This school was good 8 years ago but now is substandard. I moved out of the district to seek better Public School options for my children. The teachers appear to be on auto pilot and do not really care about the students education. The school counselors do not care either. For all the funding this school district gets from property taxes. They can do better but just dont care/ Pathetic really.

Haltom High School suffers from feckless leadership. The new Principal has caused the moral of the teachers to plummet to an all time low. Great teachers continue to seek employment elsewhere. He is changing Haltom High into an inner city school. We once has a very strong Advanced Academics program, but the loss of AP teachers will continue to see the decline in academics at all levels.

My child is a recent graduate of Haltom High. She currently attends UT Austin with plans for law school after that. The AP classes provided the challenging curriculum that she needed. Discipline is an important component of this school and I like that. I think the diversity of this school is its biggest asset. She had friends of all colors and economic backgrounds. The empathy and compassion she felt for others not born with her advantages (white/middle class) is invaluable.

My third child is in 11th grade at this school. My kids have all had good experiences. The teachers seem genuine and caring. The fine arts programs at this school go above and beyond in excellence. Two of my kids were in band and the other in theatre.

The staff is mostly fine, but the APs really need to lighten up. Haltom Middle Schools had APs that smiled at you, and said hi to you. These APs never smile, and they never talk to any students. It's not hard to share a smile once in a while....

Good communication with teachers. Lots of after school activities. Love the Athletics department. I have 2 kids attending this school and they like it. As much as any kid can possibly like school. :)

I'm currently a freshman attending Haltom High School. The students are so culturally diverse and that makes it somewhat fun to come to school everyday. Most of the teachers want to help us, the students, achieve our goal of going to college. However, there are some students who definately slow the class down, they never do their work no matter how hard the teachers push them, as a student this absolutely is the thing that frustrates me most about this school. The majority of the administrators that I know are pretty helpful and fair but I do agree that some aren't very people-orientated. The fine arts program is pretty successful as the band placed 12th in the UIL state marching competition out of 264 6A bands in Texas. However the football team didn't have the same luck, I'll let the excuse that the reclassification from 5A to 6A caused them to have a record of 0-10. All in all, Haltom High has a decent learning experience and that's what matters most about ambitious students who want to go to college.

teachers only care about pay checks don't care about fixing up are classrooms instead bought new tv's for the cafeteria. lots of drugs are in the school

My daughter graduated from here & now my son s in 11th grade. We as parents never had any complaints about the school. Our kids love going there & have exceeded there.

This school is great. While some of the administrators are not people friendly it is ulitmately a very good high school. They offer many different things to the students, such as tutorials where teachers take the time to come before school, and stay after school to help the students with different subjects that they may be struggling in. They are definitely on top of their game in terms of keeping the kids safe, and notifying parents of any issues that might occur. The principal is wonderful, he is full of excitement and is very supportive of the students.

I love haltom high school, the teachers are great and there is ALWAYS a place for someone. the hard thing is the students who dont want to try but even then the teahcer really try to help people put with school work and other problems. there im not a poor kid trying to get to college. im in the same boat as alot of people there so it is a very suportive enviorment. and if you disagree then you just try to always look at the wrost things not the best. and i am glad to say im part of the best of haltom

I would have to say that this school is beyond ridiculous. The teachers give no effort to helping a student really understand the problems they are trying to teach. I even had a teacher who would constantly call me seizure girl, instead of my name. When I finally had enough of it, the teacher was eventually suspended from teaching, but it took constant complaints form myself, classmates, and my grandma for them to do something. I even got suspended on the day of finals because of not having my id presented proplerly. I would say that is just plain madness! Haltom faculty really needs to have a sevre reality check!

As a former graduate of Haltom High I must say I am very grateful for my academic experience as well as my interactions with teachers, counselors and deans. Having transferred from the Fort Worth ISD to Haltom enabled me to see the stark contrast in they way both ISD's are managed. Haltom High School offers a much broader variety of scholastic and extra curricular programs. The teachers are genuinely concerned in making an impact on their students. When I am asked about favorite teachers, I can definitely name several at Haltom High.

Great location and lots of great programs for the students. Large student parking and the counselors are awesome. It is newly rennovated and has a great football team. I didn't give it 5 stars because there is no swimming pool. Other than that my children's overall experience was great.
