Our daughter has been attending the Corner Cottage program since 10 weeks old. They send updates all day on her diapers, feeding and nap schedule. They send pictures. They have an app that makes everything easy. The longer hours of 7 am to 6 pm really help with work schedules. Everyone working there has been kind and courteous and my daughter is happy each day when I pick her up.

We came here for summer swim lessons and I will never ever bring my kids back. Administration is rude and totally unorganized. The parent-teacher (admin) communication is terrible. The bad vibe is palpable the second you walk through the doors. Send your kids elsewhere!

Don't be fooled. What you see is NOT what you get. Families are initially sold a wonderful depiction of a fairytale school....WRNS is so far from what they try and sell you during open houses and tours. The office staff is very rude and condescending towards teachers, parents, and children. There are and have been a ton of great teachers at this center who love children and who love what they do, but WRNS is unable to keep these teachers long. Management is most definitely to blame for the high teacher turn over rate. There is zero support for teachers. Teachers are taken advantage of, treated poorly, and lied to. Administration has zero regard for employment/ labor laws. The parents are often lied to as well. The issues with administration take away so much from the positive things that could be and should be happening in this school. This school has so much potential but instead it is slowly slipping down the drain. So sad for the late founders of this school. They would be so ashamed.

Aside from being a little passive aggressive when minor issues arise, the teachers in the Corner Cottage are wonderful. They definitely love these little ones and, most importantly, the little ones love them!

Administration has little regard for the family as a whole. They dismiss children for having accidents. They called when a child had an accident and made the parent come and change the child. What about this not shaming the child and the parent. Children have accidents!!

White Rock North has been a wonderful experience since day one at the Corner Cottage for our family. We feel at home here and our children adore it. You will not find another curriculum like the one at WRNS. You will just be amazed at what your child learns! The school offers much more than just a great education for all ages, they make life-long friends, tend to a garden and chickens, learn to swim, learn to roller skate and participate in the most fun musical programs (these are so cute!). We trust all the staff with our children and our children LOVE them and going to school every day. We cant ask for more!

My daughter has attended White Rock North School for the past 4 years and it has been a blessing. We started in the cottage when she was only 6 months old. It was easy to see how the staff cares about their students and the one on one attention is incredible. I am constantly impressed with the level of learning that goes on there and I even receive feed back and encouragement from the principal on the day to day tasks my daughter is working on. I have had many friends enroll their children here and that is how we found the place. I hope to pass on to young families the same great advice I got. If you are looking for safe loving and next level education for your child I encourage you to look into White Rock North.

I am constantly hearing how Ms. Collins or Ms. Betty would react to certain situations, good or bad. They words ring a bell.

At four years old I feel like it is just right. Too much would be hard to focus on at that age.

White Rock North School keeps things fair and in order. No favoritism shown. They learn how to treat each other with respect.

White Rock North School is a great experience for kids. It's refreshing to know there is a private school here that helps them grow into successful adults and remember their experience fondly. The teachers are caring and exceptional. To be a Mustang stays with a young person for their entire lifetime.

We love this school, we have a second and fifth grader at WRN, who have been there since three months old. Between learning a year ahead, excellent teachers, skating, recess 2-3 times a day, swimming, including teaching swimming, the garden and the chicken coop, you can't ask for much more. Both of our girls have tested out of their grade for their education and we are thankful for the program and staff.

Our child currently attends the WRNS for the 2014-2015 year and we are disappointed. We have not reenrolled. The teachers are very pleasant but they are often over shadowed by the domineering administration. Pretty much all the negative reviews I have read mention how unprofessional the administration is and I totally agree. The owners and administration set the tone for a school and unfortunately a negative tone is set towards the love of learning, creativity and simply just being a kid here. I have toured pretty much all the private schools in our area and North Dallas and I have never seen such a negative environment quite like WRNS for education. For all the great preschool and schools out there, this is not a place that I would recommend.

I posted one of the previous 5 star reviews about a year and a half ago. Since that time my opinion of the school has changed completely. The communication from the administration is horrible and often times confusing and contradictory. There is no flexibility and they always act as if the parents are the basis for all of the problems at the school. The administration is the most patronizing group of women. I still give the school two stars because all of the administration problems do not spill into the classroom. Our children still receive excellent care and education. And we have enjoyed all of the families we have met there but I am counting down the days until we leave.

This is an amazing school and they do an excellent job nurturing and educating the children and grades of all ages. After over 6 years at this school, I truly have nothing but good things to say about the staff and experience. You will feel part of a family here in a place where you can always voice concerns and see results. Both of my children have tested, each year, two or three years ahead of their grade. The smaller class sizes are a plus for the children's learning atmosphere.

This is one of the great small schools in Texas. My granddaughter has had an amazing experience here for the last 3 years. The kids are taught so much more than academics. They are really good people that run this school. Trust me, as a grandma, check it out.

