I have either been a student or alum at Trinity since the early 2010s so I have seen it evolve in a variety of ways.
If you fit a certain mold then this school is perfect for you! However, if you deviate outside of a cookie-cutter, white picket fence, rule-following-republican, holy-as-thou persona then good luck to you!

Teachers: Cannot speak on the current lower school experience as I have not associated with them recently. Upper school teachers were either amazing or terrible! When I went there the English department and history were pretty good. Science department could have had more variety in the biology areas (Like AP bio) but overall held its own. Math department was where you really sank or swam depending on the teacher and if they actually went to school for math or had a math education degree.

Administration: Inconsistent. If you didn't fit their perfect student image you were punished more for an action. If your parent worked there or the staff liked you, you were punished less for that same action. New principles would not uphold standards or be more harsh than other principles. I know that when new people are in control, things can change but there was blatent favortism at times.

Students: The students/peers I keep in touch with from Trinity are few and far between. A lot of students were very judgmental, made racist, homophobic, and mean comments about students and teachers. Also being loaded down with homework or the far commute for a lot of students made for lonely nights and weekends. A lot of my middle and highschool friends I made from outside activities or in college

This is just a few facets of Trinity and I honestly, I feel like I could write a book about my time there but the big take away is you either fit their narrow expectations or you do not. Because of my personal convictions, personality, relationships and the type of people I want to surround myself with, Trinity was not a fit for me. The impact has been profound. I still struggle with confidence and core identity in part due to the person that Trinity was trying to force me to become. Yes, I excelled in college, yes I can write a pretty, mean essay, yes I have a concrete understanding of science. But I can't figure out what I'm missing from algebra II and worst of all, I struggle with my faith because my idea of God is rules and regulations rather than love and mercy extended everyone- not just the predestined perfect Trinity few.

As a teacher in public FCPS now Trinity I would not advise this school for all students. The administration is weak minded. The parents rule. Teachers are the enemy. Unfortunately this school does not show mercy grace or one mindedness. Not a good school choice however if youre all about the $$ this svhool is for you.

As an alum from over a decade ago, I strongly urge parents who care about real learning to avoid this school. The K12 education here is alarmingly weak - especially for the high tuition. In elementary school, I was bored and underchallenged. I re-read books I had already finished at my previous school, and our spelling workbooks had us mindlessly copy words twice. There was no purpose, no growth, just wasted time. Meanwhile, math instruction was painfully slow. Elementary years are crucial for building a strong foundation in math and science, yet this school squandered that opportunity.

If you want a deeper understanding of the schools culture, read Kevin Rooses The Unlikely Disciple. TCS has historically funneled students into Liberty University, and while graduates now attend a wider range of colleges, many are still unprepared when they get there. I saw classmates struggle to keep up with peers from Fairfax County Public Schools (who outperform global averages in standardized testing).

In middle school, I was assigned to write about creationism vs. evolution - yet the school treated evolution like an optional opinion, not science. How does that prepare students for the real world? There was also no sex education, just abstinence-only lessons. These are essential life topics, and ignoring them doesnt protect kids... it leaves them vulnerable.

Most teachers were unqualified or misaligned with effective teaching standards. The only exceptions were the AP U.S. History and AP Government teachers, who were experienced, sharp, and deeply knowledgeable (For them.. and they are not currently there anymore, I give two stars.)

If youre investing in your childs future and value rigorous academics, critical thinking, and real-world preparation, this school is absolutely a poor choice.

I recently graduated from Trinity, and if you're a parent hesitant about sending your kids here just do it. The admin genuinely care about and love every student they get to meet and will actively try to help your child whenever they have the chance. The new head of school Dr. Thomas is the most genuinely kind and careful person i have met and cares so so much about the culture of his school. He regularly takes time out of his day to talk to students and would meet with us on a regular basis to learn how he could improve the school culture. In addition, the teachers. Now it is a high school and students will find a problem with almost anything if they try hard enough. But the teachers at Trinity actively pursue and guide students to success. The small classes make it nearly impossible for a student to slip into the cracks and disappear in a class because the teachers will push them through. This school is genuinely a christian school and the culture obviously is not perfect but the faculty staff and student leaders do a phenomenal job cultivating the faith journey of the student regardless of their current faith level. On top of that, school events and athletics here are seriously second to none, we win state championships and go crazy hard at homecoming and prom. legitimately my only regret about Trinity was starting in 9th grade and not earlier.

While I would not recommend this school, I can appreciate my child received a great academic and Biblical education. The teachers are phenomenal; the administration is not great. My student started attending TCS in high school, never felt accepted by classmates and had a horrible experience with sports. The house system has potential to be really great, but the administrator in charge of the house system will not allow the student leaders to actually lead, nor is he a good example in teaching them how to lead. The majority of the students seem to be entitled and will be likely be ill prepared for college because they have no idea how the world works outside of the bubble in which they live. The dress code is strict, but completely unenforced by the administration. (Ironically, children of the employees seem to be the worst offenders.) Most rules are completely unenforced and it feels like influence in this school can be easily bought. This school could be really great, but the culture feels very elite. In spite of the great education my child received, I'm not sure it was worth the toll it took on their mental health. There are better private Christian schools in the area.

