We love the school and the community. We are blessed to have our children attend this amazing school and highly recommend it to any family, not only for the academic excellence that we are seeing our children obtain but also if you are looking for an environment where the formation of the whole family is key to your happiness. The school not only cares about the students, but they will also give the families the support needed in many aspects. There are many activities that give you the opportunity to grow in faith as well as bond in the community.

I feel my children spend the necessary time dedicated to homework without them not having enough time to play in the afternoon and/or dedicate time to extracurricular activities.

Teachers are approachable and we can be in contact to make sure our kids are on track and progressing as expected. When we have found a child in a situation that they need additional support, the school has an after school program where tutoring is offered on a more personal basis, and getting the kids back on track is manageable and easy to accomplish.

I have seen from all my children situations where they have to show that character and I am proud to say that they are growing in virtue day by day. I can tell how important it is as parents to share the same view with the school on this aspect because the school becomes the extension of our parenting values. This is why we chose a Regnum Christi school for our four children.

I absolutely love this community and the blessings that I see at home with our children. When visiting my children at the dinner table, our conversations are so much deeper regarding the faith and academic knowledge. We also really love the priests and consecrated mixed into their daily experience at the school. So grateful we found this school 3 years ago!

While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, my middle school child spends about 30 minutes a night on his nightly homework. Of course, if there is a test/quiz, then more time is spent preparing. I think it all depends on your child's study habits.

The Highlands School is a private school with limited resources for children with severe learning differences. No child is perfect and The Highlands is able to effectively support those students who have mild to moderate learning differences.

As with any school, there are a few teacher who are not able to adjust to different student needs, but overall I have been very please with the quality of the teaching staff. Several of the teachers are extraordinarily good!!!

There is a lot of homework when participating in sports too. These kids burn the candle keeping up with all there studying, but get lots of scholarships to college as well!!!

My son has found the High school to be a place he can explore different interests and grow in leadership. He is in Football, Spanish Honor Society, NHS, Choir, etc.! The Catholic spiritual formation is a strong support for us as Christian parents. They have the boys and girls separated for core classes, but get to mix in Choir and AP classes- the best of both worlds!

My daughter has excelled in every way at The Highlands School. Not only is she receiving a top-notch college preparatory education, but she has excellent opportunities to grow in other ways, including athletics, theater, choir and student leadership. She is supported in her spiritual formation and with service opportunities. The atmosphere of the school is loving and caring, with many wonderful families, and my daughter is very happy. We are very blessed to be at The Highlands School and willingly make the 25-mile drive to bring her there.

My 5th grader just started at The Highlands in the fall. We looked at 4 Catholic schools in Dallas area and ultimately chose The Highlands because they offer 1) a robust 3 season school-sponsored sports program (DPL league) 2) same gender classes starting in 4th grade up through HS (no other co-Ed school in Dallas area offers this!) 3) it's PK - 12 so we don't need to change school and 4) the formation is incredible and true, not staged. No matter how much research you do on schools, checking reviews, conferring with friends/neighbors... You never really know how you're going to like the school until you're there. I am so pleased with The Highlands and feel lucky that we are there. We drive 25 minutes from Dallas to get there and it's worth it.

Our family came to the Highlands almost 9 years ago and our hearts have been engaged ever since. First and foremost is the formation that our whole family has received by being a part of the community not only from the on staff priests and consecrated women but via each staff person to family to individual. We have seen the school maintain a steady overall underlying virtue of charity and truth while offering formation not only for the students but for the whole entire family.

PreK3 last year, starting education with the right foot, the best decision as parents we could had made, our daughther is growing in both areas, academicaly and growing in the love of God. The THS is like a big family and we are happy to be part of it.

My daughter has been attending the school for past 5 years now, and we have had an excellent experience with the school. Not only are they imparting a leading edge education to our daughter, but are also instilling the life values in her to make her an excellent human being. They have high quality educators at every level to guide and mould the young minds into independent thinkers and high achievers.

