As a family who values education, partnership, and open communication, our experience at this school ultimately fell short of expectations.
While the community presents itself as warm and welcoming, we found that the academic support and resources were limited, particularly when students require differentiated instruction or structured intervention. Rather than offering comprehensive support strategies, retention was presented as a primary solution, which raised concerns for us as parents.
Additionally, important conversations regarding our childrens academic future were handled in a way that felt rushed and lacked collaborative tone. We believe educational decisions should be made with families, not positioned as foregone conclusions. As parents, we value being treated as partners in our childrens education, and unfortunately that partnership did not feel consistently present.
Having transitioned from a public school environment where our children previously thrived, it became clear that this private setting was not equipped with the level of resources or accountability structures necessary to support their growth.
This school may be a good fit for families seeking a small, close-knit environment, but we encourage prospective parents to ask detailed questions about academic resources, intervention strategies, and how student progress concerns are addressed before enrolling.

We absolutely love this school! From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt the warm, family atmosphere that sets it apart. The small class sizes mean our children get personalized attention and truly knows their teachers and classmates. Most importantly, the love for Jesus is evident in everything they doChrist is at the center of the learning, the relationships, and the daily rhythms of the school.
We also appreciate the thoughtful extras that enrich our childs educationlike the STEM lab, the beautiful school garden, and the outdoor learning space that encourages curiosity and hands-on exploration. Its a nurturing, faith-filled environment where children are known, loved, and encouraged to grow in both academics and character. We couldnt be more thankful to be part of this amazing school!

I am thrilled to share my experience with Our Redeemer Lutheran School, where my 6-year-old twins have flourished in a nurturing and faith-filled environment.
From the moment we stepped into the school, we were welcomed by a warm and friendly staff who genuinely care about each child's well-being. The teachers are not only highly qualified but also incredibly patient and attentive. They treat every child like family, making the transition into school smooth and enjoyable for both kids and parents alike. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to be both educational and engaging. My twins look forward to school every day, eager to participate in fun activities that promote learning through play. The balance of academic rigor and creative exploration has allowed them to thrive, developing a love for learning that I believe will last a lifetime.
One of the standout features of Our Redeemer is its commitment to instilling Christian values in students. The children learn about Jesus in a way that is accessible and relatable, fostering a sense of community and compassion among them. This faith-based approach has enriched their lives and provided a strong moral foundation. The school hosts numerous events throughout the year that are not only enjoyable but also help build a sense of community among families. These activities create lasting memories for the children and strengthen friendships.
Safety is a top priority at Our Redeemer. The school is well-organized, clean, and secure, providing peace of mind for parents. The small class sizes ensure that each child receives individualized attention, which has been invaluable for my twins' development.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Our Redeemer Lutheran School to any parent seeking a nurturing, faith-centered educational environment for their children. Our family has truly found a second home here, and I am grateful for the positive impact this school has had on our lives.

Our Redeemer is a wonderful community of staff and teachers who are genuinely excited to teach the kids and be a part of their lives. The education does not stop in the classroom with the outstanding academics, but includes developing each child's moral character and helping them understand the joy in being a child of God. And there's lots of fun to be had! Our Redeemer offers many fun activities during the school day and enrichment strands after school for kids to expand their exposure to various sports, music classes, reading, writing and much more. There isn't a day that goes by that my kids aren't excited to go to school here!

ORLS was a great fit for my daughter, academically challenging enough to prepare her for middle school. Over the years all of the faculty & staff became like extended family. The teachers did a great job of communicating about any concerns they might observe in the classroom.
The Upper Elementary class sizes were too small for my child in particular however I've seen growth in the lowers school classes.
Add 7th & 8th grade!!!!!!!!

ORLS does not specifically have a special needs program, however the smaller class sizes can allow more focused attention when a child has minor learning issues, children are also allowed to test up in Math, reading level is adjusted per child, and Math programs are taught in lower grades with games interactively once a week.

Bullying in any form is not tolerated. Parents are informed if their child is involved in any issues, and children are directed to positively respond to negative behavior of others.

We have a graduate who through the building of character, confidence, academic skills, and long lasting friendships has gone on to excel in middle school and high school. We have another child still in the school, she has a strong foundation of learning, confidence in her abilities and has become a kind and caring person, I have no doubts she will excel moving into her middle school years based on how this school has built her up.

Children generally have a consistent amount of homework, generally less than an hour a night. If my child stays at the after school program, she has it done and checked before she comes home. Projects are typically done at school.

Mixture of young and tenured teachers that mentor each other on new methods, and effective teaching. Hands on learning with science, and plans to put in an outdoor classroom. Teachers are allowed to teach to their strengths and share subject responsibilities with other teachers.

Weekly program that focuses on teaching kids about character, anti- bullying focused and building self- esteem. Children learn about how to focus disagreements, and positive behavior is encouraged, while inappropriate behavior is dealt with swiftly with parent envolvement.