I agree with some of the other reviews that the school is really a day care. We were underwhelmed with the quality of the education at the grade level. Turnover with teachers and hard to work with owners. It's a family-run business trying to compete with more top notch schools (public and private) in the area. Ultimately, we moved our son. Once we did, we realized the deficiencies in curriculum - he was quite behind in 2 core subjects but was able to catch up academically and socially in the right setting.

Our son attended White Rock North from 4th grade until he graduated as a 6th grader. As an entering student, he was more than a year below reading level and about 18 months behind in math. By the end of his first year at White Rock North, our son was testing at post high school levels for vocabulary and had caught up in math. This school was truly a blessing for us.

My son started the PreK program as a 5 year old this year. As an educator in the area, I knew what was expected in public kindergarten and felt my son's previous school was not readying him enough for that, so we enrolled him in WRNS. I am an alum of WRNS and have known the principal and program for many years. I cannot tell enough people enough good things about the PreK program! His academics have soared! His previous behavior probelms are not as frequent and are handled in a positive way and are communicated to us daily. The principal, director, and his teacher worked closely with us when his breathing treatments in the morning were the culprit for his misbehaviors and now he is successful the majority of the days! I am so pleased with this program, the teachers, the curriculum, and the success we are seeing in him!

I credit White Rock North with my son's development. from the moment he entered the corner cottage, their nurturing and attentive staff helped my son thrive in a social, academic setting. I honestly don't know what our lives would be like without this school and the amazing teachers. They are phenomenal and truly love my child and want to see him develop. The principal and staff are easy to talk to, and take a very tailored individual approach to development. I will send all of my kids here!

I am so disappointed with White Rock North School. My son attended this school until October of 2013. He enjoyed the summer program, however as soon as the school year started his entire demeaner and attitute changed. I talked to the principal and she said she would observe my son. In the half hour she spent in the classroom with him she determined he was ADHD and advised me to give him soda's to counteract the hyperactivity. I was floored and alarmed. I also found out that the prek teacher seated my son away from his classmates and had labeled him a "problem". My son has been traumitized by the time that he spent at White Rock North. He is not in a loving environement and is receiving therapy for the trauma of attending this school. Save the mental health of your children and go elsewhere.

We've been truly disappointed with WRNS. The other posters here have shared the school is essentially a day care versus a grade school. I agree wholeheartedly. High turnover with teachers, classes dwindling and it's not very professionally run. For the dollars and issues we've had to endure, we are moving on.

The administration at the school can be very difficult to work with. I have had children attending the school since 2008 but can no longer overlook the negative feelings about the scool. The staff (excluding room teachers) give the impression that they are doing you a favor working with your kids and have even yelled at parents. I understand strict adherence to rules, but when working with small children and lots of different families, a little flexibility goes a long way.

Our daughter started kindergarten this year at White Rock North. We are so pleased with her progress within such a short period of time. The school is providing a quality of education that has far exceeded our expectations. WRNS has a great mix of enthusiastic teachers, dedicated administration, and involved parents. The school provides a safe and caring environment that we feel completely comfortable sending our daughter, and future children to. Her face is priceless when she comes home with vegetables that she picked out of the school garden. We know she is at the right school when she wakes up every morning excited to go to school! Dance, swimming, and roller skating are just a few added bonuses to this amazing school. We look forward to the years ahead!

My son has been at white rock north since he was 12 months old. We have had nothing but great experiences there. They have an indoor pool, skating rink, they are now using ipads in the classroom as well which is a wonderful opportunity for children to get familiar with using technology. The children are learning one grade ahead making the school stand out academically. The school recently updated their security by installing fencing and require picture ID's before the child is released. They also have a garden where the children harvest their own veggies that are in turn cooked by the onsite chef. The activity center has been updated as well and now has an Xbox 360. The staff is helpful and encourage parent involvement. All in all I would highly recommend this establishment to any and everyone! -Lindsay Faries

I get to see the results of White Rock North 2 or 3 nights a week as my grand children come to our house after school. The homework they are assigned and the projects they engage in are serious and appropriately demanding. Additionally the periodic music programs they perform are the best I've seen in 30 years of attending school programs. When you add the supplemental things they do with gardening and their continuing investment in technology upgrades you can see an exciting environment being built over the last year.

White Rock North School is located in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas, TX. It is an excellent school providing infant care, pre-school and elementary classes. My grandchildren attend Kindergarten and 3rd grade. I am very pleased with the academic progress that they are achieving. I attribute that to the outstanding teachers and the individualized attention that the children receive in the classrooms. The principal, Mrs. Amy Adams ensures that the school provides a very warm, caring, supportive, and educationally stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. There are swimming classes, tumbling classes, dance classes, and roller skating, just to mention a few of the extras offered at the school. What more could you ask for!

White Rock North School is an excellent place to send your infants, toddlers, pre-K, and graders. My son started in the Corner Cottage as an infant and is currently in the 3rd grade. The time he has spent at this school has been a blessing. He has received a fundamentally sound education, and the environment lends to reinforcing manners, self confidence, and individuality. From top to bottom the administration and staff are motivated to providing a safe and stimulating atmosphere. They truly give the attention each child deserves. WRNS offers martial arts, swimming and dance lessons. They have beautifully maintained playgrounds, roller skating rink, activity center, and modern computer lab. The after school care, and summer camp program are topnotch! Thank you WRNS.

