I wouldnt recommend this school to anyone. Most of the staff are very rude and sometimes favor certain students. The special education system is terrible and does not even bother to meet students needs. In all classrooms, they just hand you an iPad and expect you to figure things out yourself.
The staff speak very poorly of some students, as Ive overheard them doing, and when I tried to report it, they dismissed my concerns as nonsense. The counselor is very rude as well; none of the other students bother speaking to her because of her attitude. Please save your time and have your child transferred to Westmoreland High School, as I wish I could be there, but CBHS says I cannot transfer.
Im grateful this is my last year at this school and that Im finally leaving. They are also trying to place me in a college I have rejected thousands of times.

I graduated last year from this school and I can say it left much to be desired. They're understaffed nearly every year, the students aren't engaged and the educational standards are often not satisfied. The teachers are good people but they don't receive enough support and the school itself is tragically underfunded. There are very few clubs and activities, and many of them don't have enough participants to be competitive. Overall, the school is small, underfunded, and doesn't have the means to cater to students individually, leaving some floundering from a lack of support and others bored and unmotivated from a lack of challenge.

I don't recommend this school as they do not know how to follow a 504 plan and Dr.Jason Sears has made the school go down in quality in less than a year of him being there.

Please come visit us and make an appointment to meet with the principal or school counselor. We are always willing to meet parents and community members who want to learn about our school system as well as help us find ways to continually improve.

This school is way behind in academics. My children transferred from another school where they was in classes needed to graduate and got put in classes that aren't needed instead of put in classes that are needed because they don't have enough space to add anymore children in the main classes due to having limited teachers for each main subject. If you want your children to succeed and not be behind, I seriously do not recommend this school.

This Town has it all, and we just love it. The kids have so much to enjoy, and everyone is so friendly. It is great to take our dog for a walk together, and go to the games. The schools love their sports and outdoors, and the teachers are great folks and friends.

Colonial Beach High School has slowly tarnished year after year. Although the school has very many qualities it lacks in many ways. The new principal is horrid and doesn't have the school in control. Behavior problems are outstanding and the punishments are, as usual, lacking. The sports teams used to be what carried the school but with the threat of no longer having athletics the students have become apathetic of their school work and test scores. Honestly, I don't blame them. The community doesn't want the school here any longer so why should they care? The school board is corrupt and needs some serious reevaluating. Along with most of the superiors of the school. I wouldn't recommend this school to any student or parent. The system needs to be rebuilt from the ground up if they want to progress.
