This school is not for children that have IEP. The staff and teachers have zero training on accommodations that children with disabilities may require. Be ready to advocate for your children. The special education teachers are quick to recommend medications when in reality they are the ones that need up-to date training on special education. The teachers arent trained to implement IEP with integrity. They base their decision on personal feelings rather than whats best for the student. The staff and teachers are unwelcoming. It is not an inclusive school at all. They also share information about your children with other parents which is very unprofessional.

It’s a fine school… if your kid is neurotypical, no behavior concerns, and never needs extra attention. If you have an IEP, or concerns, or a child with extra energy, be ready to fight just to see your kids make mediocre progress, while the school claims they have done an amazing job. The teachers are not collaborative and seem perturbed when a student needs anything extra. The staff is complacent in undeserving students, while claiming they are making progress and blowing off parent concerns. We’ve been in several elementaries and this was the worst experience by far.

This really is school of excellence. Both my kids enjoy going to school everyday and they love it. The teachers are amazing. The school goes far and beyond to help the kids progress. The staff really care about the kids wellbeing and I have seen that first hand. My only suggestion is to add more field trips. I would specially like to give special shout out to the amazing first grade teacher; Mrs. Philip.

Amazing school with great teachers. The kids come out very prepared for middle school. Administration is great and so are the teachers.

The school has pockets. There are groups of parents who work at the school as subs, parents who often volunteer and families who are personal friends of the PTO leadership and school staff. These families are very happy with the school as they seem to enjoy a place of priviledge at the school. The new comers to the area or individuals who are not close friends with the previously mentioned groups often feel left out. The communication seems to flow well through the first group while the second feels uninvited. There are few opportunities for parents to hear or see their student's progress in the classroom. Parent teacher conferences are only for failing kids. Art show is by invite only and holiday activities are run mostly by the students from the HS next door.

There was very little communication. I have no idea what the school's policy is for homework. I think it based on the teacher.

Posted: July 17, 2019

Our child's teacher had many excuses as to why she could not do her job. They mostly amounted to the fact she thought she had too many kids in her class. Communication was close to non existent. I heard about problems in the classroom from my child and from other parents. When asked about the last year of school my child often tells parents they did not have a good year or a good teacher.

Posted: July 17, 2019

Our child often felt bullied at school. The child also stated that when trying to get help with issues between students they were told to put their hands down or not interrupt. At recess when issues were occurring teachers were often seen conversing with each other instead of watching children.

I will wait to see what the next year looks like with an AP possibly on maternity leave and a Principal possibly retiring. Who knows what to believe .... as info was passed on from teachers talking waaayyy too loudly around parents and students. The administration verbally addressed our concerns this year although the teacher continued to he ineffective.

OBE character traits and classroom rules
that students repeat daily include things like "Keep your teacher happy" which includes an icon children look at daily of a teacher being given a gift. Students may repeat the character traits but there is no follow through. Staff members and teachers MIGHT want to review their own attitudes towards each other and their students.

We are happy with teachers and administrators for the most part. There is professionalism and caring for the kids. PTO has been uncommunicative and closed off for the past several years. It was difficult to try and be involved as a parent. We also had to really push for help with a bullying problem.

Mrs Williams gives out enough homework, at least an hours worth a day. I feel that my daughter is challenged.

One of the best elementary schools in the county! Has been a wonderful experience for my family...we're a military family and this is my daughter's 5th school! She's been to a new school every year, she's enjoyed this one the most and so have I!

I LOVE this school. The staff is wonderful. I have had no issues so far. My son will be going back in the fall and beyond.

LOVE this school. I have 3 kids who attend and couldn't be happier! The teachers are great, the principle is great and I love the PTO!

Excellent! We couldn't be happier. The facilities are nice and the staff is exceptional. Parent involvement is high. The PTO is very active in supporting functions, field trips, and technology for the students. We have two children attending, and it has been a joy watching them learn and mature. I highly recommend OBE.

WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL!!! This is absolutely a school of excellence!! Both of my children go here and love it! The teachers, Principal, and staff are amazing, helpful and VERY involved. I have absolutely no complaints what so ever about this school, we love it here! There is a zero tolerance for bullying and I feel very safe knowing my children are in great hands here. I highly recommend this school to anyone considering moving to this school district! They go above and beyond at OBE!

My children (grades 2&5) are in their second year at OBES & love every moment of it. My youngest, most especially was not one of those kids that found school very appealing. I am thrilled that, for the second year in a row, he remains enthusiastic about going to school every day. My oldest is in the Signet Program & is having a great time learning. In addition to a superb academic environment, I am most impressed with the conduct of the children in this school. As great as a school could possibly be, if you & your child are witnessing behavioral issues in the building, it will not be a great environment for your child. This school appears to have zero tolerance for inappropriate behavior - though certainly not in a heavy-handed way. If I could give higher than 5 stars for teachers, administration & support staff I would!

I have three of my four kids going to school here. I'm in the Air Force and this is their third elementary school. It is bar far the best one yet compared to the ones in Oklahoma and Nevada. The teachers are fantasic and there is a decent amount of money put into the school by the PTA. All the teachers have Smart Boards in their rooms and it enhances the childern's learning quite a bit. The homework load is perfect. The school is clear and all of staff is very professional and nice. I haven't heard any complaints from any of my neighbors whose kids go there as well. Don't hesistate to send your kids here.

Old Bridge Elementary is and should be the absolute model for other schools to follow. The principal is outstanding as is the rest of the staff. The staff do really get to know each child and family. There is a very high rate of parental involvement as well. Whether your child exceeds their grade level or are struggling even in just one area, the staff does their best to cater to each child's needs. I really wish the whole rest of the country would take a look at this school and use it as a model for how others should operate. Definitely a 5 star!

OBE was our son's fourth school and it was by far the experience we've had with a elementary so far. The principal is simply OUTSTANDING. You will be hard pressed to find a better leadership staff in all of PW county.

Excellent school, fantastic family atmosphere, caring faculty and staff. Old Bridge is a wonderful school that we are blessed to be a part of.

My son entered this school in the first grade and has really enjoyed his time here. Old Bridge has gone far and above my expectations. The principal and staff know each child by name and are extremely friendly towards everyone. Old Bridge has many programs after school for students, parents and their siblings to enjoy including movie night and dances! We are moving and are sad to go. This is definitely a model school. If you have a child entering the first grade, you will be blessed to have Mrs. Gundersen as your child's teacher!
