We have had three kids at CCA for the past four years. We love it. Academics are great. Teachers are excellent and accountability is expected. Sports and extracurriculars are popular with the students and supported by administration. Overall environment is caring, demanding (in a good way) and keeps the students engaged. Fantastic school and we could not be more grateful for the home our kids have there.

We have been a part of the Christ Chapel Academy family in Woodbridge, VA for more than 16 years. Our family and extended family absolutely love CCA. Our daughter attended CCA from Kindergarten to 12th grade and is excelling in college. College is so easy for her due to her academic foundation and the vested interest from her Teachers at CCA. Our son began at CCA from two years old and will continue to attend CCA until he graduates. CCA is a school that provides a strong Christian and academic foundation, many academic and after school clubs, and a variety of sports to keep the students involved. The Administrator, Principals, Teachers, and Staff really love the kids and want to see them win. They are truly invested in their future and for that we are extremely grateful.

Honestly, do not send your kids here for high school. Teachers are mediocre at best and the support staff is non-existent. High schoolers aren't encouraged to aim for competitive or Ivy League schools. Many of the teachers do not even help kids try for Ivy's. They are too okay with mediocrity. The "college prep" is an unrealistic and useless workload. A student's success at this school depends on how much they want to sacrifice. If your kid plans to have no friends, be in no clubs, do no sports, and just study, CCA is perfect for them. Yes, there is a good culture and a good community. From what my daughter has told me, CCA is like a family. however the academic policies and results are discouraging. They use the excuse their workload is hard, challenging, or unforgiving. In reality, it is unrealistic. Students are expected to practically teach themselves at home and do busy work at school. Then take a 65-question test on material they barely understand. Leaving them with no time to simply enjoy youth.

There is a lack of support between teachers and parents as well. "High school students are grown, there should be virtually no communication between the parent and the teacher." You will probably hear something like that several times throughout the year. It's just a tactic they use to barely teach kids and get away with it.

The school is very Godly, constantly quoting the Bible in every instance. Yet, they can be hypocritical. My daughter has come home talking about several instances where teachers were gossiping with and about other students.

Any of the surrounding schools like Colgan or Forest Park would be a better option and I wish sent my daughter there. There would be an actual school counselor and proper support to turn my daughter into a healthy working adult rather than a godly teenager.

Great for Lower School. Average at best for Upper School. Inconsistent discipline. Favoritism is strong for students whose parents work for the school or church, at the expense of better performing students without such connections. Bullying is rampant and largely ignored. Sports take precedence over academics.

Music department is fantastic, however, Just not worth paying such expensive tuition for music, though, as there are also plenty of great music programs in public schools in the county.

Christ Chapel Academy has been a fantastic school for my son since PreK3. He now attends Kindergarten. Every single interaction with the staff exceed my expectations. They put my son's best interest first at all times and my son is excelling tremendously in his academics here. We love CCA!

My child transitioned with great ease from the Classical Christian Home school. Not only does this school maintain the Christian World View that we are pursuing, it contains dedicate skilled staff who have chosen to live out their leadership by example knowing the influence they are having on these future leaders. I will admit, I was initially uncertain of what we were going into as the open houses we attended did not truly reflect the demographics of the whole school. I have a daughter, yet the open house reflect many boys. Our trust proved fine as my daughter has many friends who are girls and boys. Demographics is not an issue here. This school has dedicated students athletes and so encourages others to want to attend here. Although we all want state championships, the focus is in this order, God, Grades, Games. Character counts! Sports start out with the pledge and continue with a blessing before the games. Team efforts along with good sportsmanship prevails here. The opportunities for college focus is here. There is dual enrollment but we have not experienced it yet as my student is not yet eligible. I would like to encourage you that if you are interested in having your student attend CCA, you get them started in or before middle school. There is a track (for us it was math) that if they aren't up to the same level, they may not be able to get in due to not offering the class since they do not have the same resources larger schools have. Still, if your child does need extra help, the teachers are dedicated and willing to help during study halls, before or after school. I much appreciate that. Over all, I think this was the best choice for my student. I thank God for CCA staff and the parents/students who go there. Highly Recommend!

This school could be good, but the leadership is more focused on their own interests. There is no interaction or feedback from the administration regarding any concerns of parents or students. The school is closed off from any parent interaction or involvement. Questions regarding classes and learning go unanswered. Social interactions between students in class and activities are very limited. Would not recommend this school to anyone.

Christ Chapel Academy has been a real blessing to our family. We have three children at CCA and we could not love it more. The teachers are passionate about what they do and how they love the Lord. The administration is always open to listen to any concerns we have and issues are addressed immediately. This school is so much more than just a school, it is a community.

