We have 2 kids at All Saints for several years already. Great school! The teachers are great, class lessons are well planned and well executed. Homework load is very well balanced, keeping kids engaged without compromising their free time after school.
The extended day program both before and after school hours is very helpful for working parents.
The school provides a family-friendly environment with a lot of social activities for both kids and parents.
The administration is very proactive, always solving problems even before they become evident. When that is not possible, they are quick and effective at resolving issues.
We are having a great experience so far.

We love All Saints Catholic School! Our family has been members of All Saints Catholic School for going on 12 years now and members of the Parish for even longer. My eldest daughter is a Junior now at St. Paul VI and was well prepared by All Saints staff, from kindergarten to 8th grade. Since leaving All Saints, (well, even while at ASCS also) she has always been in advanced classes, achieved several scholarships and awards. She has always been determined to be the best and All Saints School helped her achieve that! My youngest is following in her sister's footsteps as she finishes her time at All Saints soon with the same results! I know for certain that if we would had simply chosen public schools, my kids would have never achieved so much. This is the time when kids need to have their minds challenged, yet I've seen many parents come from public schools, expecting an easy ride for their kid, but are shocked to find homework and parent involvement! Some parents think that since they pay tuition that their kids will have it made and they (the parents) don't have to get involved with anything related to their kids. Sorry folks, that's not how this works. You pay for a great, faith-based education that actually requires parents to be involved, as which they should! If you want your children to have the best opportunity to learn in a safe, welcoming environment that will challenge their minds to be the best, and prepare them for high school, then this is the school for you!

Mr. Conroy has been phenomenal in leading All Saints Catholic School, with such strong faith and dedication! I challenge anyone to find me a school principal that knows every student, current and past, and still remembers their names and parents!

The staff and teachers at All Saints really care for their students and give them the best opportunity to succeed. Some parents worried (especially in the past few years) of some teacher turnover, however, many of the teachers were moving on with getting married, having babies, and relocating with their families or simply retiring, however, Mr. Conroy always seems to find the best replacements to continue the mission at hand!

Thank you again Mr. Conroy and all the staff of All Saints Catholic School for being a very important part of our family for the past 12 years!

This school was horrible. I am very glad I pulled my child out. While some teachers are faithful and amazing, they are held back by an unsupportive administration who allow bullying to thrive while harshly punishing other small mistakes. The academics are lower than public schools in the area. Students who are “favorites” or have special parents are allowed to behave however they wish, while other students are berated for lesser infractions. They need a new administration to get the school on track. It is sad, I had high hopes for this school.

All Saints Catholic School have accommodated to the needs of my children and made sure they are receiving the proper information on ways they can understand and learn. There is continuous support through the school year from the teachers all the way up to the Principal.

All Saints has been life changing, we could not be more happy to be part of this wonderful community. Mr. Conroy is absolutely wonderful. His leadership, personality and customer service is amazing. The teachers are caring and professionals at all time. Overall I am very happy that my kids are getting the best education and look forward to continue keeping my kids in this school at least until the 8th grade!

My two kids never complained about having too much homework, the school approach towards homework is enough for my kids to be able to complete them on a timely manner and able to spend their afternoons on other activities. And no homework on the weekends, my kids love it!

I chose All Saints because I have seen with my friends children what well rounded young adults they have become and how the school has prepared them to take on high school with ease. My son is so respectful the children mimic what they see and are taught and because the entire staff treats all children with compassion, respect, and integrity that plays a huge roll in passing these wonderful traits on to our children.

I have been a parent since 2003 and my 3rd child is now in first grade. Mr. Conroy has been an exceptional administrator. Having been involved in PTO for many years, I saw up close how caring, thoughtful and intentional he was with all his decisions making sure they were student centered and would make a positive impact on the school. His door is always open and he listens to parents and the community. He is responsive and attentive to changes in technology and teaching trends while always maintaining a high standard of academic excellence, faith education and character development of the students. He treats every student with respect. He sets the tone of hospitality, respect and professionalism at All Saints.

I have been a parent here for 12 years and plan on seeing my youngest through to 8th grade (another 7 years). It has only improved with each passing year and the teachers are wonderful and the school community itself feels like a family. The parent community is so active so it supports the students, teachers for the betterment of the whole school. My daughter who is in high school is seeing first hand the strong academic foundation she had at All Saints. With two students going through middle school now, I am particularly impressed with the middle school program and how they coordinate together to make a great experience for these students. Love the new House system in Middle School. I would recommend this school to anyone (and I have done so many times!). I feel so blessed to be part of this caring, faith filled community!

