I give it that because there are a quite a few few really good teachers and the office staff is wonderful but yes the administration needs some help in handing certain situations very badly. I won't go into detail but their methods for dealing with many different matters is questionable to say the least. At worst possibly dangerous to kids self esteem, dignity, understanding of boundaries and what should and shouldn't be taken more seriously.

If the loud-mouthed parents with money stopped trying to run things from behind the scenes, the administration could properly handle business.

MMS is a good school. I'm puzzled by some of the negative reviews here. My kids have done well there and have enjoyed it. I suspect the few parents and kids that have problems with it are clueless as to what a middle school is all about. These kids are trying to figure out how to become young adults and there are greater expectations on them... some may not like it, but that is part of the education.

As a parent of a student of MMS I was terrified on what my child would tell me that happened in the school! My child came home upset because one of the teachers there told his class that he didn't Care about any of them! My child also told me that the teacher slammed scissors on her desk and broke a ruler on a classmates desk the teacher also threw a clipboard at the Lockers almost hitting a student! I WAS STUNNED! TO HERE ABOUT THIS! The most upsetting thing is that children in MMS don't refer to the school as SCHOOL but as jail! Also that the children don't get All punished the same the same even if its for the same reason! What hurt me the most is I went in the school one day to have lunch with my child I cought a teacher there yelling at my child beyond what is appropriate! Also my child told me that two of her classmates were pushed by a teacher" what happened to learning without being affraid to ask a question? My child told me that A

As a parent, I am infuriated with this school system. The teachers that I have encountered have been sub par and are only there because the system has a hard time both recruiting and retaining highly qualified staff. My daughter has been completely unhappy and often complains that she is not learning like she did before we moved here. She often complains that her teachers are teaching from behind their desks or are passing out worksheets to keep them busy. What happened to formative assessments? What happened to administrative walk-throughs? Needless to say, we are leaving and finding her a school elsewhere because the education that the students receive here is horrible. There are no opportunities for the students here to succeed and the majority of them will be fighting over who will work at the local Subway sandwich shop. It seems that in rural areas, the quality of education is horrible and teachers do not care as much because they know they will, most likely, not be replaced. In my humblest opinion, this school should merge with another system that has its "thing" in place because WCPS needs a big brother to help it become established.

This school needs help. The teachers are doing the best they can in a system that doesn't value them, doesn't value discipline, and doesn't value parents who want to be involved. This is exclusive of MMS, the other schools are wonderful in all respects. The principal is ineffective and is concerned more with having the students walk in straight lines down the correct side of the hallway rather than teaching the students how to be mature, responsible individuals. The students are out of control and the teachers receive no support. One teacher left in the middle of the school year when two students plotted against him and the administrators took the student's side without even asking others about what happened - my daughter for one who was there for the entire event, with 20 of her classmates. I wish that teacher the best and I don't blame him. The principal was unprofessional. They do not fail students for poor performance and the students know this and are therefore not encouraged to work because they will be promoted regardless then they get to the high school, fail, and don't know how to work for a passing grade. If there were another school, my daughter would go there.
