We have overall been happy with Chesterbrook Kingstowne. There have been some hurdles - staff turnover seems to be an issue for a while and then becomes more consistent. The teachers genuinely care about the children in their care, and Admin tries very hard to keep afloat. Some days it seems like the Admin staff is in classrooms more than they are at their own jobs which is frustrating because then other things get delayed, but it is clear that the safety of the children come first. The school cook, Ms. Selena, is incredible and one of the kindest people you will meet. She loves the children so much and goes out of her way to know every student (outside of just knowing their dietary restrictions!).

We have been enrolled at the school for a couple of years, and every day, our child comes home with stories of the fun activities they did and happy. Communication with teachers is best when you interact with them one-on-one at drop off or pickup, and most are eager to work with you on any concerns you have.

Tuition is on the higher side than one some of the other area schools charge and the annual increases are not insignificant. Staff turnover each year tends to be a problem for a few weeks but this is also an industry problem overall that we've heard about from friends at other schools.

The hours of the school are the best of the schools we toured (6:30am - 6:30pm) and gives a lot of flexibility for working parents.

Yes, there have been moments when we have been frustrated enough to consider leaving Chesterbrook, but we have also shared those concerns with the school leadership and found them to be receptive to concerns. It's a hard industry with slim margins and I think overall the staff at Chesterbrook is always trying to do their best. It's easy to criticize from the outside, but my child loves their teachers and feels happy, safe, and well cared for, and that's really what matters to me.

Both my children attended this school from Jan 2009 to July 2010. During that time, the director changed 5 times. I never knew if the lead teacher was going to be present during the day. At pick up, I was greeted by a different person almost every day. Very high staff turnover. Not to mention the violations they received from the state on a regular basis. Physical punishment, misplaced emergency medication (epipen) and forgetting kids outside. Way over priced for the lack of care/service!