This school is amazing! We had a bad experience with another private school before coming here. I must say, this school cares about all of its students and families. It truly feels like a family among the parents. Teachers are willing to work with the children until they understand the lessons. They understand how a true education works and that all children are different. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a quality education and a loving environment.

Our Redeemer is a solid school with relatively inexpensive tuition. I had children attend in both Pre-K and elementary. I would highly recommend the Pre-K program as a great option for all types of children. I can only give the school 4 stars, though, because the elementary school is simply not for every child. If you are looking for a small setting (sometimes very small classes of 6-10) that will cater well to children who need some special attention and might not thrive in large environments, then this school could be a great fit for you. However, if you have a child that is more advanced, has a competitive spirit and is highly geared toward learning options such as hands-on lab science and technology, this probably would not be your school. Also, in an effort to be more inclusive and not "hurt feelings," you won't see much celebrated recognition for individual achievement. Again, that might work well for some families, but for those with children who are goal setters and high achievers, it could leave those children feeling under-valued and not motivated by school. All in all, though, this is a good school offering a Christian education in a great location. It's worth checking out and just evaluating it on a child-by-child basis.

Our Redeemer Lutheran School--there is not a better place to send your child everyday. It feels like an extension of family when I walk through the halls. Every teacher knows every child. From Latin to Garden to the accelerated reader program and the option of above grade level math--many opportunities to thrive academically and socially while in a loving, Christian environment.

The teachers care so much. Every teacher (from all grades) know every child in the school. Because they know the children so well, they are able to reach them on a personal level.

We have had nothing but positive experiences at ORLS and both my children were taught by the first grade teacher whom they love.
We believe in a very straightforward approach and we have always found the administrative staff and teachers to be responsive to any questions or concerns.
There was a recent review done by the school asking all parents to offer their opinion on the curriculum (strengths and weaknesses), this suggests to me that there is a constant effort to evaluate and improve.

We love this school. Our child has been here since preschool and is now in the upper grades. Academically excellent: in looking at his work he brings home, I see that they focus on conceptual learning, logic, comprehension. His Iowa Basic Skills scores validate this approach. They make learning fun! Already my child is interested in the basics of physics, chemistry, logic, He loves the optional Latin class. Whole-child-focused: I walked into his PK4 class one day, and the children were having a lively discussion of what the word "appropriate" meant, what they would do if they saw or heard something inappropriate, etc. I see his classmates have impressive self-control, respect for boundaries, ability to converse with adults, etc. Christian love: we don't attend church here, but we were welcomed in, and I've watched the children through the years reach out to the new kids in the class and help them feel a part of the class.

My daughter went to ORLS from K-6th. She is now in 7th at a college preparatory school. After the 1st 6 weeks, she is getting all A's. I attribute that to the great foundation ORLS gave her.

We have been part of ORLS since 2002 when we started our oldest in the PreK 4 program. Our son graduated from ORLS and our two daughters still attend there. The administration and faculty at Our Redeemer have been wonderful. Our children are nurtured and cared for beyond the bounds of teaching academics. Their spiritual and emotional growth and confidence as well as their academic growth has been phenomenal. In fact, recently, our son was diagnosed with a serious illness and we have received many emails and cards from the faculty of the school even though he graduated 4 years ago. Teachers are busy people but when they take the time to sit down and write a card or email out to support our family for a student who has long since passed - what more can you say? If anyone is looking for a loving, nurturing and academically challenging school, you must visit this school!

I have two children at Our Redeemer and we have been part of the school for 5 years. It is a loving and nurturing environment for both our girls and the art, music, and academic programs are outstanding. The teachers care about the growth of each student spiritually, academically and socially. Our children have thrived here and the parent involvement is excellent. The church helps the school financially and the fundraisers and generous donations help keep tuition low. Small class sizes, excellent academics, overall a great school!!!

Enrolling our son in third grade at ORLS was one of the best family decisions we have ever made. From the first time we visited this school, we felt the warmth and kindness from the faculty and staff. It was apparent that creating a loving, yet challenging, environment with a faith-based education is the goal at ORLS. My son is now in 5th grade and every teacher has been "his favorite teacher." As a parent, I love the communication between the teacher and class parents. The administration is always accessible and open and friendly. Our son is thriving academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Thank you ORLS!! We love you!

Children are free to learn, explore and grow in the loving and secure environment provided by all the principal, teachers, pastors and staff at ORLS. Teachers truly care about the children and go above and beyond to make sure each child achieves to their ability. The Spanish program that starts in kindergarten, the Latin program, the Garden, the Accelerated Reading program (which allows your child to read at his or her level), math placement based on ability, are just a few of the unique programs offered here. ORLS educates the whole child....academically, spiritually and socially. My children have been a part of this school for 5 years and I could not imagine having a better partner to help raise them than ORLS.

Our family considers Our Redeemer Lutheran School administration and staff as extended members of our family. Our kids love school. The fine arts program, the computer program, the Spanish program are all excellent examples of a well rounded curriculum created to help our children succeed.

