With the caveat that my child has only been here for a year, I have been impressed with her progress during her time at St Francis. She enjoys going to school, her classmates and enjoys the social aspects of catholic education. She has told me she has to stay all the way through, which seems like a good sign.

This is a traditional Catholic school. They have shorter days every Friday and attend mass as a school every Friday. In some grades there is more opportunity to participate as a parent volunteer than others. Some teachers do not allow parents to come in at all except for parent conferences. I believe it really depends on the teacher and how she runs her class. Most, if not all, teachers are women. The school lacks diversity and does not celebrate cultural holidays or showcase encore subjects such as art or technology. Although they do have a spanish teacher that teaches spanish language. The school would benefit from having more parent involvement in activities with the children after school. Art night or music night sounds fun and an activity that most schools have, including private school. Some classes are not very fun and include many worksheets. If your child enjoys doing worksheets then they will do fine. The PTO has been more active this school year and trying to have the fun activities outside of normal school hours.

Having grown up attending Catholic schools, I was looking forward to having my children attend a Catholic School as well. Our experience has been extremely disappointing. The class sizes are too large, overwhelming inexperienced teachers. There are no consequences for bad behavior, therfore no improvement throughout the year. The amount of both grammatical and spelling errors by the teachers is disturbing. In our experience, the teachers do not take personal accountability nor do they hold the students personally accountable for their actions. Group punishment only demoralizes the students trying to do the right thing. Any incident of bullying reported is written off as "an accident". For the amount of money spent to attend, you will not see a return on your investment. Our students started the year above the national average, but throughout the year are now below. It is more cost effective to attend a public school and get a tutor.

I'll break out each of the categories:

Learning: It's impossible to learn in an environment with inexperienced teachers who are student parents solely interested in their child's interest.

Teaching: It's really a joke. No degree or anything needed to teach. With the exception of 3 teachers none have a substantive teaching background. Lots of parent "teachers" working at the school to ensure their kid does well. No interest in teaching. You can start of as an assistant teacher and graduate to a teacher by the next year.

Social-Emotional Support: Yes, for the larger white population only or the parent teachers.

Special Education: Nonexistent

Safety: Discrimination is rampant despite it being faith based.

Family Engagement: If you have the right skin color.

This school has zero interest in helping students and parents, especially at the prekindergarten level. If your child has any special needs or struggles at all with transitioning to a new environment, this is not the place for you. They will not provide your student with any time to transition and will kick your child out before even meeting with you. They have no interest in helping a child improve or allow their parents to volunteer to provide additional support to their children. Please do not buy into the idea that they are committed to providing a Christ-based education for your kids. All they want is your money and for kids to fall in line immediately or else. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL AT ALL COSTS!

We have been apart of the St. Francis family for four years now! Both of my sons have had great experiences. We ended up making the jump when Covid shut things down and it was the best decision we made. Both sons are thriving and constantly test a year ahead of public school curriculum. They offer sports options for kids as young as third grade, which my boys love. We have lots of opportunities to be involved with fun school events & happenings. My only complaint would be the lack of playground/ recess options for older kids beyond the blacktop.

It was a traumatic experience for my child to study in this school. Teacher used outdated methods and was making a lot of mistakes. Amount of homework was ridiculous. Up to 20 kids in the class. Principal's communication was deceitful. There are better private schools in the area!

This is by far the cruelest school on the planet. Do not look at any of the other reviews. I have had the worst experience ever at this school. The teachers are mean, the school nurse practically runs the school, and it is not a fun school to be at. You may be asking what could be so bad about a little Catholic private school. Everything is bad! You get the same education as a public school and you are completely stressed 24/7 with all the homework. I once had 6 hours worth of homework which means if I got home at 3:30 took an hour break for dinner and worked 6 hours straight I would be up till 10:30! Aside from the homework, the teachers dissuade what you want to do when you grow up. My teacher asked what do you want to do when you grow up. I said a professional soccer player. You know what she said. She said Good luck but you won't ever be good enough. Imagine that. I will leave it to you if you want to spend $7,000 on a school like this but I warned you.

While we like the size of the school for our kids, the school is not well organized at all, although they seem to THINK they are organized, but they are by no means running a tight ship. Class work seems disorganized too, with homework being overwhelming at times for my kids. I do not appreciate the teaching style in the elementary school, work sheets and fill in this for homework, but what is being done in class? I feel like work sheets are substituting for actual teaching and I know my children are not learning as much as their peers elsewhere. I have heard that the middle school is better organized, but I don’t know that we will be in the area to find out for sure.

My child is in the prek class here and I feel that the school needs to find a way to put that classroom in the big school and not in the church building. I feel there is a disconnect and the principal is so hands off with the preschool program that it is falling behind. My child loves the teachers and I feel they are good teachers, but there needs to be more regulation as to what goes on in the classroom.

We have absolutely loved St. Francis. I have a preschooler and a second-grader, and highly recommend the school. The staff are so warm and friendly, and the kids love the principal, teachers and friars. We are a military family and only stationed in the area for a year, but our kids were welcomed immediately and never felt like outsiders. Highly recommend.

My daughter attended St. Francis and has gone on to do very well. The teachers all have advanced degrees and excellent credentials. They really care about the students and are continually implementing advanced learning techniques. The comment about the class size is true, some of the classes are large but in K-5 there are two teachers per classroom which is a student to teacher ratio much better than most schools. The middle school students are split many times. The math classes may be split three ways allowing for individual attention. The classes are active, meaning that an unknowing parent may interpret it as not being controlled. Being a teacher myself, I recognized the group interaction, hands-on learning and allowance for children to actively learn. Never had a problem with bullying, very active anti-bully program. Would highly recommend this highly nurturing environment.
