Please beware. This school is extremely unsafe. My daughter is going through counseling right now due to this school. She was touched during nap time. They don't care about keeping your kids safe. They allow the students in Pre K to lay all together on the floor WITHOUT any kind of mats and unsupervised. The school had failed to help her get counseling or any kind of help at that. No one has been held accountable for their actions in the incident.

A few weeks before her being touched when I picked her up at the end of the day she was covered in diarrhea and the teacher didn't even notice. You could tell it had been on her for a long time because it was dried up. Do not trust this place with your kids.

Poorly. Kids are not monitored or held accountable. Good luck to the kids that come out of this school, I hope they become contributors to humankind, but its going to be touch with this kind of schooling.

Posted: April 26, 2019

Kids are assaulted and bullied every day, but the teachers and principal will not discipline. If you want a safe environment for your child, don't put them in this school.

Posted: April 26, 2019

Poor. We will be getting counseling for our entire family due to this school.

Posted: April 26, 2019

They don't care if the kids do homework or not. It's optional.

Posted: April 26, 2019

They do not disciple or hold anyone accountable for their actions.

Posted: April 26, 2019

No one took action to ensure my daughter was safe.

Posted: April 26, 2019

I'm not sure they offer anything special other than a Spanish class for kids who do not speak English.

Posted: April 26, 2019

They allow bullying. The child who assaulted my daughter bullied the entire class. Who knows if he assaulted anyone else.

Principal is amazing - as is her APÂ’s, Teachers & support staff. She is a very effective communicator and handles all situations with a positive outlook and appropriately.

Everyone has been very nice and organized from the front office staff to the sweet teacher Ms. Flowers.

My daughters teacher was over whelmed with all the troubled children in her class.

Posted: July 29, 2018

Most the children in my daughters class were very misbehaved. I had her moved to a different class and was disappointed when the behavior was equally bad.

I felt my daughter was bullied. She was the only caucasian child in the class and it seemed as though none of the other children would talk or play with her. At the end of the year she could barley tell me one person she played with during recess.

Posted: July 29, 2018

negative. I never felt as though my daughters presence in the class was appreciated. My daughter was shy and never caused problems, I suppose this is why I never heard much from her teacher as she was to consumed with the badly behaved children.

The teachers are very down to earth and compassionate. They also are very easy going and supportive when your child is having trouble adapting to things that may be impacting them at home. Love the staff!

This school bullying report is a joke. I filled out so many of these for two years and did nothing to help. I took me going to the school and making scene to get them to listen to me. They will talk to my child, who is a people pleaser and listen to them, when the parent would know more about how it is effecting the child.

Posted: October 6, 2016

I felt they tested my child out of services they used to get in their other school. No matter what I try to explain to them, they wouldn't listen. I feel my child is missing out of stuff they need extra help in.

Posted: October 6, 2016

I can't say yes or no, I do know that some teachers are good and some are bad. I don't have high confidence with the Principle of the school.

Posted: October 6, 2016

These kids don't respect each other. If any is being tout, it's at home by the parent.

Posted: October 6, 2016

All I hear about is the teachers yelling at the kids. My child is no angel but if they are trying to explain a situation, instead of being out right blamed, the child should have the chance to be listen to. If they did wrong then punish them, if not they should be able to defend themselves.

One teacher wouldn't even listen to my child, when they were being bullied and went to complain the teacher wouldn't listen to a "tattle tail".

They get homework once a week, and its 2 worksheets 1 for two different subjects. No other study materials comes home with it. The composition note books that we send in with the kids, we never see, any notes these kids have the subject we never see. When we ask the teacher about homework they say it depends on where the kids are in subject that is being tout.

There math competition that my child is in, no study materials being sent home for further studying. Sorry if you have a distract competition I think studying more than one a week is needed. When asked for more materials so we can help at home, nothing is given.

This school is a joke.

This School is horrible, I relocated down here almost 3 years ago. My daughter never had a bullying problem in her last school. Here she gets bullied every year, and when I report it nothing happens. Something was said to the other kids parents and that parent tried to confront my daughter. I told the school I will get the police involved if this happens again.

There is no information being sent home, you don't when school is off, there homework is a joke. Some of the homework me and my husband question all the time due to some mistakes we see in them, it's crazy. When we ask for extra study material, everything is websites for them. News flash I don't let my kid be on the computer everyday, heck she barely plays on her Xbox because I don't want her to rely on it for fun. I have to go on Amazon and buy study material for her.

The teachers are rude and not helpful at all, some are nice I will give them that but most aren't. Quick to dismiss you when you are trying to figure out a situation refusing to listen to the parents when they say what happen when something wasn't signed.

If I had the means to take my daughter to another school, I would. This school just gets worse every year she is there. I worry about how middle school will be like.

By stopping kids from bulling each other and the Principal to do what she said she would.

Posted: November 17, 2015

They are really bad when it comes to kids being bullied. My two daughters were being bullied every since 2013-2015. My husband and I decided to go personally to the Principal and tell her my two daughters are being bullied since last school year of 2014-2015, til this day still they have not done nothing about it. We've decided to relocate them to another school. Just seeing them two crying can really hurt your feelings.

As the parent below mentioned, "parents had the children" and parents are the child's first and most important teacher in their lives. Teachers are there to help YOU help your child succeed. In order for students to succeed parents must first do their parts at home. It seems that you are trying but instead of blaming 100% on teachers try to find resources outside of school(Google Texas TEKS or go to library) Teachers are not there to hurt children's education, they are simply trying to help parents. They prepare 6 lessons a day plus copies plus intervention and tutoring lessons and meetings. Have you volunteered to help her/him?... They will see your child for a year but after that your child is still your responsibility and yours alone. Hope this helps. :)

We recently relocated to Texas after finishing active duty service overseas. I had read other reviews of McWhorter and at first, felt very confident in sending my son here. However, after attending since this academic year started (2014-2015), I am severely disappointed. As another reviewer said, there is ZERO information being sent home concerning days off, policy changes, staff changes, etc. Parents do need to be in the know despite what others thing. The only information that I hear on a consistent basis is concerning parking and drop-offs for the morning. Homework is inconsistent and when asked about that fact, I was told that "it changes from week to week and depends on what we get through". I have asked for extra work because my son is weak in math and never comes home with any homework--I was referred to a website that doesn't even present problems in the same format at state testing. How can I expect him to get better if the work taught at school is not reinforced at home? I understand that this can be a teacher, not a school issue. However, when I hear about the same problems with different grades, classes, etc., then at that time it becomes a SCHOOL issue.

I had my child transferred into this school going into kindergarten and I have loved the support that I have gotten from his teacher and the staff. From what I have seen is it there is an issue with a child all teachers will try to get involved to assist. Now with that said... it is up to us parents to be just as involved. I work in child care myself and I know that it is not easy but as a PARENT I am involved. You have yo be involved some kind of way. We had our kids not the school, staff, or the teachers!!!

Posted: December 9, 2013

I really like the teachers' involvement level, their compromise with the students are very seriously; however the learning process of every child does not depend only on their teachers, the parents involvement is also important in their learning.

no info being sent to parents.... and no info about policys..... i keep geting told that the only ppl that need to know any thing going on or changeing is the students not the parents...

I love this school! My son has been here since kindergarten and I have no complaints! The principle is a great dedicated individual as well as the teachers my son has had. I also love the after school program.