It is an amazing school! It has an amazing education with teachers that know what to do! The teachers are very warm hearted and kind! And their safety is amazing also! When you walk in you feel welcome into the school! :)

Trinity has been a blessing to my family. The teachers and staff truly love and support the students. Students receive an excellent education at TCS, but, more importantly, they learn the love and forgiveness of Jesus. I highly recommend Trinity Christian School.

From the moment we first drove on campus, we felt the presence of our Lord. Trinity provides a well balanced Christian education and fully prepared their students for college. The teachers and administrators want the best for each student in many different aspects. Trinity is not only a school it is a family where everyone is cared for and educated in the path that they need to be lead down. Our family appreciates each wonderful aspect of this incredible institution.

Both of my children attended Trinity and the decision to send them there was the single best decision my husband and I EVER made in raising them. They had Godly teachers, wonderful friends and were so well prepared to attend VT after graduation. They fully understand why they believe what they believe and are able to articulate their faith in an intelligent and winsome manner Its a tremendous school and the few bad reviews are perplexing to me!

My child began in person high school August 2020 in the middle of the pandemic coming from a very small Christian middle school. Compared to our middle school experience, TCS at first seem unwelcoming, with masks, lunch in the classroom and children already in friend groups from lower/middle school. Even participating in a fall JV team there was an already established starting group and the new kids (at least my child felt) were not welcomed. However, winter sport proved far more welcoming, fantastic coach, team building and in time, my outgoing child was able to meet many more students through sport and in the classroom. My child is now really enjoying the HS experience at TCS. The freshman teachers are enthusiastic, engaging and have provided plenty of challenge but also extra assistance if needed. My child has a learning plan and the teachers remember to allow extra time for tests. It's been a blessing to have a challenging in person education and extra curriculars throughout the pandemic.

The experience overall was not good. There was an appearance of favor by the leadership toward other students over my children, not entirely sure why, possibly because of people-pleasing or these students families were more involved in the school and/or contributed more money. I believe the leadership needs to grow in their screening process of accepting students and families. There needs to be more accountability and demonstration of the fruit of the spirit by everyone, not just the staff. There were multiple occasions where my children felt judged and not worthy to be at the school. No child should feel that way, especially in a Christian school. My children did not feel loved.

Our daughter graduated from Trinity this week and it was a very good experience. The faculty and staff helped her grow into a strong young woman who is ready for college and beyond. In particular, the college advising staff is excellent and made the college admissions process and fairly low stress for the students and families. Trinity isnt for everyone but please consider it as an option if you are looking for a school that emphasizes character development and strong academics.

wonderful experience. while I was there I had a great relationship with teachers especially because they wanted to know me personally and not just as a student whom they only saw twice a week; they really cared for me. Definitely prepares you for college; high school is hard but it is worth it!

TCS has a Learning Center where students have access to professional assistance to help them overcome academic struggles and cognitive deficits; and for others, access to support in helping them overcome difficulties with their executive functioning skills.

Teachers are prepared in identifying and addressing bullying in all grades and are always approachable by both students and parents. This issue is also addressed during chapel and parent forums, which provide families with important tools in online avoiding and handling online bullying.

Trinity has been one of the greatest blessings of our lives. Our children are under the care and instruction of true followers of Christ 7 or more hours a day, learning in a safe, nonjudgmental, Christ-centered, College preparatory school.

Every year, the teachers and administration work to make changes to hw policies based on parent and student feedback. They have been receptive to, and even changed practices that added burdensome workloads and unnecessary busywork.

Every teacher at TCS genuinely loves, prays for and pours into every student. Regardless of grade, they take the time to reach out to students, and then parents if necessary, when they see them struggling. They do all they can to help students succeed.

We attended the rising kindergartener orientation this morning & were very impressed with the campus, the rigor of the adademic curriculum and the values instilled in the students through the practical application of Christianity in all that they do. HOWEVER, upon conclusion of the seminar, I approached the Proctor to inquire about the various Christian churches represented at the school (touting their students come from 144 churches in the area). I informed that TCS Representative that I was of the LDS (Mormon) faith & wanted to know to what extent this Church was represented in their Christian system; I was quickly shut down and dismissed. I was told that we were not the kind of Christian the school is looking for, that they would be unable to accept our family & that they were sorry for "wasting our time" by taking us on a tour. I was stunned. I teared up and tried to explain how similar our beliefs actually are but was once again stonewalled by being told that" it's equated to TCS telling me that a wall is white" & me "insisting that the same wall is blue". Unbelievable. I can hardly believe that the Christian values of faith, grace, forgiveness and individuality in Christ's eyes are something they stand behind when they are so quick to treat any other variant of Christianity that is not strict Protestant in this manner. Very disappointing.