White Rock North is a day care trying to be a private school and failing miserably. Our kindergartner went there for just a couple of months, and we quickly realized this was not the private school education we want for our child. It lacks the resources and imagination to provide anything more than some basic math and reading lessons. The administrators are highly inflexible and act as if they're doing you a favor by allowing your child to be there. They have some highly creative ways of charging you for lots of extras, too. Some of the more positive reviews on this site surprise me, but they must be from parents using the daycare only, before primary school. Anyway, if you are looking for a private school education in Dallas, keep looking. White Rock North is a total waste of $$.

This very small school has good intentions, but it' administrators are inflexible and gossipy. Because the school is privately owned, there is zero recourse for resolving issues - one person's opinion can make or break your child's experience. Better curriculum for girls than boys; teachers are ill-equipped to handle the hand's on/interactive teaching needed by male students and there are no strong male role models.

The pre-school is well run and young children are well cared for, but as a "school" for K - 6, this school just doesn't have what it takes. It's small, the curriculum is academic but limited and the only sport it offers is swimming. We gave it a few months but were extremely dissastisfied with the teachers and the administrators. If you're looking for a strong, well-rounded education, your money is better spent elsewhere.

As an educator and employee of WRNS it is an excellent place to be employed. The administration and staff display such great professional work ethics. The students are taught on a higher level and achive in their endeavors. Every child is unique in his or her own way and WRNS is a great school to enhance and challange the students social skills, gross and fine motor skills as well as theirs academics. I would recommend WRNS to anyone who wants their child/children to be loved, nutured and successful.

My daughter attended White Rock North from Pre-K to 3rd Grade and it was an incredible experience for all of us. She is now in 7th grade at another private school in the area and we were so happy that she was able to do so well on her testing. When WRN tells you they are a year ahead, they are a year ahead. My daughter was nurtured, challenged and held to a high standard that set her up for success. I see the results every day. I am so happy to hear that Amy Adams is back as the principal - I believe in her passion for the school and the children. I have recommended WRN to many of my friends and neighbors and will continue to do so! Elizabeth Britton

I'm honestly surprised at the poor reviews of this school. My daughter has been going to WRN since she was 6 months old and she is now 3 1/2. The administration, staff, and teachers have all been wonderful and have listened attentively and adequately responded to any issues we've ever had (which have been few). My daughter is academically WAY ahead of other kids her age and gets lots of attention from her teachers. She loves going to school every day and that itself speaks volumes. The same 10-15 other children her age have followed her from class to class as she has moved up the age levels, so there is clearly not a lot turnover. That means all the other parents are happy with WRN, as well, and every parent I've spoken to has had nothing but positive comments. WRN is truly a neighborhood gem!

Both of our children went to White Rock North for years. The facilities are good and most teachers are great. The administration and specifically the dirctor, Ms. Keeling, however have been a constant source of frustration. We had had to deal with so many issues that we decided to take both of our children to other schools. We are tired of dealing with Ms. Keeling. She is incredibly rude, singles out children for punishment when she disagrees with parents (this did not just happened to us) and she has pushed the limits to a point where our three-year old son has developed a thorough fear of going to school. In addition, we have had several issues inside the classroom. For example, both of our children have been repeatedly hit or bitten by other children while the teachers or administration have done nothing to remedy these issues. Overall, we do not recommend this school watsoever and we know of close to a dozen parents who have taken their children elsewhere due to concerns about the leadership or rather the lack thereof. We strongly felt that we can find a better eductaion and substantially less hostile envirnoment for the money. I am happy to say that we did.

Our son has been going here since he was a baby. The school has been good but according too him pre-k class was the best. We were fortunate enough to have a teacher that was outstanding! She was a first year teacher and made my sons year very enjoyable. He still talks about all of the things she taught him, genius! This is incredible because my son can be a handful. We will be returning for kindergarten (his teacher plays the guitar in class...very neat) this year and like that our son can keep active in p.e., roller skating (on site), swimming and the music teacher is delightful as well. I agree that the administration is lacking and that concerns could be addressed in a more timely manner, but the cost of tuition for us is consistent with the care and learning environment we feel is best for our child-I still wish my son's pre-k teacher could move to the grader building with him....she truly is a fabulous teacher. This school is good, I just hope it is fortunate enough to keep its "excellent" teachers so it can be great!

Our experience with the school went from good to terrible. Our son was constantly moved from classroom to classroom and never had a chance to settle in anywhere with no good explanation why. Work sheets were almost always finished by staff and not our son. The place seemed under staffed and the prek teachers not properly trained. The swimming lessons seem like a great idea until you realize your paying for only 15min. The only positive thing about the school is the corner cottage and its staff.