We are parents of a 4th grade boy and a 2nd grade girl. We love everything about the school. Fee quite low compared to some of the highly reputed schools in Dallas area resulting in high student to teacher ratio. However, the school still manages to train children with good values and education, thanks to the wonderful community spirit amongst parents and teachers.

We have been at The Highlands School for the past 7 years. I am continually impressed with the academics of the school and the compassion and knowledge of their Religious support staff. The principal is passionate about education and the team at THS carries the schools mission of 'always higher'. I could not of found a better school for my children and my family.

This is our second year at THS. I am very impressed with the rigorous academics and commitment to Catholic values. The average class size is 16 to 18 but our son has 12 in his class this year. The individual attention given by his teacher is amazing. She knows each child's learning preference and works hard to help each child succeed. Our first grader is reading at a third grade level thanks to the excellent foundation in phonics provided by his Kindergarten teacher. They read in small groups of 4 to 5 with a teacher. The top readers can practice material above grade level while other students get on grade level reading every day. Math in the lower school is by the Saxon method. In addition to nightly fact sheets, there is a worksheet covering math theory and concepts. Handwriting is taught in the younger grades and helps provide a good foundation for life. I am so impressed by the school's commitment to the building blocks of education. Phonics, math facts and handwriting are mastered by first grade so each year builds so such a wonderful foundation. My son is also taught compassion, respect and love for others. THS is a blessing for my son!

The Highlands is a near perfect fit for my two high school students. They have undergone a huge transformation in the last few years. Academics are strong and the students are more than ready for college. The formation is incredible and the teachers spend an immense amount of time with students who need help as well as students who are working through AP classes. The Highlands is different, special and worth a look.

This is a dirty school in disrepair and though the tuition is outrageous, it is obvious most of the families pay little or no tuition. It's a no don't go to families of means.

We have been at THS for the last two years. And I strongly recommend the school. It is the place where my children want to be. They really enjoy the environment, the espiritual support and moral values are fantastic. We are building as a family excellent men and women for the future.

We have three children (7th, 3rd and entering PK3) at The Highlands, our experience at the school has been great. Our children love their school and admire their teachers. As parents we beleive they are being academicaly challenged but more importantly also receive great character and spiritual formation from PK on. The precence of Legionary priests and Consecrated Women is a tremendous example and inspiration for the children as well as resource for us as parents. Overall, we are very pleased with the school and recommend it highly.

We have four children at The Highlands- soon to be five as of this year! Our children are genuinely excited to attend school every day! The Lower School is solid and challenging, the teachers competent and encouraging and available. I am continually impressed as I see the high school students set good role models for and behave kindly to the younger children. As parents, we are looking forward to- and expecting- a solid Middle School these next few years. The presence of the Legionary priests and Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi have been a blessing to our family in many many ways. Confession and daily Mass is a huge blessing. The academics are challenging and the formation solid.

I am a seventh grade student at The Highlands School. I started in PreK3 many years ago! There is Confession all the time. I love going to Mass and Communion Service every day. I have really enjoyed all of my teachers. It is easy to stay after school and to ask for help with things I don't understand. I am so glad I am not in a public school. The Highlands School is a really wonderful place.

The spiritual formation is superb and the community is a wonderful loving family that reaches out with unparalleled generosity and support to all those within it. A woman s intuition can go a long way, but when shopping for a school, wife and husband need to make an informed choice. My instincts about Highlands were quite positive and this impression was confirmed when my son had the chance to shadow at the school a few years ago. He simply said, Yeah, mom, I like it. The classes and teachers are good and the classmates are friendly, not phony. Ever since we ve been involved at Highlands and have seen our children grow and compete smartly in all endeavors. In short Highlands offered our kids a quality education and they ve responded! We give high marks to Highlands.

