Dallas Christian School presents itself as a beacon of faith-based education, but beneath the surface is a culture built on exclusion, favoritism, and quiet discrimination.

Unless your family has the resources to donate large sums of money, the "right" race, or gain favor through employment at the school, you are just a number—tolerated, but never truly included. The school's values are less about Christ and more about class and elitism. A tight-knit inner circle of donors, board members, and influential families call the shots. Everyone else is kept in their place.

Diversity at Dallas Christian is performative at best. Minority students are rarely visible outside of athletic teams, and there is a pattern of recruitment that raises serious ethical questions. These students are valued for what they can do on the field or court—not who they are. And yes, there have been documented and disturbing instances where students of color have been called racial slurs, including the N-word, by both peers and staff. Consequences for these actions have been minimal, and accountability is nonexistent.

The emotional toll is real. Kids who start off confident and engaged quickly become withdrawn, questioning their worth in an environment that measures value by status. The self-esteem damage lingers long after.

Many of the glowing reviews online are not from impartial voices—they are parents on the board, major donors, or paid reviewers. Don't be misled by the marketing or manufactured praise. The reality inside is far different. Meanwhile, families who experience harm are pushed out quietly, without support, and without acknowledgment.

Even staff members who happen to be minorities are part of the same exclusionary system—and they know it. There is no safe space here, only a well-oiled machine that rewards compliance and marginalizes difference.

If your family doesn’t “fit” their mold—racially, politically, or socially—you will be pushed out, one way or another. The environment is not just biased, it is hostile. And they’ll use your tuition to do it. With the rise of school vouchers, this kind of systemic discrimination is only going to get easier to hide.

If you are a minority family, a values-driven family, or seeking real faith-based education—run. Don’t be fooled by the brochures. The truth is much uglier.

My family loved DC. My 3 children, 2 that graduated from DC and 1 that is still a student there, consider this school to be home and family. The school provided great experiences for their lives, as well as developing their character and futures.

These teachers have great hearts for the mission of the school.

DC has programs that groom students to having hearts for character and others. Mission trips to Ghana Africa, service opportunities, spiritual retreats, and chapels.

The high school principal is incredible. She is there to serve the students and truly has a heart for all of them.

It is about financial status at this school. We figured it out after taking a closer look. There needs to be some bibical teaching about suffering as a Christian, this means putting self last sometimes and being able to weather preseverance for the cause of Christ whom sheded his blood for all.People need to know that this is not Godly and he loves all of his children.

DC has been a great decision for our family. Our kids went to a big public school and they started to get lost . DC has allowed them to be a part of smaller classes and be able to participate in lots of different extra curricular activities that they could at the large ISDs.

We transferred our child this year to D.C. He is in 8th grade and is doing so well. We are so glad that we made this decision. D.C. provides a great education for all of their students along with faith and character building from caring faculty and staff. Our local public school is rated as exemplary, but we have been more impressed with the academics and extracurricular activities at Dallas Christian. He has gotten a chance to get involved with multiple sports and activities. The staff and PTO have gone above and beyond to make sure we are engaged in the school.

I am currently a student at Dallas Christian. I switched over to Dallas Christian because of some personal issues in my family and for the physical and psychological abuse I was receiving in the MISD district. Dallas Christian has helped me through what happened in my family but I am sad to say, since I'm a honors student, that I have fallen drastically behind in my academics. The teachers are amazing and the school has spirit but their curriculum is far from what I have experienced during my life time. I do suggest going here if you have a disorder or just a few problems you have to figure out because they truly will help you get through.

Dallas Christian is more than a school -- it's a family! We have been at DC for 10 years. My oldest is now in High School and my youngest in the ECLC. I can't imagine sending my kids to any other school. DC nurtures them into leaders -- both spiritually, socially and academically. My children have thrived at DC. The teachers truly want them to be a success in the classroom and have gone above in beyond in providing tutoring and assistance. The best part of DC - besides its christian education program - is that fact that all students are valued and loved. There is opportunity for involvement. whether on the sports field, the stage or on an academic literary team. There is something for everyone at DC. The possibilities for success are endless.

Dallas Christian is a great school. The athletics are outstanding! The high school academics require a mature student... However, after a couple months in the family environment DC creates, the students usually adapt to the environment and develop themselves into students of character and discipline. Although, this does differ from student to student. By mature I mean the school is a prep school and does not give students excessive amounts of busy work. This can be good or bad for different students. At the end of the day, however, I support DC 100 and their academics have my children struggle but not without a helping hand. The teaches are always taking extra time out of their day to help students at any time of the day. The impact that the teaches have made on my kids' lives is amazing. I would never think of sending my kids to any other school than DC...

My daughter started Dallas Christian Last year (2011). It has been a life changing experience for her. Her teachers are excellent. The principle has been kind and supportive.. I have since brought my second child to DC. This is a wonderful school. I consider it a privilege for my children to attend school there.

