith portion of this school is so watered down that it is barely even recognizable. With the new diocesan position, over all the Catholic schools, of one of the main perpetrators of this schools rapid decline, it is more likely that nothing will get better here...and the cancer will most likely spread to the other campuses as well. This experience has ruined our view of Catholic school education...and we, a devout and faithful Catholic family, will never return to any Catholic school because of it.

Mrs. Baker, Mr. Kincannon, and Mrs. LoCoco are the best. Teachers are the heart of every school. This school has a good heart.

my school is awesome it has great leadership and most of the kids in it are very mature but my school does not have a very good music program. I would like that to improve next year. the uniforms are very strict. you can not even wear pony tails or hairbands on your wrist. I recommend this school but do hope these things will change next year or I might leave.

Saint Andrews is a great school if you are looking for: academics are challenging, the discipline is fair, the environment safe and respectful. I want my kids in an environment with the above!

Love this school and community. You and your children will make lifelong friends. The academics are challenging, the discipline is fair, the environment safe and respectful. Your kids will leave this school prepared for any high school in the city.

Preschool and Kinder are fine. Beyond that, look real hard at your available public school. Policy changes are not communicated well - often by hearsay and then confirmed later. Principal is aloof. Middle school has most of the problems you think would be limited at a Catholic school. Overall, disappointed.

Incredible! The teachers and the staff are amazing. The students are all kind, and learn how to be responsible Christians first and foremost.

This school has done wonders for both my daughter and my son. Before, being in the public school system, they had started getting into trouble. I realized that they were simply not being challanged enough. Not only does St. Andrew's challenge our children, it also challenges us as parents to try harder to understand what our children are going through. They entire school works well together; an actual community full of love.

This school has a true hands on approach with each and every student. No one gets lost in the shuffle, and the teachers are wonderfully caring and aware of every one of their students and the parents.

Worst decision of our lives to send our young child here. Lots of rules, but not much learning. We left after one year. Be forewarned of over involved parents and ill-qualified teachers. Definitely not a school for out of the box thinkers. Conform and give lots of donations to be average. Not what I would consider "Christian" or " Catholic", more like "give us your money to be average and shut up."

This is our 4th year at SAS and we LOVE it! We are so thankful for the new Principle and Assistant Principle. They love their jobs, they love our kids, and they love being in a Catholic environment. They have really stepped up technology with the new SmartBoards in almost all classrooms. You can tell the students are really eager to learn and they are all so well-spoken and curteous. Each year they turn out a very high percentage of Duke Scholars and two Fort Worth high schools have had their valedictorian and/or salutatorian come from SAS. Impressive! The Sait Andrew community is so welcoming. It really feels like a family especially when we all look out for each others kids, help drive carpool, make meals when tragedy strikes, build a community garden to help support our food pantry - the list goes on and on. If you haven't seen SAS before or if it's been a while, you should definitely stop by for a visit and see what's new!

I have been a substitute teacher at St. Andrew Catholic School this year. I have a Masters degree and 21 years teaching experience. My experience with St. Andrew's staff and students has been wonderful! I find this school to be a caring community of educators and young people. I have encountered well-planned lessons for open-minded learners.

Two years at this school was two too many! Our child had to sit out from recess for a week because he dropped his pencil on the floor. He was in Kindergarten! He made a drawing for the teacher to give her as a gift and she said it was "scribble scrabble" and needed to "throw it in the trash!" It is appalling the type of people they let teach! We withdrew him and he attends a public school now. Despite their "concern" for his "emotional and educational maturity," he has made straight A's for the past 2 years and is slowly recovering from the downright disgusting behavior of his former teachers! Don't waste your money or your child's well-being!

If you live in 76109 your child will be one to two years behind public school kids in math, english, spanish, and science when they graduate. The teachers are either individuals that are unqualified to teach in public school, parents or relatives of students, or fresh graduates. This school teaches you to conform and not question. Decsions are political or based on donor funding. Teacher of year plays video games on her phone and steps into the hall to gossip during class. Even other teachers question her abilities in front of students

My son goes to SAS, we LOVE it and are so excited to be Wildcats! The students, parents, teachers and administration are wonderful. I can't believe someone would post that the school is a joke when they are grown and haven't been there in nearly 20 years!

Thisschool is an absolute JOKE. They are not TRUE Catholics and Re biased. The academics are far from rigorous and the technology in the classrooms is litttle to none. They just want your money and to fill you mind with nonsense. I attended this school from 4th grade thru 8th grade and I am 31 now. I would NEVER send my children here.

I agree with recent comments regarding lack of communication and a boy bias. This year there is a new administration and new paint but same problem. This school sees itself as a "private" NOT parochial school in minds of the wealthier parents who influence decisions. Look at parental overinfluence, as a parent with twelve years experience waiting to be finished with this school, I wish someone would have told me that this parochial school is not what you expect if coming from other parts of the country. This parochial school is influenced by money. Administration allows this influence to the detriment of other deserving students with less financial resources. The rules apply sternly to your child but not everyone. You would expect fairness, but do not get that in reality. Underpaid staff fears loss of employment if they speak up. Parents fear no alternative if they change schools. Lack of communication because of fear.

Besides our spirituality, academics and service (SAS!) we have a wonderful community of parents and students!
