I switched to hyde park for my first year of high school because I HATED public school, and hp has done me good. The teachers are AMAZING!

We are zoned for Vandegrift HS and gave our daughter the option of public vs private and she chose Hyde Park High School when entering 9th grade. It came down to size and opportunities. She is beyond thrilled with her choice as she is excelling academically while being involved in sports during each season and enjoying time with wonderful friends. HP provides a Christ centered education while nurturing your child to help them find who they are vs becoming what a school wants them to become. The small classes allows each teacher to know their students. We can't say enough about the wonderful teachers, coaches and administrators. We have two other children we look forward to attending HP. No place is perfect but this is close.

All adults are there to help students and have an open door policy. We advocate for all of our students and promote diversity and understanding.

Many teachers demonstrate mastery in their content and are very passionate about their work. I've seen such positive changes in this school over the last few years!

Lessons are posted a week ahead for all classes and students know what work is expected and when it is due. Most AP classes give weekly assignments, with plenty of time for students to manage them.

This is a wonderful school - small class sizes, no state standardized tests, AP classes and college-prep focused!
