We have loved our experience at LCA. The teachers have gone above and beyond in caring and helping our boys. We love the small class size, teachers that care, diversity and biblical involvement.

This school should be avoided.
I have had many bad experiences with this school. I am currently in 7th grade, and back in fifth grade, I was hit by my teacher, and threatened many times during the year. Please avoid this school. just about NO emotional support. I am yelled at, bullied, and embarrassed by teachers all the time. Another reason to avoid this school is how bullying is dealt with. I have told teachers, staff, and even the principle many times about bullying, yet nothing is done about it. They might talk to the student, but they don't actually do anything about it. I can not find a SINGLE way to get people to stop bullying me. I have a feeling that the teachers love to embarrass kids in front of as much people as possible.

please avoid sending your child here.

I don't not recommend this school at any grade level. When we did our tour we were told that there would be small class sizes, Spanish class for the kindergarten students, that all doors are locked during the day and so much more. I was told they only had a few spots left before they started a wait list. So, i jumped in believing everything i was told.

Everything I listed above was a lie. My daughters kindergarten class was pushing 22 kids starting the year and it continued to grow throughout the year. This school does not follow student to teacher ratios. My daughters teacher was dealing with this large class size on her own.

A few months into school I started noticing that the doors were not locked. Come to find out they haven't been able to lock for almost 2 years!

One day I was talking to my daughter about Spanish class and what they were learning. Apparently it was only movies and they weren't learning Spanish. The school ended up pulling the Spanish class from kindergarten and never notified the parents.

Instead of using THEIR NICE/EXPENSIVE BUSES to transport kids on field trips. They rely on the parents to transport the kids. If you were unable to attend, you would be trusting a stranger with your child in their own vehicle.

Also don't expect any supervision on field trips. We went to rush and the kids were let loose. No chaperones, no small groups staying together and the teachers were sitting down in the front talking or on their phones.

So will it take a horrible accident to fix these issues?

This school will be the first to say how they dont have enough money and they get no help from the state. Can you guess where the money goes? This school only cares about the sports program

All of our kids either go or will go here. Its not a perfect place but the facilities are wonderful, teachers are very engaged and overall feel is solid and loving.

We applied to the school and paid the 1500 dollar deposit but then decide that the school was not for us and asked for a refund. The school did not spend any time on the application process but wanted to keep 500 dollars. The school president said we would get the remaining balance but after two weeks there has been no communication from the school and refund as of yet. The school president said it was being processed and we should wait until the school calls us but it has now been 3 days. Avoid this school at all costs.

This school was a good solution for us, since they offer full day preschool and kindergarten, where public school kindergarten is only a few hours a day. The staff does their best! A good plus is also the class sizes, which is approx. 15 children to one teacher. We liked the little kids playground and the fact that the kids get ample time there! Down side to this school is that part of the teaching staff is not certified and the school has a narrow budget for everything. This makes for a lot of fundraising efforts throughout the year, although last year was better than the year before. We also thought there was too much candy in the school (used as reward for good behavior and being sold to raise money). School lunches are catered and mostly fast food, but you can bring your own sandwiches/home lunch. The primary school principal helped us out on an issue we were having, which we appreciated! She definitely was open to listen to us and solve the problem. Our child enjoyed going to this school!

The 2013 - 2014 school year is our first at LCA, and I could not have asked for a better place for my daughter. LCA is a very loving and caring environment - the teachers view themselves as part of a ministry, so they are content to teach for less money than they would make at a private school. Frankly, the people who complain about tuition costs haven't investigated many high-quality private, Christian schools lately. LCA's tuition is about HALF of what one would pay anywhere else. The school does ask for donations from parents, and offers fun programs like paying $29 dollars per year for a jeans-and-tee-shirts day every few weeks. LCA does this to help raise money for the teachers to supplement their already pathetically low salaries. I, for one, am perfectly happy to support the teachers in this manner. Everything is OPTIONAL, and never once have I or my daughter felt pressured to participate. As a practicing Christian in an otherwise Mormon community, I couldn't imagine a better place for my children. To the person complaining about the dress code, let me just say that it is a huge relief to the kids not to have to conform to peer pressure.

We felt very excited to have the opportunity to start a private school. I had 3 children that started LCA since preschool up to elementary. But come 2011-12 school year, everything went south. Tuition sky rocked, fees went up, charges for random things sneaked in, extra donation money always be asked for at least every other month. Then came questions and concerns about the teachers and students. Teachers were over worked and under paid in order to put money towards the building costs. Some teachers weren't teaching and too busy yelling at students and treating childrens disrespectfully. Students behavior started becoming out of hand and inappropriate, foul language used left and right, (including by a couple of the teachers at the students). The response was to "look the other way". This seems inexcuable for a private CHRISTIAN school where values and discipiline should be encouraged. If there was ever questions or concerns, the administration seemed uninterested, brushed it aside, said "There isn't anything we can do", or just were really unfriendly. I would not reccommend LCA. You're better off saving your money for college rather than wasting it there.