Christ Chapel Academy had an initial great presentation. However our experience there was very short lived. This school is very misleading with their title and diversity numbers as well. Our family had a very awful experience with this Christian school. Their diverse representation is definitely due to the diverse population in the local area not their out reach program. They are very strategic with their advertisement. My family and I were treated very dismissive and less than. Also their tuition/books and mandatory fees are very expensive in comparison to other private schools in the area. Christ Chapel will also make you sign a contract for the YEAR for those materials regardless if they are used and no matter how brief your child attends. Don't be fooled those books/materials/trip fees are more than some college fees. We only received 5 small paperback books that were hundreds of dollars and we had to pay after leaving the school after a very short period of time. What's awful about this policy, is that they have a waiting list of children to get into the school. So most likely our child was replaced with another child and that family paid those same fees for the same year. Not the type of business practice I would expect from a Christian school. The schools current leadership presents themselves as elitist and as for profit institution. Lastly, you will not have access to your child's educational environment outside of the initial parent teacher night. You are bussed in daily, signed in and out which comes across initially great for security. However, we found several instances were there what our child was saying, teacher, staff and school head stories did not match up. They don't have cameras (for parents) nor can you come and watch your child's instruction. Again, this school is very expensive not to have those tools. Also be aware the schools handbook is unilateral, meaning you have to adhere to the polices but they don't. Don't be fooled by the location, diversity, nor the title. Do your research there are plenty of great private schools in the area. Sadly, this is not one and we found out the hard way and exposed our kids to an environment that we regret.

First year for our kids at Christ Chapel Academy (lower school) and a few months left to go and we are happy. So far the principles and teachers have done a great job communicating with us and keeping us informed. My children have not complained and just as they come home happy afterschool, they go to school just as happy to attend. I am unsure on how the secondary and upper school function, but I can say that I am very happy with how the lower school works. Covid matters have been handled accordingly and in a very responsible manner. All cases have been reported and they have done a great job explaining the procedures moving forward, being that they are 100% in person learning. The teachers have done a wonderful job being creative in their lessons while keeping social distancing and keeping out kids safe. My kids do not come home sad about having to be a few feet apart from their new friends, or by the fact that they have to wear a mask the whole time, expect for when they eat. I will update my review accordingly, but we are extremely happy that we found this school near us.

This school is average at best. The only reason they are rated best private school in the county is due to brazen pushes for families to vote them so in a yearly survey. My son attended Kindergarten through 4th grade and, with the exception of the first year, it was more of a struggle each year. Very laced teachers who never received training for enhancement any year we attended. COVID-19 proved they woefully inept technologically. They've used the pandemic for capitalizing on public schools going virtual and never even polled parents for input. They've stolen two months of advanced tuition from us and eight other families we know of and refuse to return it. The administration waited until the day the second of those withdrawals took place to release their quite inadequate opening plan. The school is tiny and cannot accommodate CDC guidelines. This is not a Christian school. It is a money game.

I feel there could be improvement in this area. Like I stated earlier - there are a few students I am aware of that put on a show to seem as if they are kind and caring but when the teachers backs are turned there is meanness and judgement and lack of empathy. I know the new administration is working diligently on this.

Overall this school has been pretty awesome. I feel they address any concerns I may have in a relatively timely manner and my interactions with most have been positive (you know there is always that one...lol) . The homework load is fair at Christ Chapel. My child went to a different private school and honestly, we didnt have a life due to the sheer volume. My child can manage this work load and still have time to talk and play with her friends. I am all about balance!!

Terrible leadership, the structure is very badly made; even though my administrator was good at what he did, most of the administrators just are terrible; (also just as a recommendation if you are looking for administrators, never, ever, go to the general administrators, and only use your grade level administrator).

The school does it's best to create leaders and tries to show that, many students do have excellent leadership qualities, and they encourage that; however, the level they advertise to everyone else is only 1% of actual leadership.

Well went to the open house today, 12/2/2016. At first I was very impressed, the intro presentation gave me info that I wanted as an overview. My husband and I was pleased with the tours of Elementary and Middle school. To be honest I was ready to enroll, we just moved here due to Military, and wanted to get them started in the new semester. That all changed when I went to the office to discuss admissions, offerings for child with slight learning assistane, etc. I had a warm feeling until then. I felt dismissed, rushed, and what was presented during the initial presentation/tour was not the same as I was hearing now. The fellowship of families did not translate when starting to discuss cost, enrollment, and slight special accommodation. Guess we will just have to start looking at other Christian schools. I have it 2 stars due to the initial presentation and the individuals who did the tours of Elementary and Middle School. If I was to give this review strictly on the front office it would be a 1, only cause I could not go lower.

I went to Christ Chapel Academy for 13 years and I'm a proud class of 2014 graduate. They took care of me all of my years from kindergarten all the way up to 12 grade. The teachers are really good and care about you and your grades. There is also a lot the school does to build up your faith such as Chapel and various student organizations. The athletic program is very good where both the cross-country and varsity basketball teams went to the state championship.

