There is no PTO at this school, and the children are just kept alone in a island if they have any issues such as ADHD or behavioral problems. It's outrageous that Prince William can have someone with such a low standard of human decency in such a high position is a joke. The principal only acts rudely toward staff members and students in front of the school.

The school is beyond our expectations. Teachers and staff are mostly friendly and caring with children. Apparently the school is making positive progress day by day.

Lots of stuff going on in the SPED rooms. Kids who DONT HAVE PLANS OR DIAGNOSED always being put in the special ed rooms when important visitors come to the building to make sure theres no behavior issues or interruptions sad the school hides any kid with behavior issues. Cant even keep an autism teacher, you bet no kids hours are being met with the lack of capable staff in the school. Just a bunch of babysitters no qualified teachers. Highly suggest moving your child out of the specialED department and drive your kid to another school. Really disappointing school, horrible staff.

The principal, Zefiro at this school continues to
have no respect for her staff and students. At
dismissal she claps, snaps, and SCREAMS at
children telling them to move faster hurry up
and get out of her way, she treats the kids like
dogs. It is why I started picking my student up as
a walker so I do not have to watch her verbally
scream at my kids. Today we had the pleasure of
hearing the principal scream and yell at her staff
and students over the intercom
announcements... FYI parents can hear you
outside! Her words- "I am only happy with first
and second grade students, the rest of the
school has made me so upset" Thanks for
making my kid cry.... if you have an issue with a
student please address them directly no need to
belittle the whole school!

A school where only perfect test scores are praised and announced by name over the intercom- a perfect way to crush a kids self esteem. You too can be a part of the perfect score club. Why not praise all the kids for trying their best instead of creating a failure environment for kids who arent perfect. The school only cares about test scores- a true indication on how you will be treated year to year based on how your class performed in previous years. Gloating to the staff is common- Kerrydale has better test scores than some of the more populated schools in the county. Education is not a competition. Kids are more than just a number.

There is no PTO at this school which brings a huge disconnect between the families and the staff, but its not the staffs fault. The families in the neighborhood know not to join the PTO because of the current principal. She treats her staff, children, and families with little to no respect. She speaks down to people and belittles their thoughts and ideas my husband and I saw it at a back to school night this year between the principal and a teacher. Such a shame a whole community agrees to be dis involved over one person.

Terrible, stay away at all cost if you love your children.
Posted: November 10, 2020
Pre-school no homework have really no idea
Posted: November 10, 2020
Teachers and especially management is horrible, they will lie to you just to be right. All concerns are going to be listened and no action is going to be taken and they look a small reason to blame it on you.
Posted: November 10, 2020
They do not care students all they care to be right! And to recieve their funds.
Posted: November 10, 2020
Principle team not good to lead teachers and discipline. Everything is out off order with teachers.

Threatened to put my special kids IEP jeopardy if I insist to change their teacher who is careless.

Absolutely not. They dont effectively manage any child and should be shut down in my opinion.
Posted: October 5, 2020
Absolutely not. Reactive not proactive/ should not be working with children.

0/10- absolutely the worst/ Do not move in the school district if you value your children.

They cannot keep a teacher for more than six months, three weeks and our ED teacher quit and now we have a qualified personnel babysitting the class. This has gone on year after year and has only gotten worse, they hire anybody and everybody and their turnover is quick. Only the children suffer.

The individual teachers at Kerrydale are fantastic. The school's leadership, however, is unresponsive and does not support patriotic activities. Specifically, they do not support activities aimed at veterans. There is also a number of gang-involved parents who come to the school, though this isn't the school's fault. Personally, I had a difficult time keeping my bilingual kids (English primary, taught them Spanish as well before Kindergarten) out of ESOL classes so Kerrydale could collect their federal incentive money. This also triggered Spanish language school messages. I was finally told it's just the computer doing it and they could do nothing about it. Apparently there's an uncontrollable robot at the school that they simply cannot reign in given their current level of expertise.

Kerrydale is a great school.. great communication with staff and parents. School of excellence the past few years. My xhild has gone here for 4 years now and she loves it here. I feel like Kerrydale is a part of my family.