Advanced students are not challenged enough, but are graded harder while lazy, poor performing students are allowed to do the bare minimal or less than the minimal and are given passing grades for their mediocre efforts.

Bullies are not dealt with accordingly. Teachers and the principal excuse racist comments and aggressive behaviors of Caucasian students while selectively targeting some African American and darker skinned students by either victim blaming them or labelling them problem students when they report the behaviors of others. In general, bullying is not dealt with effectively.

Below average/ poor. This school got worse year after year. Many parents withdrew their kids once they got to middle school by sending them to other nearby private schools or opted for public school. Those that stayed through middle school more often than not were sent to public high schools after parents become so dissatisfied with their experiences at All Saints. Overall the elementary side of the school is better then the middle school. The teachers are better and more attentive.

Some teachers lie along with the principal when confronted which is inexcusable and sets a poor example for the kids. Certain kids are allowed to be disrespectful to teachers and make racists comments and jokes towards other students with no consequences. The principal excuses the racist behavior while searching for reasons to reprimand other students who try to do the right things. Everything starts from the top and students are a reflection of the leaders at the school.

The principal, Mr. Conroy seemed to care more about the perception of the school than how the school actually functioned. He projected an image of order, but in reality it was really dysfunctional. Through experiences and observations, he treated African American parents with significantly less respect than Caucasian parents and the same is true for the children that attend the school. Yet, he seemed to expect more respect from those he disrespected. He is selective in who he reprimands and when. He only effectively dealt with problems when those issues could reflect negatively on the school such as a poor performing or abusive faulty member. He provided lip service to parents just to pacify them when they addressed real issues to him. Many expressed their dislike of him being condescending and dismissive during their interactions with him, especially towards the African American parents. In addition, he did not show a genuine appreciation or respect for parents time or the money that they spent to send their children to All Saints. He behaved as if he was doing parents a favor by allowing their children to attend the school instead of recognizing that parents choosing to send their kids to Catholic schools is why he has a job. This is a Catholic school and most expect the principal to behave like a Christian. However, at times he displayed hypocrisy and showed biases. The school would benefit from the current vice principal taking over as she seems fair, unbiased and is respected by parents and students. She seemed to believe in a collaborative approach that included parental involvement.

The school does their best to prevent bullying. It is a topic that is talked about and the children are given strategies on how to deal with bullies. Most importantly there is an emphasis on teaching students to be kind to others and different ways to do that.

The Principal and Vice Principal are very caring. They make the effort daily to engage with the children and parents. I am also happy with the amount of communication given about what's going on at the school. Every week a newsletter is sent out via email, it is very helpful to see all that's going on in the school.

The school appears to work hard at differentiation is the class rooms. There are different spelling, reading, and math levels.
Last year the 4th grade teachers offered a math workshop for children that were struggling in math. They did not have to do this. They did this because they genuinely care about the success of the students.

We have been a part of the All Saints School community since 2013. We love all the administration, teachers, and staff. The Catholic faith that is instilled everyday is a beautiful thing. I also feel that the education my children are receiving is above what the public schools are offering.

The resource teacher is phenomenal. She works directly with teachers to accommodate students that have a documented need for extra assistance. In the classrooms, the teachers do a very good job of meeting all students where they are. I have seen this especially in the new reading program, Units of Study. Students are assessed on their reading level each trimester and the books they are given to read on on their level.

Bullies are allowed to be harassing and unkind to fellow students as long as they cooperate with staff and put on a good show acting innocent. Likewise kind and cooperative students have more expectations put on them by staff and are not supported in a way that would make them comfortable and supported to find their voice and speak out against injustice.

Respect is taught in an extremely authoritarian manner from the top down, and while there are some teachers who model compassion and integrity, other staff including the principal, the previous assistant principal, and some teachers demonstrate a personal lack of integrity and compassion, but they are good actors who fool many.

There does not seem to be any consistent individual learning plan in place for students, and those students who fall below or are above the average are often treated poorly or ignored. Gifted students deal with excess “busy work” which dampens their interest and enthusiasm instead of inspiring them to extend their learning experience.

