This is an amazing school. The teachers really care. They are not going to sugarcoat the way other private schools do. Honest and dedicated to each child. If you want the social links that come with private schools, this school is not it! They are only interested in the kids and could care less what parents do for a living. Refreshing change from last school.

I believe the homework the teachers give is adequate for the grade level. My grandson has been there for three years and he gets excited about his homework. He feels accomplished when he's done.

Like the teachers, the head of the school is nice. However she is not effective unless your child is an academic superstar. She is biased toward parents whose children are overachievers. She loves parents who are very wealthy — makes sense I guess.

The homework does not prepare kids for high school. The exception is when you have an exceptionally gifted child. There are a few of those here, and they were definitely not ignored.

We had a hard time in public schools Our children were not happy, they hated everything about school. Now, they are confident, silly, and fun kids. The anxiety is gone. My kids are happy.

EPCDS ensures that the school is a safe both physically and emotionally. Bullying is not tolerated, and teachers work quickly to intervene so students are comfortable in their learning environment. Everyone is treated equally, and respect is something students are taught from their very first day at school.

Homework is structured in a manageable way, and students are taught how to utilize homework time appropriately. As they progress through each grade level they gain an additional sense of independence and responsibility while still being supported by the teachers. There are tutoring opportunities weekly and teachers keep parents informed of progress through weekly letters.

The teachers and staff at EPCDS are excellent. They work hard to individualize each child's learning experience, and often spend extra time working with students who need additional help before/after school. The teachers truly care about each student and family.

They believe that not all children learn the same, and provide different areas in the classrooms for that too. Each child has a curriculum specific to what they need-depending if they need to be challenged more in certain areas, or if they need alittle more help in others.

The homework given only takes my 1st grader about 15 minutes to do and it challenges him at the same time. Which is great!

I only remember having a select few teachers that I loved growing up. But at EPCDS, my son has something great to say about every single teacher, even if he isn’t in one of their classes. Each teacher is very involved and personal. You can tell that is isn’t a job for them, but that they love to teach and be a part of this school

5 stars - as someone who was always gifted, but shy; excelled at lots and yet was challenged with math; was at a school for the privileged and yet was socio economically challenged, I Always felt at home, challenged and included at EPCDS.

What an amazing school. My child has been at this school for about 8 years and I wouldn't take him anywhere else. I feel very lucky to be part of this school, which helps students excel while helping them to become world citizens that care about each other.

0 Tolerance! EPCDS' 4 Guidelines address bullying across the board and handles it immediately if it should happen. The school emphasized kindness and equality for all and it shows with the happy smiles I see when I drop off and pick up my daughter.

All the teachers are experienced and most have a Master's degree. My child has several teachers for her different subjects and they are all extremely carrying and knowledgeable. My daughter is so happy to go to school every day.

EPCDS doesn't have a lot of 'don'ts" but rather a policy of 4 guidelines that ensure the safety of the students. I don't believe you can find another school that cares so much for their students. It is like a family.

The homework given is fair and equitable. The policy is 10 minutes per grade level and this has been exactly correct for my child. She is in 2nd grade and has just about 20 minutes of homework and looks forward to completing it and sharing with me.

Homework is not only overwhelming but useless. You has to sign every day if your child did by himself the homework. It might seem OK if the homework were meaningful. It is a mere waste of time for your child and yourself. For example, the next day after the teacher asked for a homework about "Heritage" to my grandson, my grandson was bullied because of his heritage by three classmates in the cafeteria of the school.

The teacher of my grandson in EPCDS studied a degree in politics, and she is already studying a degree in education, so she is not fully trained regarding education but politics.

In my experience is obvious this school lacks integrity, compassion and respect. If a teacher is not showing up for a class and your child is put on daycare without letting you know about this situation, it demonstrates a lack of respect to me. If a teacher says she cares about all her students, but misinform you regarding the reading level of your child, it demonstrates a lack of integrity.

They do not like criticism. A real leader accepts responsibility and makes a commitment to improve. In EPCDS they prefer to deny, argue, a provide vague responses than accept a different opinion. My grandson knows about many advance concepts and has many talents, but in this school he felt like in a jail, unable to exploit his potential because his teacher ignored him and lavished time and resource on other students.

