Honestly, I am still a child and going into 8th grade but I do like this school and it's a very fun school. Like we have fun opportunities in our electives, however there are some things that I don't really think are right. The budgeting for band is kinda off, for example being in percussion I see the new band students get brand new instruments from the school every year; meanwhile the percussionists have 20 year old equipment. And some of the teachers are just not good. There are teachers that shouldn't be working there anymore, one specific teacher goes after certain kids, and straight up "bullies them". Some teachers are down right disrespectful meanwhile most are kind, understanding, caring, supportive, and respectful!!! but overall I do still really love the school for those good teachers and the friendships I have made in the last 2-3 years.

Just wanted to let you know you all are doing an amazing job! Super impressed with the safety of the school, the new anonymous tip line, the monitoring that goes on with the students. Truly great job. I recently went to have lunch with my son and was very impressed that 3 members of administration were standing front and center to monitor lunch. My son reports there is always staff monitoring the hallways, and he recently reached out due to a bullying situation and it was handled immediately. My son trusts the staff, I trust the staff. I had been fearing for him to go to middle school because of all the stories I heard but so far it has been such a great experience.

My children love this school! They feel very safe and taken care of. All the staff are great at getting kids involved in a positive atmosphere with all the clubs and programs they have to offer. I would highly recommend this school to anyone!

All my kids have walked the halls of WMS. A few years ago we ended up moving and tried the kids out at the schools we were zoned for. During that time grades slipped, behaviors were horrible and staff was not what it should have been. We moved our kiddos back to Watauga and immediately saw an improvement. The faculty and staff have turned into family. The teachers know my expectations of my kids and of them. If I ever had concerns about grades, behavior, accommodations or teachers I would tell a staff member or teacher and all my concerns were addressed in a very timely manner. I could go on and on about how awesome this place is. I would recommend this school to everyone. Remember success is communication, patience and follow through!

I have worked at Watauga Middle School as a teacher for four years now, and I am truly glad I did. The administrative support I have had has been nothing short of phenomenal; teachers are willing to go above and beyond for their students and families and will help with just about anything. I truly appreciate being apart of this family and the students are amazing to work with and help too!

If you are new to the area, I definitely recommend getting to know WMS. It is a great, and prosperous learning environment!!!

Great school for my son. He was in 6th grade last year and will return to the school for 7th grade. The teaching is Amazing!! Teachers are amazing!!!! My son made friends in school and felt safe with the staff. Also my son passed Staar tests for the first time in school there due to the amazing teachers and staff !!!

Every school has area of improvements and WMS is no exception. Education begins at home. Don't transfer this responsibility to school teachers. WMS has one of the best band/music programs in the area. Sports are also taken seriously. Overall satisfied with level education here.

The teachers at WMS are excellent! My kids have loved them. They truly care and communicate well.

I think they mean well with their posters. However when the staff and leadership are not on the same page as the community and parents it's tough for the kids to understand. Actions speak louder than words. Integrity, compassion and respect were not demonstrated to my children. As a parent these 3 core values are important - I'm sad to say the leadership in this school has drastically declined in the last 3 years.

I requested a meeting with the teachers and they were all on board to help my child. However the leadership at this school lack involvement with the parents. The message I received was "we don't want you here"

"Controlled chaos" was the term used to describe the bullying in the lunch room. My son and daughter had a hard time with this.

Unfortunately below standard. I am sad to say I once loved and supported Watauga Middle School. Over the last few years it seems the atmosphere has drastically declined. We love our community and support Watauga! However something has to change or nothing will. Every child and parent deserve the right to be heard and respected. Fear is not an effective tactic in my opinion. I look forward to Watauga Middle School getting back to the basics. Let's raise productive members of society. Our community needs it - Kindness Matters!

My two oldest children go to this school. The staff and administration do not care about your children they are just a number to them. They DO NOTHING TO STOP BULLYING. The Child that does the bulling doesn't get in trouble at all. The front office staff have no communication skills, it is very very stressful trying to talk to them over the phone. They have been very rude to me and I'm just asking simple questions. Our youngest will NOT go to this school, I can not handle going through this school again. I gave two stars because there are some teachers up there that have been good to my kids while they were in their class.
