If ur a parent don't let ur kid go to this school there's drugs going around the school and fights happen like everyday all the kids there are fake, there's a few people that aren't but most are. The teachers aren't good at teaching except for like five teachers, and will give u attitude and will likely give u iss and a referral for nothing, most of the kids get F's and don't want to learn and for a good reason. Don't let ur kid go here if u want them to have a good education

I was hesitant to place my child in this school due to ratings, test scores and reviews that included people in HOA telling us not to do it.
Well im here to tell you i am glad i did. My child is getting all A's and is very happy here, happier than she was in a very high ranking school in virginia beach.
Registration was a bit rocky but the principal, superintendent and staff at this school are amazing! I would say take "ratings" as a grain of salt.

I registered my son a month ago. I go Tuesday for orientation and they have no record of him. I called Wednesday he still wasn't registered. I was told if I dont hear anything by today to call back on Monday. So I dont even know when my soon will start school.
You've had a month to put him in the computer.
Mind blowing!!

Terrible I hate this school, they are so bad at teaching and they dont understand how to handle anyone.

Frequent staff turnover and many temp teachers.
Posted: April 2, 2018
Constant fighting and turmoil with the students
Posted: April 2, 2018
They don't want to hear feedback and the former principal would become aggressive if you expressed any concerns
Posted: April 2, 2018
I don't have an opinion on this

This school was a terrible experience for me and my child. I pulled her from the school and opted for private education
Posted: April 2, 2018
It is hit or miss with homework so it's hard for students to prepare.

Administration is weak and will do whatever we want them to do. All I have to do is tell my dad to send an email. We can turn in our work whenever we want throughout the year. 50% is the lowest grade we can get even if we don't do the work at all. I am 8th grade and I haven't read one book. So easy.

I am a parent and have two students who attend CMS. I have found my experience with the teachers and administrators to be positive. Teachers communicate with me and the prp principal has an open door policy. I have volunteered often and Ms. Wright is always visible in theinc school. My students are happy and feel safe at CMS

CMS has helped my daughter transitioned nicely to middle school. She is able to take part in the ACE progam for gifted students and teach her at her level of learning. I have also had great interactions with the teachers, staff, and principal. The principal also had monthly parent coffees and attends the PTA meetings, sporting and band events. She is very involved in helping the child become well-rounded. The six grade administrator has been very helpful with my duaghter, as well as the counselor. GO EAGLES!

Caroline Middle School is a disciplinary disaster. The principal is ineffectual and does not seem interested in interacting with parents. There are some truly excellent teachers, but many do not stay very long for a variety of reasons, possibly including the lowest pay scale in the area. Safety is a real concern, as fights are frequently unreported and consequences for behavioral problems are a joke. Our children will no longer attend Caroline County public schools.

I pulled my kids out of the whole Caroline County school system. Was unaware when I moved in, how bad the schools really are. If in Lewis & Clark, the school is new and there is some involvement where you feel the teachers want to teach. Not great but not awful. Then, the middle school. There is not enough room to tell you how bad it is. Through two different principals, it is awful. Had each of my children do 6th grade (their choice not mine) before I pulled them out for 7th to attend school in Spotsylvania County. The high school is just as bad - if not worse - and that is just by reputation. The middle school principal told me to let my child 'coast' when I questioned math classes where the kids just sat and chatted with the teacher (who wants to be friends on facebook??). Drugs? Yes but 'only marijuana' according to the principal. Gangs? No - because 'real' gangs wear colors. These are just kids that like to 'hang' together and if they get in fights, they are reprimanded. Wow. Yep. Direct words from school administrators. And all the schools in the county are bad because if they find a teacher/admin who does something wrong, all they do is shift them to another school.
