Wouldnt recommend anyone to enroll their child in the school. I went to the school as a student and raised a child in the school and if youre not in the right click, wear the right clothes, drive the right car. You are looked down on.

this school sucks don't go here. most of the teachers refuse to help you. they don't care for the disabled or neurodivergent. they hate gay and trans students. the number of kids that do drugs and vape at this school is honestly impressive. if the school closed down the world would be way better

CSHS is a terrible school. The schools that flow into CSHS are great schools, but I highly advise parents to send their children elsewhere for high school. Some of the teachers are fabulous, but many do not teach. They play videos. They unfairly grade, and the school and school system do not care. They have minimal expectations for the students at all levels (general education to college bound). Students can turn stuff in extremely late with little to no penalty. Many of the staff have very little respect for parents, and they most assuredly do not want family engagement unless it is in line with what they are already doing. The principal seems more concerned with being the teachers friends than leading a school. Our children come home multiple times a week discussing violent fights, drug use in the bathrooms, screaming teachers, alcohol use on campus, and overall disruption. They continually tell us that the teachers are often absent. They tell us that the teachers still act like school is virtual by playing play videos for the students to take notes from without actually teaching. Our children continually tell us that they have a lot of free time in classes to do whatever they want, and the teachers do not care what they do on their laptops or in class. They tell us that at least 2 weeks every 9 weeks are week long study halls where the students work in class on any late work or anything else they would like to do. When they seek help, some of the teachers are willing to help, but others are not. Teachers have told our students that they just can't teach them on their learning style, to study more, and find someone else to help them. We have encountered excellent educators at CSHS, but they are a rarity. We were spoiled by the quality education provided at CSMS and the strong leadership from Mrs. Hill. Sadly, we moved to the Cave Spring district because we had heard how wonderful the education was in Cave Spring. We have since discovered that the information is outdated with regards to CSHS, and many parents we have spoken to have expressed the same discontent with Cave Spring High School.

Top notch. The children are well prepared for college if that is the path they wish to take.

Overall they are effective. There are a few that are not so effective but overall most are great teachers

Awesome school! Curriculum is very challenging and the kids are getting into great colleges. No violence or fighting issues. 2 of my kids have graduated and one is still there and none of them have ever seen a fight or heard of one. Sports program is awesome. The school has many state championships and their athletes are top of the class overall!

Overall it is an excellent school. However, Pat at the front feels entitled to chastise students and parents about excused tardiness and absences. If your child is sick she will inform you that you should have had them see the nurse rather than be picked up from school. She is consistently acrimonious and acrid. She is the worst person to have greet students, parents and visitors.

I went to cave spring and enjoyed it. The curriculum itself is really strong. I think that they probably prepare you for college better than most schools. I don't know what people are talking about when it comes to fighting, this school is made up of a bunch of rich white kids and there is the occasional verbal argument and maybe one fist fight among the very few lower class kids that go to this school, it is VERY safe. I wouldn't suggest transferring your kids here if they have gone to other high schools, especially out of state because most people I know who did that had a very hard time passing classes, as for me, I started kindergarten in this school district and had straight A's throughout high school and currently attend VCU with a 3.3 GPA. So, long story short, start your kids in the area if you are considering this school at all. If you live in this school district do not pay for private school because the public schools are just as good.
