If there is an option for ZERO STARS thats my rating. i am Very disappointed with our experience at this school. There were ongoing bullying issues that did not seem to be taken seriously, and concerns from parents were ALWAYS ignored. I also felt that some staff members treated students unfairly and unprofessionally, which made the environment feel unwelcoming and unequal for certain families. My kid did not feel properly supported during his time there. Good thing we left this school they dont even teach well. I would rate it ZERO IN ACADEMICS your kids wont learn much from this school

Ive had nothing but bad experiences since the school year started. Many staff members lack respect, accountability, and boundaries. During morning drop-off, I repeatedly asked a teacher (dressed as Daphne) not to pull on my car door. After asking five times, she yelled OMG OKAY, and later told another teacher in front of me that I yelled at her, which was completely untrue and unprofessional.
Ive also dealt with teachers who dont take my childs education seriously, canceling meetings without rescheduling as if they hope Ill forget. The lack of communication and respect here is extremely disappointing. Parents deserve professionalism and honesty from school staff.

Poor Management & Disrespectful Attitude
Parkside Elementary failed to send my transportation request to the district, so my kids still have no buswhile my neighbor 100 feet away has one. When I went to the office to address it, my 18-month-old cried and the staff told me to leave instead of showing understanding. Weak management and zero respect for parents.

The kids teach us what they learned about anti bullying at school. Glad it is reenfiorced at school. Its not just lip service!!

We have had all of our 3 kids attend Parkside. I couldnt be happier with the development and growth of our childrens learning! Its not just about test scores, but how the child learns. Park side gets that and actively encourages parents to be involved! The PTA is amazing, great group of parents that lead and participate. Mix in great teachers, great leadership at the school, active PTA and involved parents, its a recipe for success!

Balanced home work. Courses are appropriate. Sometimes I am challenged with their course work. I have to dust the cobwebs off my learning.
Posted: October 3, 2017
The teachers are involved and write if there are concerns and communicate! Its more than a job for the teachers at park side, they really care! Very impressed.

My kids are tought to respect other kids, but are allowed to express their individuality. Park side also addresses problems quickly instead of letting things fester!

We experienced a bad teach at park side and certainly more than on family expressed that opinion. The teacher wasnt effective and the school heard the parents! That bad educator is no longer at Parkside. Way to go Parkside, doing the right thing for our childrens education!

My son started off in their assisted learning. We felt our son had grown out of the learning difficulties and the school listened. We were right and the school listened! What more can you ask for from a school!

We have spent years at the school, having had three children go all the way through the school and could not have had a better experience for them. From the principal down... each member of his staff are absolutely phenomenal. These people care about your children. They know every single child in school by name and greet them as such. We had a phenomenal experience there and wouldn't trade it for the world!

My children have been going to Parkside Elementary since September 2012. I am so glad my kids go to Parkside! The school is clean and well organized and the teachers and stuff are wonderful! We have moved to this area before the children were even born, but I think it is very fortunate we are in this school dostrict. I heard people have been moving to this area because of this school which I totally understand. This is the best elementary school in town! I visit the school from time to time and I can see that the teachers are motivated and the students are well behaved. The admin stuff is the office is really great. Very friendly and very nice. The newsletter we received from the school talk about what's going on at the school as well as the school's upcoming schedule/events etc. The recent SOL scores of the students at Parkside Elementary is very impressive. I would think those students academic performance will increase the score of the high schools they will be attending in the next 2-5 years as long as they keep working on their academics.

Kids were taught, and respected and encouraged.
Staff set the example. Email responses were timely. Asking questions in the front office was always great. There is a brightness to the school.

Super School, very good top to bottom. Great SOL scores, and kids are well behaved. School is clean and no maintenance issues. Its close to YMCA and Patriot Park, Southpoint, Hospital, Kids work hard play hard. Staff is really great. Helpful, flexible, professional, responsive.

Teachers are supported by the leadership. And helped to solve problems. The school has a great feel to it. Its busy, but nothing seems out of place or missing there. Great energy.

Homework was given with clear direction most of the time. HW is always a tough topic, how much is correct. But Parkside gave the right amount.

There are some terrific teachers at Parkside. The staff are all very professional including the office , nurse, and guidance. I recommend Parkside over other local schools.

We moved to our neighborhood from out of state based on the reviews Parkside Elementary received. We have not been let down! This is a wonderful school. We have one child in 1st grade and one in Kindergarten. They love school, enjoy learning and form a close connection to their teachers. I volunteer quite a bit during the year in their classes so I see what goes on day to day and Parkside has exceeded my high expectations! The staff really does care and it shows. The amount of learning that takes place at such a young age is amazing to me. The teachers use current technology in the rooms and the kids take to it enthusiastically. The Principal and Asst. Principal are wonderful and very engaged in the day to day activities of the students. I would never consider moving now so my kids can stay in this school

I am very impressed with Parkside. This is our son's second year, the teachers are excellent and the principal truly cares. Some days I can't believe the complex lessons they complete at such an early age. My son in Kindergarten started work on bar graphs, addition and substraction, and rationalization/comprehension type skills. But I would rather have my children pushed academically then just attend one big day care. If our nation's education system is turning it around, it must be starting at Parkside. I also agree with the parent that posted on June 8, 2011... Parkside has zero tolerance for bullying and it is enforced! It's to bad Parkside only goes to 5th grade! One last thing though, I the parents are involved, care, and want their children to succeed. Parkside plus involved parents equal our children's success! Thank you Parkside for caring about my son's and soon to be daughter's education!

My son will be starting 2nd grade next Fall and I love this school and the staff. It is a newer school which is nice, but aside from the structure the staff is top notch. No school is without flaws but the Principals are always available to the parents and the teachers are fantastic. The kids are always happy when you see them and that says alot for me. They have a no tolerance for bullying policy and it is strongly enforced.

Parkside is a great school. Both of our children attend Parkside and they both love the teachers, staff and administration, as well as the Principal and Vice Principal. Thank you for making this school so great! We love you guys! Keep up the great work.

The teachers at Parkside truly care about our childrens education. I feel comfortable with the way my son is being tought and treated at Parkside. The quality of work and teachers is the best!

Parkside indeed is a really good school, with caring teachers for the most part, and great staff & PTA. The principal has been accessible and come through whenever issues arose that required his attention. Both my children attended Parkside, and while my son has gone on to middle school now, he once was assigned to an ineffective teacher for homeroom. My son has always been a high achiever and an honor roll student, and where once he was excited to go to school and eager to learn, he no longer was and dreaded school. This teacher seemed bored and moody about teaching and let the kids teach themselves for the most part while she sat at her desk and stayed on her computer 85% of the time. Once brought to his attention, Mr. Eichenberg took care of it. This a school who takes care to address issues effectively.

This school offers music and art not many schools have that anymore and they actually teach. They have high testing schools and help the students prepare for the test. The teachers and staff are amazing. Principal really cares about the school and so does the PTA.
