I am a student who currently goes to this school , and I have never experienced such disrespect in my whole entire life. The counselors don’t even care about your mental health. They just tell you to get a therapist. I was extremely depressed while at the school and ever since I got back out of the school I have been better than ever. As a person with social anxiety, several of these kids were bullying me for not being social. They also bullied my older brother for being short. These counselors need to handle and prioritize people’s mental health over any education. When I was at my lowest all they told me what to do more homework and to get over it. This made me so anxious that I would have panic attacks when I got home. And the teachers don’t even care if you’re tired like I didn’t get any sleep from working and doing homework all night long and they didn’t even care. One time there was even a bomb threat and they didn’t even care. They just put us on lockdown and just made us keep on working. all they care about is special events outside of school.

I'm a student at Pioneer Heritage Middle School, and I'd like to provide an honest review. It's important to be impartial and empathetic in understanding the staff's situations and why mistakes may occur.

Learning Experience: The learning experience is far from exciting; it's rather average. Klaw News focuses mainly on athletics and doesn't provide relevant academic updates. An example of this is when it comes to my learning experience. Most students, especially introverts and those who aren't into athletics find the school to be 'mid' at best. Klaw News seems to be more like propaganda to boost the school's image, rather than offering insight on more relevant academic matters. Learning experience: 2/10.

Teaching: The teaching experience isn't great. Teachers can be disrespectful, sometimes giving MLOs without clear explanations. For instance, when they assign an MLO without prior warning and don't clarify the assignment, it can be frustrating. Moreover, they sometimes seem to favor athletics students over others, even when some students genuinely need help. Teaching experience: 3/10.

Social-Emotional Support: Counselors lack empathy, often coming across as stern and rude. They aren't well-liked by the average students. Not much positive impact. Anecdotes indicate that counselors tend to show sympathy rather than empathy, which may not be helpful.

Special Education: The handling of special education needs improvement. In some instances, there's a lack of discipline and guidance. For example, in 7th grade, a situation arose where a special education student created disruptions, including using inappropriate language and spreading false rumors, without appropriate consequences. Putting these students in learning labs may not be as helpful as it should be. There seems to be a need for better discipline.

Safety: Safety concerns exist, with students using derogatory terms. Incidents of physical harm are not properly addressed, and phone use in class can be disruptive. In my math class, there was an incident where a student physically assaulted another over a minor disagreement, and this was not addressed effectively. The use of derogatory terms goes unchecked, contributing to an unsafe environment.

Family Engagement: Limited family engagement, mainly centered around out-of-school events. Unfortunately, there isn't much to say about family engagement, as it primarily revolves around events outside of the school.

I am a parent of an 8th grader at Pioneer Middle. My daughter is part of the volleyball team and gets bullied constantly in practice unfortunately not only by a large group of bullies in her team, but by her own COACHES. The 2 coaches for VB women's team not only are incompetent at VB and coaching students, but they are bullies. Bullies who protect their rich blonde students, and bully minority students. Beware of this school, we moved from Commiefornia to stay away from tyrannical schools who were pushing toxic agendas into kids and taking away parents rights, only to come to were apparently schools are better and communities care.... what a lie. This school is full of bullies who trot around the school in skimpy little sorts showing more skin that is appropriate for school and for minors! And the Staff at this school just pretends they don't see, so long their parents keep giving money to the school, they are quick to turn a bling eye.

BULLYING, specially perpetuated by Staff members against minority students, is a daily occurrence at this school. Beware of the double standards of Pioneer Middle.

I graduated from this school around a year ago, and it was fine.

First of all: The teachers are pretty good, depending on the subject. History teachers are usually athletic coaches though, or just very incompetent. Very few teachers are strict, and the workload isn't too difficult. Usually, you'll get at least 1-2 good and engaging teachers per year.

Homework isn't common; usually, it's just stuff you didn't complete in class. The exception is math, though it isn't all too difficult if you pay attention.

Bullying isn't much of a problem, though if your kid is a bit quirky or has Special Needs others may tease them or be a bit cruel. Despite that, I've never really seen any violence, any typically fights are shut down before they can begin or escalate. For social factors, it's decently easy to make friends. Harder than Elementary, but not difficult for extraverted kids. Very shy kids can also make friends pretty easily after a month or two, even if they're new.

The school has drills pretty regularly, though that's probably a district thing. There's also a police officer on campus.

The counselors honestly aren't very good though; they're mostly there for schedule changes and are horrible at SEL. They're very difficult to work with, and it can be a pain to simply swap from an on-level to an advanced class. Every Monday (or at the beginning of the week,) you have to go through a pretty much pointless mandatory SEL slideshow with the advisory teacher you're assigned to. It honestly doesn't teach the lesson they aim at, though it could be that students and teachers alike dislike it.

For school events, it's kept at a decent medium. There are usually 1-2 fundraisers, 2 plays, (first a musical, 2nd a comedy,) 2 pep rallies, (which are extremely boring. If your kid also has sensory issues from loud noises, being earplugs. It's very loud and two of my friends got overwhelmed and had panic attacks from all the stimulation and noise, along with other students.) and a bookfair.

The lunch at the school is mediocre, though if your kid is a picky eater you should avoid cafeteria food. If they don't like the specific meal for that day, they can get a cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, or cheese bread (pizza without sauce and with herbs and what I assume is olive oil added) For drinks there's always milk (chocolate milk and regular) and juice. (apple, diluted orange, and grape)

I hope this was helpful, this is kinda just some certain things I thought of for a review.

Thinking that I have to leave this amazing school in the upcoming school year is sading the past 2 years have been filled with fun and learning our principal has amazing humor and makes it fun to talk to him. Our teachers are amazing they and they help us reach our best possible potential in the class. I love this school so much.

Due to rezoning, I have to leave this place when I just got here, but the overall of the school was really good. It helped me improve in more subjects and it made understanding them easier. I also was able to meet more people and make friends. It is a shame that I will leave this school next week.

Great school! My son currently attends Pioneer Heritage Middle School and absolutely loves it. We recently move to Frisco and the faculty staff made it easy for my son to enjoy school!

My child attends this school and it is outstanding. The school itself is kept in great condition and the teachers employed here are some of the best in the District. What's even better is that this school feeds into Reedy High School which is brand new and ranked 10 out of 10 also. Great school and education here and future school is great. Definitely will set your child up for success attending here.

My son will graduate from Pioneer this year and I could not be happier with his middle school experience at this school. He started 1/2 way through his 6th grade year because we moved from out of state. The administration was great with helping us transition and they have not disappointed since. The teachers are really great with middle school age kids and the boys athletic coaching staff is WONDERFUL!! Great job PHMS!