I am glad we could move off my grandson from this terrible school and know he is reaching his real potential in a great school. I expect no more people make the same mistake my family did enrolling your kids in EPCDS. The only day my grandson was truly happy attending this school was during the "free demo day" to test out if the school fitted with my grandson. That day he was lucky enough to be one of the lavished children. For your awareness, once you enroll your child in this school, the school will charge you the entire academic year, and no single penny is refundable no matter you child stay in that school only a few weeks.

I absolutely love this school. My wife and I feel comfortable with the care our son receives and he has come so far academically in just a few short months. Bravo EPCDS!!!!

This was an important point for me to stay in this school. My son tends to be shy and sometimes has a hard time communicating. His teachers have worked with him in a way that has let him step away from his shell and improve his expression.

As I mentioned before, my son's confidence has boosted up. I feel happy when he gets out of school and he's so excited about what he did that day. His classmates are kind between each other and they look like they are having fun together.

My son has a very shy personality, in the time that he has been in EPCDS he has come out of his shell and shown me a different side of him. I can see him interacting with other children more often and expressing himself openly. I believe it has to do with the way they are teaching him, his confidence has boosted.

Excellent. My daughters are so happy and they look forward to going to school EVERYDAY. When I arrive to pick them up in the afternoon, they want to stay longer. I appreciate that many of the teachers have Master degrees and the communication between home and school is so much better than our previous school.

EPCDS is a wonderful school with teachers who really care about the students. My son felt like the odd man out in public school and he has found his people here. The school has the best Math team in west Texas, scores at the top of standardized tests and students average a grade or two above their own grade level. They also teach kids to care about the community and how to be empathetic. It is a great environment.

I love El Paso Country Day School, but more importantly my children do! It has been an absolute joy to watch them grow and learn in a safe and nurturing environment. We visited several private schools before deciding to enroll our children at EPCDS, and it was truly the best decision we made. My children are surpassing and reaching goals that I have never dreamed of! Teachers and staff are amazing and completely devoted to all the students. The individualized attention to help each student reach their goals and achievements is unmatched. This school cultivates little minds into amazing problem solving geniuses. In short there is truly no other school like this in El Paso!

El Paso Country Day School far exceeded our expectations. As a military family, we move a lot and finding a school that incorporates a family like community is reassuring. Especially when my daughter from day one has come home from school smiling and excited to attend again the next day. The faculty really took an interest in my child's behavioral and educational development. My child just turned 4 in November and she is already reading small books! I do not believe my daughter would be where she is now if it wasn't for the superb dedication the faculty provides to each student.

We have had to make several moves due to transfers at work so I consider myself somewhat of an expert on schools. When we came to El Paso we struck gold. It was as though my children had found paradise. Never before had they been so excited about learning and self discovery. My little one cries on weekends because School is closed. I dread our next move because I know we aren't going to find another EPCDS.

We are extremely pleased with the education and personal attention received from the teachers at EPCDS. Our son has been a student there for the past 3 years. His teachers have worked with him through difficult times, including personal battles with growing up and home life. EPCDS has caring teachers that go out of their way to make sure that each student is receiving the best possible education. The teachers have volunteered personal time (before school, during breaks, after school) to work with my son to ensure that he did not fall behind in classes. I have no doubt that they would do the same for any EPCDS child. In addition, there is zero tolerance for bullying and my child feels comfortable speaking to his teachers about any subject. We've even been able to count on his teachers for extra support with regards to personal issues. There is an open invitation for parent/teacher relationship. The quality of teaching is exceptional. My son's scores on the standardized tests were off the chart. We are blessed to have found such a great school. I highly recommend this school to anyone seeking an excellent education for their child(ren) in a safe and positive environment.

I am very happy to have my children in this school. My children's academics achievements have been great since they started attending this school. Everybody in the school knows one another. It is like a big family working toghether to accomplish the objective to raise our children while teaching them values that will follow for the rest of their lifes.

Very unsatisfactory. My child did not receive individualized attention. A few of "the favorite" students are lavished with attention, while the other students are allowed to just drift. My child's grades have dropped and we will not be returning next year.

EPCDS is El Paso's hidden academic treasure. My son has attended it for two years and he has advanced more academically than his twin brother who is in gifted and talented programs at the highest rated public schools in El Paso. Though there are other private schools in El Paso with larger student bodies and greater resources, having seen friends' children attend these, I know first hand that EPCDS provides a stronger academic environment. I have referred this school first to anyone who has asked for recommendations as to El Paso private and public schools.

