Bridges is an excellent school Colon very low teacher student ratio, lots of one-on-one, teachers are excellent in their field, homework is a minimal.

We highly recommend Bridges, worth the investment. Our 7th grader struggled with dyslexia in the local schools. Public schools and small private schools she endured being left out socially and feeling like a failure not being able to keep up. Bridges offers a wonderful education and is experienced in how to teach in different ways that make sense to kids who are left behind in traditional school settings. There is no bullying either.

Yes, I used to get a lot of homework for my girls from other schools where they would take hours and be frustrated all evening. What I see here is a lot of repetition, especially around math and reading comprehension. They can actually do it alone now! and the projects are easy and fun for them.

Since children learn in different ways, they have various strategies on how each learns. I have a daughter with autism who I though would never be able to write her name. she gets much individualized attention and is now multiplying! she acts in plays, comes back and tells me the whole history book because she learned it from a play, etc. My other daughter has ADHD and she was flying under the radar at her previous private school with no advancements in learning. I was starting to see a little alienation from the other students. sending her here was great for her, also.

yes, kids learn inclusion and learn to participate. kindness is one of the main qualities they learn towards others and themselves. I wish this school went through high school. They are also taught life skills so that they are able to be in the real world on their own.

not sure if it's student leadership or school leadership... but for kids, plenty of opportunities to be leaders and good peers.

it's what it's all about! my children have different learning disabilities and are give very individualized attention. classes are small and children have a lot of 1:1 time.

My three daughters have been there for 3 years now. All enjoy it very much. they all transferred from Loretto academy and none want to go back. The teachers give above and beyond what each child needs. looks for many ways to make education special for the kids. They are not lenient either. A lot of their focus is on learning with hands on experiments and repetition. It works for my daughters. My only concern is that the school is a non-profit organization and is depends heavily on grants (even though there is tuition). The teachers are there not because they are getting paid the big bucks, but because they truly care for the kids! and the teacher's training is intensive as they have to teach various kinds of learning disabilities.

My son;s reading and math teachers are awesome. My son has dyslexia and in the 2 years he has been there he has made so much progress.

I do find the administration staff unorganized and there is a lack of communication towards the parents and I believe towards the teachers also.

I strongly agree in that, my son started at Bridges with the concept he was not made out for school. He was only 6 years old, now after two years at Bridges he talks about attending college.

My son is going on 3 years attending Bridges, the teachers are great. I am so grateful that he has had a amazing reading teacher Mrs. Ruiz. She is always willing to meet with me and keep me inform on how his progress. Ms. Melissa his math teacher awesome she has so much patience with her students, my son couldn't use even use his fingers to do math. Now his doing multiplications. Ms. Melinda also has been awesome she too has so much patience with her students , you could just see that her students love her. I know that I did the right decision of pulling out my son from public school and sending him to Bridges.

The review below given by a parent in 2012 is completely accurate and it has been going on since the 1980's. Don't fall for their sales pitch if you care about your child's future.


Bad school please do not send your child there. It is a daycare, teachers don't teach all they do is gossip and give out disciplines. No work is ever shown outside from students. Administration is horrible, principal has no direction or professionalism at all. Principal lacks communication with parents. Teachers are not college graduate, they are student teaching student. I ask myself how can a student guide another student without the background in education. Teachers are always sitting down, I had my child there and all I would hear in the school assigned from gossip among each other is this discipline slip they had called "demerit". A child would get that just because they cant handle behavior management. Think about according to the school its a learning disability, however they give demerits for behavior instead of understanding or changing strategies with a child who has a learning disability. Please, please don't send your child to that school, you are spending your money in a daycare. When the school has events, there is no parent involvement due to lack of communication from administration, all they care is your money. Bridges Academy is a greedy school.

My child has been going to Bridges for 4 years now. He feels successful and the staff meets him where his needs are. All teachers experienced and knowledgable. My child has stated he will never leave Bridges. The school is a loving family