It has its pros and cons just like any school, but the teachers that truly care about you and are invested in your life, the chapels that allow you to go deeper spiritually, and the variety of students of all ages that become friends because of the small environment all make CCA worthwhile. CCA has been our school for the past 5 years. I have one student in middle school and one in high school. This school strives to meet every aspect a school should. Their desire is to bring current technology to the classroom while teaching the students the subject matter. Spiritual growth is a constant presence that is taught every day. The teachers at this school are amazing and we are blessed to be here.

I appreciate the fact that they offer honor courses that challenge my children, technology courses, a drama program and an athletic program to provide my children with plenty of extracurricular activities. I am currently a senior here at Christ Chapel Academy. I have been a student here since the 9th grade. My favorite aspect of this school is the teachers; the teachers truly care about their students and want them to succeed. I have known teachers to postpone tests if they knew that the class was struggling, and to take time out of their busy schedules to help a student in need. One morning, I was feeling very overwhelmed; seeing that, one of my favorite teachers, Mr. Harrell, chased me down the hallway just to pray with me. I immediately felt a sense of peace that lasted for quite a while. The administrators are known for this as well. The quality of education here is outstanding; the high school teachers try to prepare students for college as best they can. Mrs. Nuckols and Mrs. Andujar instill very important skills such as critical reading, thinking, and analysis that will carry students throughout the rest of their lives. Overall, I would say that this is a great school in which to enroll your child. Although the size of the school may be a bit limiting, it helps create a familial atmosphere and allows teachers to get to know their students on a personal level.

There are so many things that set Christ Chapel apart from other local schools. The teachers truly care for each individual student in a way that extends far beyond the academic field- they care for the individual as a person. They are willing to give personal time outside of the classroom to help you understand the material. This private school operations is below standards. The Administration is disorganized and very nonresponsive. Teachers do not conduct asssessment of the student skills or provide consistent feedback to parents. Grades are always entered late in the homework/grading system. It's difficult for parents to track their child's progress. If your child is struggling in any subject area, this is not the school for him/her. Their expectations for students are high but the teachers at the secondary lack the skills/technicques to reach the students.

Would not recommend . The Elementary part is solid , but the upper level part is below standards . There is no system of accountablity to measure student progress, and I seriously doubt the academic rigors of this instiution. I decided to switch my child back to a public school, and her teachers have indicated that she's below grade level. She was an "A" student for her three high school years at CCA

My child attended CCA for about a year. In that time, I learned that CCA does a great job positioning itself, and selling you exactly what you want to hear. Once you enroll your child, you quickly see the cracks in the system. Now, it s true that every school will have issues, and as a parent, you hope that you can partner with the school to make positive changes. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Poor management of the pre-school and middle school; Bullying; Unmotivated teachers; teachers are unresponsive to genuine parental complaints; the teachers aren t equipped to practice differentiated learning. A teacher informed me that my son was too advanced and often bored in the class, but she had other kids who were so far behind that she couldn t dedicated the necessary time to challenge my son. The teacher was being honest but receiving no support. I also found out that the assistant teacher who was supposed to be hired to help the talented kids was never hired. Eight months in and nothing! When someone tells you that a school is good/great, ask them, compared to what?

Very dissatisfied with my sons kindergarten teacher! She was rude and yelled at the students. I have walked in unexpected to he and witnessed this myself along with my son telling me. She is also very uneducated and cannot SPELL! I have had to correct her on papers sent home several times. She would also mark correct answers wrong on my sons papers. Luckily would check his work daily. Kindergarten was a horrible experience there for him.

This will be my daughter's 4th year in elementary and my son's 1st year in high school at CCA. I have been very pleased with the curriculum and believe my daughter has learned alot about God and Christian behaviour. There is bullying in every school and while administration does have some part in dealing with it, it is ultimately the parents of a child who need to rectify it. The staff can be a flustered and come off as rude sometimes, but we all do when we are bogged down and overwhelmed. This may be a Christian school but if parents come in with an un-christian like attitude, then it is only fair to expect a somewhat lackluster response from the staff/teachers. Every situation is different and there may be circumstances for some, that were out of line by staff or teachers, but overall, it is a parents duty to keep your children from being unruly, bullying or being insubordinate.

The school also focuses on getting more money from the kids than educating them. the school has about a handful of good teachers. I have a child in Christ Chapel and have found it to be a very good school. I have spoken and had interaction with both the elementary and secondary principals and find them to be both articulate and intelligent. I have never been disappointed in bring my family to event involving the school. I even attended the graduation this year and was very pleased with the level of the event. I hope that people who look to these reviews do not go by what has been written here but will come and tour and experience Christ Chapel for themselves. I am very, very happy with the school.