The current Middle School teachers are better than in the past. However, the Math program in Middle school for those that are not top flyers is lacking. The teacher does not have the skill set to be teaching the subject. Hopefully that will change.

Not very happy thus far. If it wasn't for a fantastic PRE K experience we would have pulled our child out of the school after Kindergarten. Class size is not what we expected when enrolling in a "private" school that is supposed to be able to give more 1 on 1 attention if/when needed. Some of the teachers, at the very early stage (K & 1st grade), are simply not equipped to handle and motivate the children at that age. Learning at the kindergarten and 1st grade level should be FUN! The children should be super excited to go to school, most days. For us, it is a challenge to get our child motivated daily because the child isn't motivated at school at all. The homework is on black and white paper (other than the uniform, what exactly are we paying for?), it is repetitive and mundane. There is no way for parents to verify what the homework actually should be if the child did not write it down correctly-causing there to be a single point of failure (a 6 year old!). There just isn't much of a difference, from what we could tell from visiting other private AND public schools, in the approach to education. It is the same everywhere. The kids are told to sit, be quiet, raise your hand if you want to talk and we will tell you what to think. I hope next year will be better and the school takes into consideration the types of teachers teaching at different levels. If you have teachers that have been teaching for 15 or 20 years at a K, 1st or 2nd grade level there might be a slight set back there. The world has changed and evolved but the approach to "teaching" our kids remains the same. There needs to be a revolutionary approach and I am still waiting for that school to exist. Kids at the early stages need fun activities, a teacher that motivates them and makes them laugh and makes them actually want to come to school instead of giving them anxiety every morning. I will remain optimistic and hope for the best, but if it wasn't for a fantastic Pre K experience and a great principal we would not be back.

There is no way for parents, at least for my kid's class, to verify what the homework is or if the student wrote down the correct homework (this is for the 6-7 year old kids, not the 4th graders and above).

When your child's teacher gives you nothing but negative feedback after 3 weeks of school, and when asked "what is my child doing well?" the response you get is "it is too early for me to tell" that tells me there is something wrong with the approach and the mentality toward the children. This isn't for an older student, we're talking Kindergarten and 1st grade.

This answer depends on the grade, the teacher and your child. So many years I've heard parents in the same class have opposite opinions on the homework load. It's a balance the school is always working on.

In everything that is done there is an emphasis on respect and responsibility, integrity and "doing the right thing." And all of it starts with the emphasis in prayer and faith. Everything starts with prayers at All Saints and their attendance at Mass weekly further reinforces faith as the key component of the school's mission.

Students come out of All Saints prepared for a college bound, high school curriculum. The library and A/R program develops readers who love reading. Writing skills are emphasized at ALL grades and levels. The school has put a huge emphasis on developing math, science and robotics at all levels. The teachers, many of whom have been at the school for 5-15 years have been very receptive to bringing new STEM related techniques into the classroom. It's a developing program but at least it's developing. And all of this in an environment where children are taught respect and responsibility and the teachers and administration are more than approachable!

The handbook states a far less amount of homework per grade than the teachers actually give. At the very least, the handbook should be honest about what teachers actually give so parent's can assess accordingly.

The amount of homework did not match what was stated in the handbook especially for grades 4th- 5th and up. Many families with intelligent kids left over the years because of this. Some parents do not put their kids in extracurricular activities because of the amount of homework. Some parents are ok with that. Be prepared.

My son has been going to All Saints Catholic school for six years now. We are so impressed with the building, teachers and leadership, learning material, and overall experience. At first we just thought he would go up to grade 8 in the Catholic school system...but now we're considering sending him to Catholic High School. We are going on 7 years at All Saints and could not be happier with the school. Our three children are receiving a top notch education in an environment where they are encouraged to live their faith. Mr. Conroy and Mrs. Campagna care about each student/family and take the time to get to know them; teachers and staff develop and foster a wonderful environment for educational and personal growth. LOVE this school! I love how parental involvement is strongly encouraged. My monkey can't get away with things because I can be there to witness for myself how things are going. I love how the administration personally and quickly addresses concerns no matter how minor--even ones I barely mentioned in passing. My 1st grader loves going to school (ok, he doesn't love the homework--but who does?), loves his teacher, and regularly astounds me with the things he's learning. He's even taught me a few things too! Can't say enough about how great this school is for our family.

