The new principal here is wanting it to be a completely different school than what made me want to go to innovations. She is taking out our individual self-motivated school for a "more hands on school". If I wanted that I could have stayed at any other school in the district. She also told us she wants us to have "a good bond with our teachers" if she did truly want this, why would she fire all the teachers that we already know and love? I do not believe she is the right fit for our already great school and is changing it into something that will be a complete disaster.

My children have excelled in the courses that are available. They are able to take concurrent enrollment, Project Lead the Way/STEM classes, Computer Programming and many other classes

My experience at the school has been absolutely Superior to any High School within my field of experience. My children exceeded far greater bounds then had they been limited to a traditional High School.

This school has a "free flow" curriculum for many classes. Motivated students who are self-driven have the ability to work at a faster pace allowing for individual rapid academic growth. However, the reverse is true for students who are not self-driven. The student counselors are excellent at helping the students maintain a progressive academic achievement rate, regardless of whether the student is driven or not. This may or may not include outside time for school work or homework.

Since this is a "free flow" curriculum, the reachers take one-on-one time with each and every student when they need it. In addition, the school focuses on both career readiness and early college, so the teachers are very effective at giving necessary direction to students in these specific areas.

Because of the "free flow" education, and early college / career development focus, they expect students to have strong character upon their initial entry into the school. They expect the students to have mature conduct that is reflective of strong character traits such as self-control, good work ethic, integrity, respect and kindness. Those students who are ineffective in these areas are carefully inspired by the teachers and counselors to reach for this maturity, and are very aware of the expectations in order to perform at this school.

The administrative team in the school is truly caring and organized. To take time to actually know each and every student. The communication with parents is both effective and thorough.

Although I have no personal experience in this area, other parents I have known have definitely received the support they need for their students who may have had learning differences. Again, the "free flow" learning experience allows for all kinds of different learning capacities.

Bullying is not tolerated at this school in any capacity. With my 5 years of experience at the school, I have yet to see any bullying of any sort.
