We are military, but I grew up in Utah and am familar with Davis County School District. My kids have been to 5 different elementary schools to include one in the best school districts in the country. SAAN is excellent. Love art incorporated into the subjects. All subjects are still taught at the state level. The families care about their kids education.

This school was honestly horrible.
It heavily discriminated against transgender and homosexual students — in-fact, the principal would actively break school district policy; “… A transgender student should not be required to use a locker room or restroom that conflicts with the gender identity consistently asserted at school…”
because I suppose she didn’t agree with transgender rights.
Some of the staff were verbally abusive and could not control their temper.
I won’t name names, but when I was at this school I had a teacher who would constantly scream at students and I was once left in the hallway to cry for about an hour and a half because I misbehaved.
Along with this, I had a teacher who was angry that none of her students liked her, and she would not allow students to get help from the teacher who actually taught the problem subject.

As for education, it was mediocre. They taught the core classes decently; it was nothing special.

The lunches were fine. No different than any other school.

This school tries to give the perception of high academic success but in actuality it's just a lot of ego. The leadership is weak and it resonates throughout the staff and students as the lack of support is apparent from all sides. As a charter school, you make the choice to attend therefore if you are looking for a school to help, support or encourage your student I would look elsewhere.

The targets are nice but the principal is terrible. She hardly knows what is going on in that school. She only focuses on a few kids and when she messed up she won't apologize, instead she will refer you to the schools lawyer. The office staff is rude and treats you like you are always wrong. They don't try to help without be degrading. I would not recommend this school to anyone!