Academically strong, however, many children were pushed to take ADHD drugs and the school pushed children with only 5 - 10 minute recess. They made the children march during their breaks in circles. They were also expected to put their heads on the tables for silent lunches. Starting in third grade they would send them home with three hours of homework. The Administration felt this is the way to handle children.

The teachers at ASCS make time for children. They work long hours. They care for our children and put so much of themselves into their jobs. The school requests homework feedback from the parents every year regarding homework and has standards for each grade to ensure that students are not spending their entire evening doing homework. The level of communication between teachers and parents that I saw last year was amazing!! By the end of the first week I was already receiving emails from the teacher with pictures from class activities, updates on what the students would be working on that week and information on classroom projects that parents could come assist with in school if we wanted to. At the end of the first week every student was send home with a weekly calendar for the upcoming week so I would know what my student was doing during the upcoming week, what concepts they were learning, what letter and number they were learning each week and more.

Over the past year I've watched my son blossom under the instruction of the amazing pre-K team at All Saints!! He had SO much fun last year that it didn't even seem like school to him!! He has been asking me every day since school got out when he could go back!! He spent hours trying on the different pieces to his uniform and getting his backpack organized and ready to go!! He can't wait to start Kindergarten next week and I have every confidence that the Kindergarten team will have him just as excited for 1st grade next year!!

Definite pluses to this school include the fact that it is an allergy free school (peanut and tree nut free facility) and they work with parents to identify and eliminate food allergies in the cafeteria and classrooms. The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program is also a big plus that most public Elementary and Middle Schools don't offer. All Saints also welcomes involvement by parents and encourages volunteering in the school both in the classroom and with extracurricular activities at a level that I have never seen in any public school. This school is a school family, the Principal makes it a point to know all the kids names and to know their parents as well which is amazing knowing how many students attend this school. The test results as well as the excitement that I see in the classrooms when I visit are clear indicators that this school is one of the top schools in the Northern Virginia area and was my first choice for my kids after touring numerous schools.

I have had children attending All Saints for the better part of 8 years. This school has been a real blessing in all our lives. My children have gotten a solid academic foundation for high school, they have made great friends, and have had their faith strengthened and their sense of Catholic identity enlivened. Parents also find a warm and welcoming community of adults. I highly recommend the school as an all around enriching experience! There is truly nothing better, in my book, than being in one of the assemblies, hearing the children pray boldly together and then joyfully cheer for and encourage each other in their efforts... which is what you will find happening at the various spelling and geography bees, the musical and drama performances, NJHS, etc.

I have 2 children attending All Saints - I couldn't be happier with every aspect of the school. The teachers are very dedicated & 2nd to none, the supporting staff is top notch, the children are very supportive of each other, the parents are eager to volunteer, and all are lead by an incredible, intelligent, caring principal and his vice principal. Regarding a post from last year - yes the school does have recess monitored by volunteer parents. To me this is a great example of the school and the family working together towards the success of the child. Parents also volunteer in the class room, library, and in many school sponsored events thru out the year. Yes there is a hard top for recess - there is ALSO a field area complete with an extensive playground (this has been there for many years). I have never had an issue with the school notifying me on the 3 occasions my daughters received minor injuries or became ill. The class size seems to be on par with what I've seen in the local public schools. The children do have homework and much is expected of them academically - RIGHT ON! I never hesitate to recommend All Saints to other parents.

We have been at this school for 3 seasons, This year exceptionally high turnover in staffing. The carpool system is horrible and inefficently run. Parents and volunteers staff lunch and recess which leads to no disapline and issues arise within in that time. My child has been injured at school and I not been informed. Larger class sizes then most public schools and the recess and PE is perfomred on a aspahlt parking lot. No fields are available. On a positive note--I do believe my childs academics are above par, but they are working their nails to the grindstone. But we will not be returning.

Our son is in Kindgergarten at All Saints and we couldn't be more pleased. The teachers and staff are dedicated and ensure that parents are very involved in their child's development. The principal sends out regular updates to parents to ensure they are aware of the day-to-day activities and concerns. The curriculum is strong and well balanced and as a result our son will now enter first grade already reading, writing, and performing basic math functions. Our son loves the school, loves his teachers and has made some great friends in his first year. All Saints excells at reinforcing our Catholic faith and assisting parents in installing the morals, values and discipline that our kids so desperately need today. We are so happy with this school that our 4 year old will start the Pre-k program there as well next year.
