I’ve had multiple children attend ECIA over the last 9 years. Like most schools these days, ECIA has experienced a fair amount of teacher turnover since Covid. However, what has stood out to us is the school’s commitment to having a strong structure for the kids, even during times of transition.

We appreciate the efforts to provide for both academic and personal growth. We’ve had multiple experiences where staff (not just my children’s teacher) got involved in social situations and supported my kid through a hard time.

One thing in particular I have always loved is that the school has a small town feel in that staff looks out for each other and my kids are known there, not because they get in trouble, but just because it feels like everyone is aware and observant.

It’s clear that the school is working to build a solid foundation and we’re hopeful about where things are headed. That said, if your family is motivated by extracurricular school activities & programs, ECIA does not have those in place at the moment.

My son started ECIA in Kindergarten. He has loved it ever since. I love the newsletters Mr. Billy Thompson takes his time doing, it helps in keeping us informed of important dates. I love the Christmas program they put on stage, they put a lot of time and thoughtfulness into it. Every day upon arrival Mr. Ellis is there to welcome them and greet them, he will give his usual fist bump which kids enjoy. Ms. Diaz is a great teachers aide whom is always willing to help. I usually come to love the staff as my son grows within the school.

I, a parent, have had no major issues with this school. Front office is awesome! They care about the children and are professional and knowledgeable about what they do. The majority of the teachers who have taught my child left a positive impression - in teaching and interacting with my child. This school is also big on ensuring the safety and the social emotional learning) of the children who go there. Class sizes tend the be small and this was one of the reasons I chose ECIA for the past 6 years.

I have had 4 other family members attend ECIA several years ago and when it was time for my daughters to attend school, there was no question what school I wanted them to attend. The teachers have always been great with my daughters and I cannot say enough positive things about Ms. Soto, she's been there since my 23 yr old nephew attended and everyone has had nothing but positive things to say about her.

My child has been here for 2 years now. When we toured the school we loved the staff. When the year started most teachers and admin were replaced. We stayed anyway and by the next year we have another new staff. They let teachers go at the beginning of the year and piled the classrooms together. The kids are not on level at this school. They are far behind. They no longer have a music teacher. We are leaving part way through the year because of all the unreliableness of the school. Don't put your kid here.

Our experience at ECI Academy, Sunnyvale, a free charter school, has been good. My son started in the first grade and we are hopeful that he will complete his 6th here. I enrolled my son at this charter school because I thought after reading up on their mission/vision statements and curriculum on the website, and the smaller class sizes and usually older but overall certified and experienced teachers, would be ideal for my son. And I still believe it is. The administrative team cares for the families and go all out with activities to make students' experience at the school fun. Discipline is lovingly dealt with here and bullyism is truly not tolerated here. My son has a disability and the team has been responsive and communicative regarding their concerns and his needs. There has been some wonderful, competent teachers here and I find any issues that would compromise learning is promptly handled. The school has a good Gym course but currently does not offer additional extracurricular activities. Check out the website, call the office and ask questions or set up a tour. ECI Academy maybe the right, close knit feel school you may have been wanting for you child(ren).

This school is has absolutely no professionalism if you read the comments. One student said that they did nothing about bullying. A teacher, I am assuming said that the person running things never shows up. I have some understanding but no understanding for all the 5 stars you all have been getting. I know that education is important but this seems like a school that has no order, no training. those few comments that I typed off don't matter when they was posted. Somebody still cared enough to say something.

I had three students at ECIA Charter school this year: a fifth grader, a third grader, and a second grader.
Even though my son had two different teachers because of a switch during the middle of the year, it was better for him because the new fifth grade teacher was amazing! My son has ADHD, but his teacher stayed on top of making sure he was successful.
My third grader loved her teacher and was praised for wprking hard every day. My daughter has dyslexia and was part of the program with Mrs. Clark. She loved my daughter and my daughter really blossomed this year and learned so much!
My second grader had a wonderful teacher who was patient but made sure the students took care of business and worked hard. She improved in reading so much from the beginning of the year to the end of the year and we are so proud!
The only down side to this school is that they have in playground, just a field and a couple of basketball goals out on the pavement. Sometimes they also have soccer goals out.

Both of my daughters attended MCIA 2012-2013 they were currently in the Kindergarden and 2nd grade. The teachers at pick up time always made sure to update myself or my husband on the girls performance for the day. That reassured me that they were attentive to my children and their development.

great school overall and only has few good teachers needs more storage for the students like lockers

I am really disturbed by some of the posts about MCA. I have nothing but good things to say about this school. The teachers are professional and caring. They go above and beyond to help their students. No place is perfect but it is obvious they are striving to improve every day.

this school is suppose to be a non tolerance bullying school but it is not I have about 3-4 people bully me every day I am glad this school is moving. They let us know on such short notice I am going to the school that is suppose to be there next year legacy preparatory school it is suppose to be much better. I came to this school on second grade I loved it until this year in 5th grade. They won't even have a 5th grade graduation instead they are having a 6th grade graduation and they go to 8th grade. I hate that school it is deffenily the stupidest school I ever went to

Mt child has went through 2 different second grade teachers this year and the person now, not even a degreed teacher. They are classroom assistants. My child never brings homework, becasue they have no teacher to assign lessons. He never brings home a folder. My child has attended this school since Kindergarten and this is his last year there. You cannot get an answer from anyone. Plus I get a call each week at work asking me if I can asssit w/school lunches. I explained and do each week that I work 8-5 M-F and I am unavailable to asssit. But then next week I get a call. My child gets hurt and they call to advise me, but I never get a report like they say I will...The children misbehave and throw desk across the room and are very disruptive. If they would put more care into teaching the kids, rather than worrying about thier uniforms, then my child might learn something. I loved this school up until this year. But my 2nd grader not having a teacher and no direction this entire school year, has caused me to reconsider him returning next year.

This school is a Joke!!! A GLORIFIED DAYCARE! This school is the perfect place if your child is a behavior problem and can't go to the public school. I know first hand that this school treats everybody that works there like dogs, and teaching students is the last thing on their mind. The person making all the decisions, has never been in the classroom and lets her secretary make all the decisions! You can't ever get a straight answer, they do not have the supplies needed to teach any grade. The school is moving and if you decide to move with the school, your child is in my prayers!

I truly believe someone on the staff wrote these reviews. This school is a catastrophy. This year they partnered with Mesquite Christian Academy and became Mesquite Charter Academy. My kids attended MCA before ECIA partnered with them and I have to admit that was a huge mistake. The administration is so far and beyond unorganized, uninformed and careless. Allowing my kids to stay at this school was poor judgement on my part and I feel unfit as a parent for making that decision. The teachers are not certified, or degreed. The administration seems to rather focus on personal affairs of others than trying to make this a functioning and prospering institution for kids. Who's in charge...You'll never know because all of them wants to be in charge. There is no consistency and the program is the worst hands down.