We would not recommend this school to anyone. We do not believe that it is an "academy;" rather, it is a disorganized, poorly-managed, average school. It is not worth the rising tuition costs. My children went there for several years, and it had gotten progressively worse. It was embarrassing to bring family and friends to events and/or to talk with administration and staff (other than teachers). My college-educated family members were not very impressed... There are some good teachers, even a few great ones, but the administration (both for lower and upper grades) is very lacking. They are prideful and not very intelligent or articulate. There are too many chiefs and not enough indians. Also, our experience was that policies and discipline are not consistent. Prayers won't help an administration that is not focused on offering a solid, Godly, Christian education to our children.

I have read many of the recently written reviews by individuals who had a bad experience but I would like to differ with what is being said. I find that the teachers have all spent their summer working to enhance their educational experiences that they can share with their students, from Kindergarten to 12th grade. The administration follows what is written in the hand book but does look at major issues on an individual basis, as I would hope that they do. It seems that there are some people with issues that need prayer as all of these reviews have been written in the last two weeks. I would recommend Christ Chapel to anyone!

AS a former student, graduate, and employee I would only like to say that I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH WHAT THIS SCHOOL HAS BECOME!!! I have been with this school/church since I was born and I feel like the administration is in all honesty (Insert random swear word) LACKING!!!!! Not the teachers but the other workers such as the office staff, kitchen crew, and janitorial services arent GETTING THE PAY THEY DESERVE OR THE (Insert random swear word) RESPECT THEY RIGHTFULLY DESERVE FOR DOING THE WORK THEY DO!. They clean up messes that aren't they're own and aren't thanked for a dang thing. And the some not all of the teachers prefer to ignore the questions that the students have because the questions are apparently WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to difficult for them to manage.

My child has attended 3 different Christian Schools and has been at CCA for several years now. Compared to the 2 other schools we attended, CCA is excellent in facilities, and offers students much more than the traditional reading, writing, and arithmetic. Because of the education provided, my child is prepared for college, he has received a well rounded education including the opportunity to participate in H.S. sports and other extra curriculum activities.

(Former elementary, middle, and high school student of CCA) There is no accurate way to review this school that would stretch the gamut of its elementary, middle, and high school. Basically, it continually falls short as the grades get higher. The elementary school is drastically different and is under a different principal than the middle and high school is. The elementary school principal has been with the school since its founding, and knows a lot about education. The reading, writing, and other skills I learned in kindergarten from this school really shaped me as a student. On the other hand, my middle and high school experience was a completely different story. Half of the teachers are an utter joke. To this day, my friends and I are convinced that one of our language teachers of three years did not have a college degree. Where the science, math, and language departments are lacking, the English and History departments excel. All in all, the high school is too new to be expecting payments of thousands of dollars in exchange for "high class" education. I could go on about the lack of organization in the administration, but unfortunately, I've run out of space.

CCA is a school with an excellent elementary school program. As you get to the middle school and high school things begin to change. The discipline in the upper school is inconsistent and students are treated based on if the administration likes them or not. The administration is inconsistent in all they do and are known to change their stories when the pressure is put on them. All in all after 5th grade you should transfer your student to a different school.

As an alumni who attended the preschool, elementary school, middle school, AND high school I can say that my final thoughts of the school are horrible and upsetting. I felt as if the administration were bully's and very intimidating. I never looked forward to going to school when I was in high school. I felt as if I was mistreated and abused. There was severe favoritism and very un-christlike administration. Punishments were handed out randomly and there was no set guideline of how a situation would be handled. Overall, this place is no place for a person who is looking to be in a safe environment when learning.

I had my both of my children at this school. Note : it is nothing close to an academy by any means. In fact, public school offers a better curriculum and more qualified teachers. The administration is an illusion. They have a principal. Much like the queen of England, only there as a figure head to maintain accreditation. They use a man as the overall administrator who was originally put in place to correct their financial disasters. This place has gone to "heck" in a hand basket over the last 4 years. What ashame.

When I went to this this school I felt like the teachers didnt even know what they were teaching. It was like they went to NOVA, and they gave out punishment for no good reason. The teachers wouldn't be completely fair and they would have favorites in the class. The administration was not very nice either. They would let some students get off with a warning and other students would get suspension. It was completely unfair to students. There was no part of school that I looked forward to.

This is one of the best schools I have ever seen! With a background in education myself, I have been very pleased with everything my children have learned at the school. The curriculum is very thorough. The teachers have been wonderful, not only to my two children that are enrolled but also at making an effort to speak to my toddler every time we go to the school. I was amazed at how well the teachers and principal knew my children after only a few weeks at the school! As long as we live in this area, we will definitely be sending all of our children to Christ Chapel Academy!