The Highlands School community is unique. I've never been at a school that is so much like a family. The smaller size allows members of the community to get to know each other better. Parents know the teachers, students know the administrators and everyone is approachable. The small class sizes allow the students to really form a close knit group of friends that includes everyone. I have been at the Highlands for a year and have been impressed by the dedication, commitment, and love that I see my colleges teach and work every day. I am thankful for being here and am proud to call myself a member of the Highlands team. The academic standard to which the students are held has always been good, but was raised this past year and there are more improvements marked for the start of the fall semester. My children have been attending THS for the past 4 years and couldn't be happier. The children are happy and well adjusted and the education and formation that they have received has been truly amazing. My daughter has been accepted to one of the Top 10 Universities and will start in the fall. THS has outstanding teachers, wonderful formation and top level sports. It's important to keep reviews in perspective. There are many reasons that make people post negative reviews. I am happy with everything here and most importantly, my children are in a place where they thrive and love coming to each day.

The School means well but fails in many areas. School administrators and key positions have been a revolving door since we have been there for over 8 years. Teacher quality is very inconsistent and school rules seems to change each year. (Note prior post praising the Principal only 3 weeks 5/23 ago and now he is leaving.) Some years there is no PE other years sports are outright cancelled. The Legionary of Christ Priest are great, the sacrements and spiritual direction are always avaialble and the faith is strongly enriched by the priest, brothers and consercrated women, unfortunatley the school's incompetence at many acedemic and extra-curricular activities creates a warped imbalance of formation for our children and raises the question as to the overall leadership of the school. For several years we have supported the school but now see things getting worse , not better. We have multi children at the school and are now leaving the school. Our children's time is precious and we must be custodians of our finances. THS has failed us in the overall education of our children, there are multi-better Catholic/Christian choices elsewhere in the metoplex. A Parent.

Its been such a disappointment and we've been there for many years...We are not returning....Terrible leadership, financial disaster, and leadership vacuum. They have no direction. The school talks allot about Formation, unfortunately majority of the teachers and admin staff have no idea how to lead by example. The enrollment numbers keep dropping which has meant elimination of certain arts and sports programs. The Highlands School is a school sponsored by the Legion of Christ. My experience with the Legion of Christ has covered almost every area of the school: as a student for 14 years; as part of the administration and leadership team for 20 years and I have taught for just a few years. Recently, I am a parent. Why? I have seen great non legionary schools in my life but there is something that makes the difference for me to choose the Highlands for my kids: many years of experience on many areas and in different Legionary schools have shown me the great impact these schools have on its students. All their schools, including The Highlands, work hard to bring great academic curriculum, support and encourage the athletic formation of each student but above all and most importantly, at least for me, it is the Spiritual and Human formation. I am convinced the formation I received during those years at their schools have given me what it takes to be able to successfully lead my own business and even more importantly, to lead a strong marriage and family. I am not alone... I have classmates and friends who are now, great politicians, great businessmen, wonderful husbands and fathers

I have worked at The Highlands for several years and can not say enough about the quality of faculty and administration. Dr. von Weber, the principal, has put together a team of teachers that is as strong as any that you will find DFW, but it's more than just that just about the academics. Each of his teachers understand teaching to be their vocation, not just a job. As a result, you have an environment where the teachers will do whatever it takes to help the students learn and grow into strong Christian leaders and the students and parents trust that the school is always working in their best interest. If I had school-aged children this is where I'd want them to be. You will not find a more dedicated faculty and administration to partner with in the education of your children.

I am extremely pleased by the formation my children have had in the lower school. I have three children at The Highlands, and they are so happy to be attending. My sense is that they feel safe and supported by the learning environment. The teachers care about our kids and communicate with us clearly. The extra curricular activities--like homecoming week, field day, etc.--are always anticipated by my children with great enthusiasm. They are learning a quality curriculum in a very safe, wooded, and quiet environment. We are very pleased.

I have had three of my five children attend and graduate from the Highlands School. It is the plan of my husband and myself for the other two to graduate from here as well. We love that the Highlands offers not only intellectual formation but that solid Catholic values are taught and lived out (by the faculty) at all times. The school holds itself to a high standard in both these areas. My children who have graduated continued to be actively involved in their faith. The seed planted at Highlands will bear enduring fruit (gospel of John).

