The only positive thing about the school are 80% of the teachers. The discipline is super strict: assigned seating during lunch, talking is very limited, no outside area to sit with friends, no social life except in athletics, detention is something very often , because it is given for just simple things like looking at your phone once or just assumptions that your child has done something. The policy in this school is very diffrent from the rest. The admins do not let the children to be kids and have fun and jokes. It is all so serious like they fogot they were kids before as well.

This is my sonÂ’s first year at Clark, and we have nothing but positive things to say about the school. Years ago, students from another feeder community caused significant disruptions, but since Mrs. Lee became principal just a few years ago, Clark has truly changed for the better. She and Mrs. Reed, the assistant principal, are doing a phenomenal job restoring Clark to a school that deserves respect.

One major positive is that 6th graders are kept separate from 7th and 8th graders. The school has a zero-tolerance approach to bullying and negative behavior, and students are held accountable for their actions. We are a minority and havenÂ’t experienced any discrimination from any teachers or staffs. If anything, theyÂ’ve been extremely respectful, accommodating and responsive. I would disregard any reviews older than three years, as the school has improved tremendously since the new principal came onboard. They are still very strict with the kids, but thatÂ’s just how theyÂ’re able to reset the bad behavior from a few years ago.

I have had one child finish 3 years at Clark and another beginning their journey at Clark. We have had all positive experiences. Our children have been excited to attend school each day which is a testament to the staff. The administrative team is engaged, positive and puts the needs of the campus/district first. The students have an opportunity to truly learn processes and skills and have opportunities to grow by attending tutorials and Cougar Den. My children have always felt safe and enjoyed the diversity of the campus. The programs offered by the campus/district are outstanding. There are many opportunities for families to be involved. This is an excellent campus that has exceeded my expectations!

Clark MS is an all-encompassing campus of enrichment offering educational, arts, social, musical, and athletic learning opportunities for all students. As a key part of the greater Frisco ISD network of schools, Clark embodies a positive learning environment. Children in this school are highly involved in the on-level and advanced curriculum offered, as well as the band, athletic and in-school activities. Clark MS has a diverse population with an inclusive learning environment. Teachers at this school are respectful and care for their children. The administrative support and care from the leadership team is known from the moment the children enter the campus. Our family highly recommends this school for middle school learners.

My 6th grader is having a fantastic time at Clark! He absolutely loves band and feels supported by his teachers as he navigates the transition from elementary to middle school. The administration listens and really encourages family and community involvement. I love seeing that Clark has an active PTA again that works hard to put the needs of all students and staff first. Our family has been extremely pleased with our experiences at Clark MS so far!

I donÂ’t feel like thereÂ’s any support or encouragement from the leadership roles in this school. The administration is responsible for creating a loving and family like environment. However it appears to be more hostile and confrontational. Teachers feel comfortable showing favoritism and and racism. My children learned so much negativity and bad behavior from attending these schools. The ratings have gone down tremendously over the years and I would recommend choosing better for your family.

7th grade has been the wort year of i think my entire life. i used to live in cali and the schools there were so nice and welcoming. i'm finding it hard to sleep and pass my classes. The teachers only help me when they feel that their occupation is in danger, especially my 7th period teacher. the only thing that gets me out of the bed these days are my friends and my theater class. When i miss a simple question in class now, i feel tears fill my eyes because i feel like i dont match the expectation of my teachers. The counclers only help you on about the 3rd try of reporting. I once tried to report a kid who was making fun of my clothes and being sexist but he didnt even get talked to. Not only that, but there are plently on roaches around the school, not to mention the crickets as well. Also the bath room arrangements. for girls who are just starting their cycles, they are forced to only go in between classes. (which only gives them four minutes) And they are forced to wait ten minutes before and after class starts and end. on block days, they have to wait 20 minutes. Another thing, because the counclers dont do anything about bullying, the kids are rude and just terrible. Everytime i meet someone new, they only want to talk about how i dress. I dont really care about what people say about my
clothes because ive been used to this for so long.

I went to this school for three years. The higher ups in this school do not know how to keep unruly students in check. Rather than at least attempting to fix their behavior, they choose to punish entire grades. The students in this school are extremely rude. This school both brought my self confidence down and made me feel awful for the three years I attended it. The bathroom policies (Only being allowed to go eight times in class within nine weeks) are ridiculous, and terrible for younger students who may have just started their cycles. There is not enough time to go within the passing periods. Many of the teachers are perfectly fine, the leadership is the issue. If you are considering this school for your child, look somewhere else.

Teachers are extremely rude and racism is at its finest. The only consideration they have is getting test scores up for ratings. Certain kids are allowed to say, do and wear whatever they want. Minority children are punished to the maximum and sent to an alternative school. All of the kids sent to SOC in Frisco were African American. The administration supports the racism and does nothing about it. It sickens my heart to see this and not why I moved out to Frisco. I hope speaking on this issue will bring change.

My son recently started Clark and now I'm super worried and concerned for his well being and mental health. He feels very stressed of all the restrictive rules, which if they do not obey they will be punished. Children are sharing between each other that they feel like 'in prison'. There are very strict rules which do not come from the isd but the school. I'm not sure what is the reason of that happening but my son said none of that was happening in his previous school. If there are some children that need more attention and discipline, it should not reflect to the other children.