We've had our kids at ORLS since they were babies and have seen them flourish academically, socially, and spiritually through the years. The teachers are outstanding and the leadership is very supportive and professional. Academics are very strong and the kids place in the top percentiles on standardized testing each year. The school promotes a loving and supportive environment for all of the students and it has been a blessing being able to send our children to ORLS. Highly recommended.

We love Our Redeemer Lutheran School! Our kids have been students there since they were two years old. Originally we had planned to just send them to the preschool because our public elementary was great. However, everyone at Our Redeemer was so warm and caring and our daughter was doing so well that we decided to go ahead enroll her in Our Redeemer's Kindergarten. Now both of our children are in the upper grades at Our Redeemer and doing extremely well. We love the individualized attention that the kids receive from the teachers. We are thrilled with the core academics (particularly math!) as well as the fantastic supporting classes (art, music, and computers). The best part is that everything is wrapped in a loving Christian environment. The principal is amazing - she knows each of the kids individually and is very supportive of the teachers. We also really appreciate the high degree of parental involvement - the parents are very engaged and actively support the education of their children. We truly feel that we are part of a great family here, and our children are getting a wonderful education.

So sad that this could be a good school except for the major amount of bullying and certain parent favoritism. Simply put if your child is a bully then this school is for you. I even think that the staff is bullied by some of the parents.. so sad because most of the staff is amazing

We have been beyond blessed by Our Redeemer Lutheran School (ORLS). The teachers and staff are incredible. They truly care for our son and family as a whole. Our son is gaining not only a strong education but a foundation of faith in a loving and nurturing environment. He is thrilled each day to go to school each day and we are thrilled to be part of the ORLS family.

Both of my children have attended ORLS, and their experience has been amazing. Our principal, teachers and staff are unparalleled in their desire to teach, nurture and minister to my children. The education, study and life skills--taught in a Christian environment- have prepared them for the challenges of jr high and high school. Their ability to navigate tough situations while keeping the moral truths instilled in them since they were two is priceless!

As soon as we toured, we knew this was the right school for our son. He started in Pre-K 3 and he has thrived at ORLS. Besides getting a great education; he has Chapel, Art, PE, Spanish and Music classes, and much more. From the 6th graders to Pre-K 2, this school has a great mentoring program. This school has become an extension of our family.

My daughter is 2 years old and this is her first time in a formal learning environment. When my husband and I toured ORLS we fell in love. The administration, the teachers, the classrooms, the library, the gymnasium and the chapel all exceeded our expectations. We toured two other facilities and they didn't even compare. Our daughter has never been to daycare or school and she took to the teachers in her class immediately and loves going to school every day! The teachers of PK2, Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Timberlake, are so loving and tender and at the same time encourage the kids to be independent. That is just what a parent hopes for their child. Each Friday I'm so excited to get the weekly email from the teacher going over what they learned during the week and what they will cover the next week. My daughter's vocabulary has skyrocketed and she is maturing leaps and bounds since being enrolled in ORLS. Being new to the school we have felt like the administration makes every effort to welcome you to the ORLS family. We have attended most of the school events and have noticed that there is so much parent and family participation. I would absolutely recommend ORLS for any age!

My daughter is so happy in this school that on days that she doesn't attend she tells me she misses it. She absolutely LOVES her teacher and I, too, think she is pretty wonderful. It is a very nurturing environment and I feel confident that my child will learn a lot here.
Posted: October 16, 2013
The small class size promotes academic excellence, but so many more life skills! Nearly every teacher, aid and administrator addresses our daughter on a first name basis. The nurturing environment helps instill confidence and aids in shaping her future. Experienced teachers help build her strong foundation. In addition it's an afordable option, and as a bonus - centrally located! Our daughter loves school and looks forward to learning each day. You can t ask for more than that.

Precious school with a top notch faculty and staff. My son is in the preschool program at Our Redeemer, and I really cannot say enough wonderful things about this school. At the end of the day, I think a school comes down to its teachers - the ORLS faculty genuinely cares about their students growth and development. They go the extra mile to make those challenging life stages seem welcomed and appreciated. They accommodate when accommodating is necessary and value parent feedback and involvement. They strive to make the transition from home to school a smooth one. They provide sensory learning and plenty of playtime and lots of love. ORLS is developmentally appropriate and values a kids being a kid. I love it and my son loves it. I agree with a previous reviewer who called the school, a "hidden gem." It is. It is just that.

This is our fifth year at the school. It is one of DFW hidden gems. The teachers are excellent, the curriculum challenging, wonderful principal and great families. We cannot be happier our children are flourishing and absolutely love going to ORLS.

This is our fourth year in the school we cannot be more pleased. The quality of the education is unsurpassed and the teachers are amazing. I have been so impressed with the principal, teachers and staff ability to deal with parents, grandparents and children with integrity and focus on doing the "right" thing. This is an excellent school that focused on teaching the whole children so not only are academics excellent but also daily life values and morals are emphasized. We could not ask for a better place to have our children. The tuition is so reasonable!
