My daughter has loved her teachers. They keep us updated with assignments and upcoming events. Very supportive and pleasant.

The students at this school are mean and there is a HUGE bullying problem that is allowed to go on.

Three of my four children who attended this school at one time had bullying issues. None were handled properly and it was allowed to continue despite multiple visits with the teacher and principal.

Beyond second grade the teachers at this school are horrible! The bullying that is allowed to go on is even worse.

This school is horrible. If you can avoid sending your children here do so. There is a reason it's rated a 3 school.

This is our first year in this area. We moved from Prince William and in comparison to the school my children came from this one is horrible. The school lunches are a joke. I came in for my daughters lunch and she was served soggy chicken nuggets and soggy sweet potato fries, GROSS!! There are also no school activities for the children to participate in apart from girl or boy scouts which I find terrible considering what other schools offer for K-5.
I haven't had much interaction with the principal, but my daughter says she is awful, which is sad considering how much she loved her old one. I've also noticed a lot of bullying during lunch between the students and have watched the staff and teachers do nothing. The school we came from was very antibullying and seeing this disgusted me. I pray the middle school is better or we will be moving to a district with better schools.

I've been a parent of a student at Lee Hill for 2 years, and now my child attends Thornburg middle. Lee Hill has been a fantastic life change for my kid... he's really blossomed, and the staff there came together to help him realize his potential. Mrs Cunningham the principal was reassigned to another school but she ran a tight ship. The administration office was always so kind and attentive, Mr Armstrong (assistant principal) seems to really care about the kids and Mrs Hyman (the counselor) always made my family feel welcomed and she always had our child's best interest at heart. This was very important because moving around from different schools, we haven't always had the best relationships with school administration and counselors... in the past they always left me desiring more. The teaching staff always seemed welcoming for the most part... it's only been a few occasions where some of the teachers seemed overly stressed but that just means they were dedicated to their jobs as teachers.
There's a new principal now and I'm hoping for the best for staff there and parents of children of Lee Hill.

My daughters k-5 teacher wouldn't let her go to the bathroom so she would end up wetting herself.
1st grade teacher much better.
2nd grade teacher was horrible! She would yell and scream at the children. She could be heard in other classrooms. Yet nobody did anything about it.
Fredericksburg area schools just aren't great.

Our experience at Lee Hill has been wonderful. The teachers are top notch and the curriculum is challenging. The school staff are all welcoming and friendly. It's obvious they care about children.

All my kids have attended here for over ten years. The teachers are phenomenal. Would not want my kids anywhere else. I feel safe knowing they're in great hands from drop off to pick up. Grateful!

Mrs. Yawberg, who teaches fifth grade, is wonderful. We've had a great experience in her class this year. The school seems to be well-organized. I like the math curriculum, and they have even manged to get my child to write a bit, which is quite an accomplishment. I'm not thrilled with the history curriculum, which seems a bit simplistic: everything is multiple-guess. I think that is the influence of the SOL's. I'm most interested in basic skills, so I'm not too panicked about how well my child understands the causes of the French and Indian War. I'd love it if they could get him to write about it, because he could use the practice.

My experience so far is that the office staff is horrible, they are nice the first day, I went in to drop supplies and they said i needed an appointment to see the teacher. The first day I went to the school, there was a parent that was mad, and now I understand why he got so mad at them. His teacher is alright, have more experiences with her, I wish i could transfer him to another school.

Wonderful staff who are dedicated to the students preparation. All of my children excelled through the rest of their primary education and went on to college.

My daughter is in first grade and she love her teacher Mrs. Hill she is really good with the kids . I volunteer in her class room and I really like the way she teaches . This is our second school and I was really scare that my daughter wouldn't like it,but I was relief that she loves her teacher and her friends. From a military family we are great full for everything you have done and also for the smooth transition .

My daughter is now in second grade and absolutely loves the school! we had to move from out of state in the middle of her kindergarten year; everybody helped her get used to the new schedule and class, her teacher was awesome, and communication since then has been top notch! We get a calendar at the beginning of each month with upcoming events, plus a weekly newslettar from the teachers, and Thursday folders with her work and paperwork that needs to be taken care of. Highly recommended!