I have been a student at clark middle school for a while now and ever since the new rules came into play it has been a mess especially the dress code and they don't care to let us have freedom at all (i wonder why) im man after all this place is a "fun safe and interactive learning environment" (like i'm gonna believe that) they often exaggerate the learning experience of us and i'm starting to think this is all for the money and not the purpose but in conclusion this school is not as good as they say it is (and they tell us to not believe everything the media says) we are forced into a social normal and basically treated like an assembly line and i'm tired of it it is the same thing every day they bring nothing new to the table the school system has not changed in over 150 years and we are not going to stop until tis changes we wake up to early and stay up too late and work too hard to be treated like this we are sired of being silenced and the only reason we are still here is because its a law this has to stop because i want the future generations and my future family to grow up in a world better than the one we live in today i will not stand for this any more and i mean this from my heart please change this i can't take it anymore i have been suffering from anxiety and insomnia since 7th grade last year and for the sake of our mental health please change this.

the teachers are amazing, if you are looking for good teachers this school is the way to go. The band program is also great, 100% recommended if you are aspiring to pursue band. But sometimes I do not feel safe in the hallways because of the amount of kids messing around. Personally I think they need more hallway monitors because the hallways are getting out of hand. Also a lot of kids are being disruptive during lunch, and i think they should just get separated instead of assigned seating. I can also learn okay but sometimes kids can disrupt class and it can be hard to learn and sometimes teachers don't fix the problem every time.
Overall Clark is pretty good, but there are things that need to be improved for safety.

So, we transferred into this school district in the middle of the year and the staff has done a great job communicating and assisting through our new advanture. The staff has been engaging, patient and very supportive. I understand the school has some new staff memebers and they all seem to want what is best for the students. I believe all of the students are in for a great new school year. As a parent they have my full support!

Before the new admin and teachers started working there, going there was actually tolerable. But the new staff have made the school a prison instead of a friendly learning environment.

They constantly want the students to act mature and above their age, and yet the actions they commit and the rules that they enforce canÂ’t be considered anything but childish. They force the students to grow up too quickly and donÂ’t allow them to just be kids and try to enjoy their life.

The new Principal clearly doesnÂ’t empathize with the students attending or the teachers working, especially considering the rules they keep adding that do not benefit to the community of our school environment.

Maybe at some point, I might have felt safe coming to school, like I couldnÂ’t get hurt if I just kept my head down and didnÂ’t start any conflicts. Now however, I notice that the school doesnÂ’t deal with issues pertaining to violence and bullying. They prioritize certain students and avoid punishing others because they canÂ’t find it in themselves to bother.

The school has shown that they don’t care enough about the student’s complaints, problems, or mental health. Instead, they care about the student”s “learning”(when I say learning, I mean giving them booklets and letting them figure it out).

They discriminate students who donÂ’t understand the material right away and spend class time berating them in front of others. And when thereÂ’s an issue pertaining to bullying (The act of ONE constantly harassing another), both parties are at fault.

They take away students creativity and force them into a social norm where they lose all character and development theyÂ’ve ever gained throughout their years of life. Majority of students who attend this school find themselves unable to express themselves (its definitely gotta be the dress codes) and lacking things they once had (dignity, intelligence, friends, etc).

ThereÂ’s much more iÂ’d like to write down, however, this is already as messy and not put together as is (I wonder why), IÂ’m going to leave it here and say that students should not attend this junior high for the sake of themselves.

Ever since the new AP staff has joined this year it has nothing but a disaster. The 7th grade assistant principle is constantly lying to parents to try and get kids in trouble and never bothers to deal with any serious problems. Not only that but i have constantly heard about other teachers and how childish and out of line they act. This is the future of our generation and the only thing they are being taught is that their personal needs are not important because they need to "learn". I would not recommend sending your kids here for the sake of their mental health and dignity.

Don't send your kids here if you value their mental health. Ever since the new staff was introduced a lot of students complain that they can't learn as much and the new rules are overwhelming. Not only has our time for socialization been limited, but the new staff is rude and they act as if they hate their jobs. This school has never been perfect, but at least last year I felt as if this was an open and decent place to learn, but as of now I'm not very sure if I can stand on that or not.

These new rules are getting riduciousls and there acting like we are in elementary. I'm already stressed that we're going to high school next year and these rules are adding on. We were supposed to had a good time but no I'm having the worst 8th grade.

Now that the school has a new principal, she has caused many new problems than the school had before she came here and now she wants to have these "new rules" that do not benefit any teachers or students in any good ways and has caused more drama and stress to the end of the school year when the end of the school year is supposed to be fun and a good time to end the year but now its just more stress and not beneficial to anyone especially when students have to worry about their grades and with the lack of education taught and also teachers are very stressed when they don't have time to grade and schedule new lessons for their students.

If you are moving to Frisco, stay away from this school! They play favorites and if your child gets behind there is no recourse. My son has been a great student up until he was enrolled at Clark Middle School.