I love EPCDS. This is my son's 4th year and he has grown into a great student. They have teachers that really, really care. They encompass what elementary school teachers should be. He used to hate history, now he loves it. He used to read only because he had to and know he reads because he wants to. I strongly recommend this school.

I work at El Paso Country Day School as a pre-K teacher. I really enjoy the small school atmosphere where everyone knows each other and wants to be helpful. The director has a strong vision for the school and the administration is very supportive. The teachers are given freedom from constrictive testing and allowed to use their experience and skills to tailor their curriculum to the needs of the students.

My daughter came into the school a full 2 years behind in reading and math. Due to the small size and caring nature of ALL the teachers, my daughter is at grade level. Many of the kids at EPCDS are well ahead of their grade level, but our family considers our daughter's improvement a near miracle. My daughter's confidence and love of learning, while not setting a world record, has improved to the point that Iris is able to function in school at her grade level. The activities my daughter has always loved, art and outdoor activities, are allowed to flurish through art comptetitions and outdoor camping trips. I am grateful that my family learned about EPCDS; without it, I fear my daughter would have been left to fall between the cracks. Bob Wilson

I decided to move my son from his private school a week into this semester, and after visiting several other schools (though they were all nice) there was no question in my mind regarding where I would send him. El Paso Country Day School really stood out in the way that they foster critical thinking, creativity and practical application of material taught. The entire staff, including office and administration, takes a hands-on approach, and everyone does their part to shape the children s self-esteem and use of reason, as well as helping them learn to respect and have consideration for others, and other points of view. Discussion is always welcome and encouraged in social and academic subjects, and the children come to their own conclusions and truths, through the use of rationale and logic. Regarding social skills, the staff really shines, leading by example and displaying consideration and courtesy not only to each other and parents, but as well to every child. There truly aren t enough stars for this school. My son and I couldn t be happier. I know that they are helping him develop invaluable life skills and tools that will serve him well through all his years.

This summer I started to look for a new school for my son after I felt that he was not challenged at his school. I toured many private schools before going to El Paso Country Day School. The staff answered all of my questions and were very good with my son. The school environment made me feel so comfortable that I did not hesitate and enrolled my son. I felt more comfortable in this school in a few hours than I ever did at my son's former school or the other schools that I visited. When people care about your child, you can feel it.

Our son is in his second year at EPCDS now and it's apparent we have made the right choice (we looked at Radford, St. Marks, Loretto, St. Clements, etc.). For the last year +, we've watched our son excel in his studies and actually WANT to learn. The only problem he struggled with was with one other student who was constantly pestering him and bullying him. We tried to encourage him from our end. Finally, after over a year of this consistent struggle, we looked to the administration for guidance and help. They took immediate action and worked to remedy the situation. I really appreciate that EPCDS not only values excellence in education, but really cares about the safety and well-being (physically, mental and emotional) of our babies. Next year, all of our children will be enrolled at EPCDS. I cannot speak more highly of this school.

My child has gone to this school for the last five years and I find the previous post amusing. The school is rigorous and they have a no nonsense policy when it comes to child safety. This is not a social motivation but a genuine concern for the student body. The teachers and administration will dedicate their lives to the students and they go above and beyond what is typical of an educator. I would recommend this school with no hesitation.

I am very dissatisfied with this school i've noticed many things in just the first 2 months of my son being enrolled here. 1rst was that the director took my sons USB under suspicion and without telling the parents or him they wiped it of all its contents. It had both personal and school related things. They kept it for a week and 1/2 during this time my son was kept from doing work from two classes since all his work was saved in it. The USB had nothing they suspected that it had. 2nd thing i've noticed was that an email was sent to me saying that because my son has been absent numerous "six times" times since he has been there he will not be allowed to attend his first class. When he was late to class the next time by what was just four minutes they kept him from his class the entire period. Now that day he it was not all his fault since part of it was out of his hands. I've noticed one student walks into school late a little after mine does more than six times, my son has informed me that they have not detained him. 3rd they said if he does not bring in an assingment (which was not done due to other obligations) he won't be allowed to come to school tomorrow.

I have been a teacher at EPCDS for quite awhile and I wake up everyday happy to go to work because I believe in the school. The staff genuinely cares about your children like they were our own and it is a great community.