The greatest thing about The Highlands School in my opinion is that it is a Catholic school where they actually believe in the teachings of the Catholic Church. At this school it is quite normal for everyone to be loyal to the Catholic tradition and loyal to the Holy Father.

As a parent of two graduates from The Highlands who have since earned degrees from quality colleges and landed meaningful jobs, I have no doubt that the school's mission is genuine. These two boys have become young men who maintain their core beliefs and are fully engaged in modern society. Integral formation works! As a former student who spent eight years at the school i would like to say that though the lower school might be okay the middle and highschool environment are completely out of control. The School's constant changing of principles and directors makes it impossible for the school to have a firm grasp on discipline as well as education. It seemed to me that the schools main focus was to "brainwash" kids into becoming priests. Though some of the teachers had good intentions most of the time they would just have you read the book without going into detail over the material.

I have been teaching at The Highlands for seven years. There are two main reasons that I have stayed, and plan to stay, as long as possible. First is the community of families, colleagues, and administrators. We are not a perfect community (there is no such thing), but we are united by a substantial sacramental life and dedicated to authentic Catholic teaching. The families really care about the school and how their children are educated. The second reason is related to the first: it is the way we teach. As someone put it once, "At The Highlands, we're 'Old School.'" We have all the modern accoutrements that any school has, technology in the classroom, etc., but at the heart of it all is an understanding of the true purpose of education: the formation of the person through the intellect. The academics are rigorous, but the faculty is caring. We understand the formative role of the intellect in relation to the whole person. We do not imitate the vogue and vanguard notions of education as propagated by the public school system. My children go to school here, and I wouldn't have them go anywhere else.

We have been parents at THS for nine years now. All four of our children have started their academic careers in PreK3 with wonderful teachers and aides. The Catholic formation of The Highlands and the community of parents and educators working together set this school apart from all others. We couldn't be happier with the classical curriculum and high academic standards taught at THS. The many priests and religious are such a strong, visible presence leading the school. Our children leave happily for school each day and return with knowledge, confidence and assurance of God's love for them- this speaks volumes to me.

My family has been at The Highlands for eleven years, and both my children have had their entire education to date at THS. Their standardized test scores are above the 86th percentile; they have grown in their Catholic faith; their character has been nurtured and strengthened by the formation offered by the school. I have enjoyed the all-school Masses with the Bishop celebrating. The Catholic faith is lived here, with faculty, staff, students, and families helping and supporting each other through prayer. Faculty is excellent, especially this past year. A teacher won the American Chemical Society s teacher of the year award. AP scores higher than national average. The college counselors are FANTASTIC. A senior this year got a full scholarship to the University of Chicago! Soccer made state finals three times in the last four years, and girls volleyball making the finals this year for the first time! Choir has won state three times in a row. Debate and Model UN garner awards. We love The Highlands and want our children to graduate from a school that prepares them for college through a rigorous curriculum that includes a formation program that will help them throughout life.

My son has attended The Highlands for 4 years now and we have only had fantastic experiences. The small class sizes enable the teachers to be very hands on with the students and the students can get a great deal of attention. The teachers are wonderful to deal with and always have very open communication with the parents. All of the other families and students there are very warm and welcoming making the school feel connected as a family. My son loves going to school there and he will continue to attend for years to come.

We are very pleased with this school. We have had children at the school for several years. The religious formation has always been in the area, but in the past couple of years the academics have improved signficantly with an influx on new teachers (many with advanced degrees) with a love of teaching. Each year the school is getting better and better.

Stay Away from this school. The administration is the worst I have ever seen. We have been at the highlands for many years and in the last two years the school has gone down hill. The administration has no idea how to handle, educate, or discipline the kids in the upper grades. Our kids our bored and have no respect for their teachers. Only about 25% of all 8th graders continue into the high school and that number drops every year. We will not be attending the highlands next year due to the subpar administration and that is being nice.