Our children have been at Dallas Christian for 9 years. We chose DC over our neighborhood school which has an "Exemplary " rating. The graduates of DC are attending universities all over the nation. The past year-in-review magazine had information on alumni who are neurosurgeons, cardiologists, pro football players, race car drivers and missionaries just to name a few. The teachers not only prepare the students to be what they want to be, but they truly and deeply care about them. Dallas Christian of a community of parents, students and teachers who are extended family. I cannot think of a better place to have my children.

Dallas Christian School has been an important part of my life. Starting with my mother, continuing one with myself and now my three children, the school has provided a strong environment for Christian education. The best judge of any business is repeat customers. My family is now into it's third generation at Dallas Christian. That should speak volumes. While all private schools are expensive, Dallas Christian's pricing is below most of the competition, while providing small class sizes. A major plus when looking at the others. The new school president is very personable and shows that the school has an even brighter future. I intend for my children to attend all the way through grade 12. Highly recommended!

I have had my children at Dallas Christian School for the past 5 years and truly feel blessed for have such a place. My kids attended a very good and well respected public school prior to our move to a private school. The two schools are night and day different. Dallas Christian teachers are so engaged with the students and show that they care about both the academic and the spiritual development of my kids. I love that! While Dallas Christian is associated with the Church of Christ, families of all denominations feel welcome and are never considered "outsiders". The school is a melting pot of Christian denominations......the way it should be. I certainly would recommend the school to anyone that was considering it. A private school is certainly an investment, but you get much more for your money in return.

As the last person said the ECLC department is lacking tremendously. The principal is rather rude. If you ask any of the teachers to show you the curriculum they are using not only is it very outdated it's ineffective. The building isn't even a real school building it was originally a dormitory. The building is very old. Not to mention when I went to visit a skunk was under the building and nothing was being done for a while about it. A staff member is the one who told me this information. The school is very good about making the school logo and uniforms sharp also their website but it's a joke. I gave this school a rating of 2 stars because of the curriculum. That is what is suppose to be the most important factor along with God. And this school seems to really show there's no money for any new materials. Given the cost of $10,000 a year more less you really are better off sending your child somewhere else.

My son has been at this school for the past 3 years, and I am really upset with the leadership and teaching skills of the ECLC department. As another parent posted there is a very obvious concessions and privileges that are only extended to a select group of children and families by the principal and teachers, and I cant stop but to notice as well that all the kids that are in the inner circle always get the better of the teachers and academic attention. My son s 2nd and 3rd teacher at best can be described as ready to retire, with no love of teaching left in them. He will not be going to DC next year ! ! ! Given the High cost "est. $10,000 a year" this School is average with a Very Heavy Price Tag

Outstanding! Dallas Christian creates a community for your child, not just a curriculum. I have had kids in all grades at DC, and they have all had a wonderful experience. The school sets a high standard for its students, both in academics and personal conduct, but the teachers are loving and caring, and devote themselves to the needs of every child. The school is big enough to offer a wide variety of quality programs, but small enough that kids can play multiple sports, and participate in a variety of activities, including mission trips. Students get a consistent message of the importance of Christian service and kindness. Students emerge well-rounded and with the formative experience of a loving community behind them. DCS is unique among Dallas-area schools.

The constantly changing leadership at DC is a mess. The current, is either milk toast or grossly biased. Obvious concessions and privileges are extended to a select group of children and families by the principal and faculty. Some of the teachers seem upset and assaulted if you ask them questions about the curriculum or tutoring. The strict school dress code is applied to most, not all. If your child faces a bulling or mean girl situation, the principal and faculty are zero help, your family s status will determine the amount of assistance you will receive. The point of sending your child to a private Christian school goes beyond the cost and academics, it is about their soul being supported and nurtured by likeminded Christians. If you have a child that is not athletic, or one that does not fit the cookie cutter mold, you should look into a different school.

My experience with DC has and continues to be a positive one. I have had one or more of my children at DC for the past 16 years. The teachers are loving and truly care about not only the academic success of their students but also their spiritual well being. GOD is taught in the classroom everyday. DC is a family with a legacy of people who want their children to have a great education in a Christian atmosphere.

My experience with DC was extremely positive! My sons were able to participate in a variety of activities that would not have been realistic options in public school. God is integrated into the curriculum and so the whole child is taught - not just the politically correct part of the students. I will always be grateful for my DC family and their part in helping my sons become successful in life - not just school.

insane pricing, and teachers are worse than public school teachers... I will take my kids back to public school for free and no drama

DC is a failing school. It needs to change a whole lot. The teaching is mediocre at best, although there are a few who are simply the best there are. While the school leadership is an EPIC fail. Anyone considering this school needs to seriously consider all other options. DC does not care about the students. They only want to have a "perfect school" with "perfect students" rather than a caring environment that will truly help the students grow and mature and accept them as humans who make mistakes.
