This is my experience. My daughter (had a different principal than Rasmussen) had an okay experience. Nothing special but did great.
Next my son who went here for 2nd through 3rd. It was not the best. He has ADHD and anxiety. His 2nd grade teacher amazing! He’s 3rd grade terrible. It was a male teacher with his masters… yet couldn’t really find a way to connect with my son. Which is fine, we as humans don’t always connect. But looking back as my son is finishing 4th grade at a charter school now, it’s night and day different! He’s excelling, making friends and actually feels included.
Finally my youngest son who attended kindergarten at kanesville. He is black and we adopted him at age 3. We learned QUICKLY this school is so uncomfortable and not for people of color. His teacher was great for typical education. Administration is crap. Rasmussen doesn’t care or will listen to others perspectives. We were SO uncomfortable with a Thanksgiving program they did. Songs about guns, Indians, pilgrims, etc. There are plenty of cute age appropriate songs about turkeys and things. We brought this up to the principal and it was like talking to a brick wall. You could tell he didn’t care and my husband and I felt hopeless after our meeting. We reached out to other black adoptees and families, 90% agreed it was wrong and would be upset too. We luckily got them into a charter and let me tell you how my two children have THRIVED this year! We feel heard, my children feel happy and involved and are excelling!

I have been so impressed with Kanesville elementary and its staff! We have been here for 2 years now. The teachers are incredibly caring and knowledgeable, the front office staff is amazing and takes the time to get to know the parents and kids, and principal Adams is one of the best I’ve seen…highly visible to the kids and transparent with parents. My daughter is thriving academically and has made so many good friends and loves going to school every day. Would definitely recommend this school!

Kanesville is an amazing school. The teachers and staff work together for the benefit of the students. The teachers are genuinely concerned for the students learning. Kanesville also offers great added opportunities for its students with it's VEX robotics program, choir, student council, and the many curriculum based field trips! LOVE this school!!

Teachers rarely give homework unless students haven’t finished the work in class. They do expect students to read everyday for 20min.

Posted: September 30, 2019

The teachers work so hard to help each individual student with his/her needs. They meet weekly as a team with the principal to discuss the students and what they can do to better serve them.

The counselor comes to the classrooms each week and teaches them important social and emotional skills.

This is a great school! I am a PTA member and I see first hand how much the teachers care about their students as individuals. They work tirelessly to teach according to the needs of each student. The principal is also constantly trying to help improve the school in many different areas. I would recommend this school to anyone.

This school requires girls to say yes to boys who ask them to a dance. The principal should be fired. This is ridiculous.

Terrible teaching methods
This school should be ashamed

This is a fantastic school with a great staff. They have worked really hard to integrate technology throughout the school. I love that the education system they use is seamless, meaning that the whole school uses the same reading, spelling, math programs. These programs are based on each students individual abilities. As my children progress from grade to grade the plan follows and they are not behind or ahead because the plan is tailored to them and used for all grades. The thing that I love most about the school is that, as a school, they have the attitude that a lot of teaching is done at home. They give parents and students the tools they need to learn. The staff is always available and teachers seem to genuinely care about each student. All the teachers we have dealt with where willing to go out of their way to make sure the students succeeded. Teachers and the administrative staff expect parents to be engaged and teaching at home. If you are looking to send your kid to school to be educated so you don't have to be involved, this is not the school for you (I don't think your child will be as successful with out your involvement either way).

Not an effective school. Not impressed by teachers or staff. The fourth grade teacher my son had was more about impressive projects done at home, than focusing on teaching my child.