If you want your kids to participate and actually play in the athletic programs here make sure you really get ready to kiss some you know what because there is nothing but cliques here and the coaches especially Knott encourages this kind of behavior. I saw multiple times during this basketball season where unskilled players being selected over skilled ones because they are more popular. And talk about being out of your depth as a basketball coach. She chooses speedy soccer kids with no basketball skills because they have speed. Then over the course of the season I see not even one of them actually work or show any skill. They run into players and rack up the fouls. This school just perpetuates this kind of behavior while another one up the road has a real coaching system in place and always contends as 1 or 2 school in the district. In my opinion the coaches here at Clark have no business being called coaches because they do not actually coach anyone but their own egos.

This is not the school for you if your kid needs any accommodations. The 8th grade counselor is disorganized and lacks empathy, or general skills.. The Principal is a dinosaur, and student's needs are not being adequately addressed as there is no leadership or vision by his non presence or courage to evolve, make changes. The teachers are amazing at this school so don't despair if you are stuck here. Excellent Band Program.

Not sure how this school rates a 10...bullying is a major problem. I spoke to one child who said he transferred due to bullying. A friend of mine cried repetitively this year, as her child was bullied daily, but then he was vilified when she tried to report it. My own child was harassed daily in a specific class, and when I notified the school, not only did they do little to protect my child, they also stopped returning my calls.

the athletic coaches pick favorites!!! its not fair & there (not all, mainly coach grithifts is the bad one that hates me & a lot of other students, of them are bad, but they all do pick favorites) HORRIBLE coaches, I'm very sure that almost all of them never played the sport there coaching(volleyball, basketball, soccer, football, & track).!! don't come to this school! is't not good at all!!!! i hate it sooooooo much!

This is a terrible school!!! My girls were there for two years and they were bullied and when we took it to the principal, he did absolutely NOTHING about it. Actually, when it was brought to his attention my child was the one disciplined and not the bully. Also, as far as the athletics there???" what a joke" The coaches are lacking the knowledge to teach the kids.... I don't believe the "coaches" have ever even played basketball. The teachers there also are allowed to curse at there students. The teachers are mean and some are so old and cranky they just need to retire. It got so bad here that we had to move to protect our kids. I don't see how this school received a ten?

Clark has been a great experience for us so far with our two kids. The few things which are kind of shocking to be present in a Frisco ISD schools - - Lack of core material for students on a daily basis - there are no more textbooks for kids to haul around which is great for their backs but unless they take diligent notes there is not much to review. I would prefer some sort of electronic format textbooks. These kids have devices coming out of their ears these days. Also with the tax base here I am shocked to see handful of devices for use in the school. Money is not being spent in the right places. - The biggest disappointment for me to date has been the Athletic program. The basketball teams are nothing more than a popularity contest. I know girls who have worked hard for years who have been moved out of the competitive teams for a person who is no where in the skill level but is popular. This teaches these kids nothing about hard work but instead just beats them over the head with popularity. Half the team is made up of cheerleaders. It is an absolute sham.

About half of the sixth grade teachers are mean, however, most of the core class teachers are nice. The seventh grade teachers can be strict and the eighth grade teachers and by far the nicest!!!!! I don't have a good chemistry base for next year because my science teacher last year didn't understand it herself, but this year she is only teaching math. They had a bully program last year (I'm not sure about this year since I'm in high school now), but it didn't do much to help. I never saw any physical bullying, but there was some emotional and cyber bullying. The girls coaches are really awesome!!!!! I went from being terrible to being on my high schools JV team and with an average coach I probably would've made the freshman team. I found the principal to be helpful, friendly, and courteous in general. The VPs were ridiculous though.

If you have a special needs/ autistic child this is not a school for you. The teachers thought that our child was very independent, therefore when he had an anxiety attack, he got detention for it. The principal is very rude and the staff (except for the receptionist) cannot think for themselves. We are not coming back to this school.

As a former 8th grader, I have been physically hurt here. No matter how much you tell, you still get harassed. It is unacceptable to let those kind of things happen. Whenever I try to take physical action on my bully, I always end up in trouble!!! It's like the teachers don't care about me getting bullied but they care when right at the moment, I'm about to punch the bully! It's not right.

Mr. Katz and Mrs. Vanhook, the Band and Orchestra teachers are very funny and nice. Allthough, Band has some nice students and orchestra not so much.

A a prospective homebuyer in the area these kind of comments really affect our decision. Bullying, rude teachers. I suspect we will look elsewhere

This school is the best! All the teachers are super nice and there are no bullies, which is a wonderful thing!

This school is filled with bullies! My child was harrassed physically by a student!! I am very disappointed that further disciplinary action was not taken. As for the cirriculum - it's a joke! Their are no course offerings for any grades besides AP classes which are laughable! My child has tested at an AP 10th grade level, so now we are looking for a school that can provide the academics that is needed. If you are looking for a school full of bullies and a lower than average cirruculum, then this is the school for you!! Otherwise, look elsewhere. Oh and if you ever send correspondence to the principal, don't ever expect to hear from him. He will only pass you on the the assistant principals.
