We were so delighted with the education and experience our son had at Brooksfield. We had a very tough time at another school and were astonished at how quickly our child thrived at Brooksfield. His teachers were genuine, kind, thoughtful educators who were patient as our child settled in to his new environment. All the staff members were friendly, very responsive, and enthusiastic. There is a real community at Brooksfield, and we treasured the musical programs and activities at the school. Our son has started elementary school, and we continue to be surprised at the skills he shows that he mastered at Brooksfield: fine motor skills, exhibiting care with delicate things, being thoughtful about the environment around him and the feelings of others. We are so happy to have been part of the Brooksfield community!

You could not ask for a better early learning environment than Brooksfield! It is a vibrant, warm, caring, creative environment where children absolutely thrive. I have had a relationship with the school since its inception (I was a past student!), and I have now had the privilege of sending my sons there, too. The staff is absolutely amazing - loving, engaged, creative, and knowledgeable - and it truly feels like a family atmosphere. Parents and families are strongly encouraged to volunteer and participate, which in my opinion creates a super strong sense of community. The Montessori curriculum has been so great for my boys, encouraging their independence and curiosity, and I have found it to be an excellent foundation for future learning in elementary school. Further, the school offers additional unique programming, such as an outdoor classroom environment, outdoor adventure programming, Spanish, art, and music, among others. Brooksfield also recently completed its move to a brand new location, and the facilities are impeccable (all recently renovated), with a new playground already in the works. I truly cannot speak highly enough about what a special place Brooksfield is!

I have been a parent and administrator at Brooksfield for over 30 years. I have 4 children who all attended Brooksfield and were 4 very different learners and they all thrived. They along with other Alumni return every year to work as summer camp counselors, giving back to their Brooksfield community. Brooksfield recently move to a new state of the art facility in McLean, VA. We are a school dedicated to the arts and the outdoors. As a parent I loved all of the academics but what I loved and continue to love is the appreciation for the arts and the outdoors. Digging for worms, learning about the life cycle of the wild life in the area, making mud pies and learning how to be curious learner is my favorite. As an administrator, the faculty is top notch. Their background in Montessori education and their love for teaching and child development is shown in their daily lessons, units of study and the smiles on all of their students faces when they come to school is the sweetest.

My son didn't go here, but when a bunch of Brooksfield students attended his kindegarden they were a bunch of bullies. Brooksfield trains future bullies and racists.

Horrifying and disappointing. Instead of training future good citizen leaders they train bullying alpha males.

I not only taught at this school, but I am still involved today. I have taught all over, philadelphia, NYC, suburbs etc...this is, by far, the best school I've ever taught in or worked with. The #1 goal of the school is HAPPY KIDS and they achieve that while giving them a superior education that thinks outside the box. The kids are supported academically, creatively, emotionally. They study things like robotics, chess, organic gardening and meditation. They offer music, art, movement, outdoor adventures, Spanish, computers, PE etc. And...the staff is treated like gold. Happy teachers equals happy kids. Must check out this school! 5 STARS and then some.

This is a pretty good Montessori school for the Nova area. Sometimes some of the front office staff are little rude or annoyed, but other than them most everyone is super friendly. They provide a nurturing, fun, friendly education environment and have lovely grounds. The pro's include incorporation of mindfulness into the curriculum, the playground, extended day for those that need it, and lots of enrichment (art, spanish, yoga, etc.) opportunities during and after school. The cons are that they have recently lost two of their long time lead teachers in the preschool program so the quality is unknown in those classrooms (they've replaced the experienced teachers with really new teachers),some of the office staff are not the friendliest people around, and they have a pretty aggressive fundraising policy. However, the admissions process is relatively painless.

Brooksfield is a Montessori School dedicated to the arts and outdoors. My children are thriving and love going to school everyday. They learn about a wide range of topics and love every minute of being in the classroom working. They love their specialist classes, gardening and the arts! The teachers are always positive and go out of their way to get to know your child and you as a parent. The families are very outgoing and participate in many different school related activities. The learning that goes on in the classrooms is amazing and the children walk away each day with a wealth of knowledge. I highly recommend looking into Brooksfield.

This is seriously an AMAZING school. The children are treated with so much respect and love and taught to love learning. The school is well-run, efficient, warm, friendly, responsive to parents and houses the most amazing group of highly-trained, creative, friendly, wonderful teachers. I am so thankful to have my daughter in this environment.
