My 2 year old has developed her verbal skills so much since starting preschool here. They balance structure and play very well. She loves her teachers and is in a great mood when I pick her up. The fact that they have degreed teachers is a plus, the assitants though are usually young girls, are very attentive and professional. Though a bit more expensive than other nearby schools, you definitely get what you pay for.

We looked and looked for a preschool for our three year old without much luck. Thank goodness we found Kiddie Country. The school is amazing. It's bright, clean, inviting and everyone was so warm. After touring and reviewing their curriculum (which was impressive) we enrolled our daughter. She, and we, have never been happier. Our little girl has been there for two years now and absolutely loves school! We're so thrilled about how much she's learned and grown during her time at Kiddie Country.

The teachers are DEGREED teachers. It's very hard to find a quality preschool with actual, qualified, degreed teachers. Kiddie Country's teachers are amazing and their program is phenomenal.

The teachers at Kiddie Country are very good and a required to have four year degrees. There are also a lot of assistants and helpers to aid the teacher. However, the afternoon staff is inconsistent in their care giving. Some are very attentive and others seem less engaged. Also, the communication between the afternoon staff and morning staff is bad. They don't seem to know much about what happened earlier in the day. The school could improve the communication between the two groups. Also, school should post their menu online and newsletters as well. Overall, we have been happy with the school.

I very much wanted to share that I was a little nervous when my two year old started preschool at Kiddie Country in September, but I have had nothing but a positive experience. My daughter even asks to go on the weekends and when we ride by the school, she says, "That's my school." The school's Open House in September was wonderful and we're looking forward to the Holiday Open House next week. A really good school with a great staff.

I am a parent with a child at Kiddie Country and I cannot say enough about the school, staff, and program. Even the Governor of VA selected the school for the signing of an important Bill this year. All I can say is that I am more than pleased with the school and I'm glad for the high recommendations from other Kiddie Country parents that lead me to investigate the school for my child. Our family couldn't be happier.

My son was there as a 3 year old and was miserable. I trusted the teachers that it could take over a month for him to adjust so he was miserable for almost 5 weeks. I never saw any of the children smile & it felt like a little army (they seemed to always be lined up against a wall when I came in). I saw a child being scolded for crying & when I wanted my son to hold a certain toy (because I knew it would make him feel better) I was told he could not because that was not the assigned group of toys to be played with that day. It wasn't until my husband saw a video where my son was sitting in a corner the entire time without the teachers engaging him that we realized the problem was not with our son but rather the teachers/school. He was smiling & giggling when I picked him up from the school with switched him too, starting the first day. Do not send your child to this school unless you want a miserable child.

In accidently discovering this site, I decided to check out my child s school and was astonished at the remarks from a parent on December the 8th. We have had nothing but a top quality experience at Kiddie Country. All the staff have been wonderful to not only my child but to us as well. The teachers are all degreed and the ratios are fantastic. It is well run, clean, and in fact exceptional in everyway. I just don t get what this parent is saying. I wonder if they accidently posted about another school rather than Kiddie Country?

THE BEST PRESCHOOL. I can't say enough good things about Kiddie Country. It is an amazing school with an amazing program. My kids LOVE IT and can't wait to go each morning. We are so thankful to Kiddie Country for their obvious dedication to children and the community.

Horrible School!!! If you love your children do not send them here. My child hated this school and now loves his new school, he insisted his sisters don't attend this school ad attend his new school.

Nasty School! Absolutely the worst!! Kids are watched over by teenagers who are more interested in talking to each other then what is going on with kids. The worst is the administrator. My child got badly hurt at this school and no one at the school knows what happened!

Our experience at Kiddie Country has been exceptional. We have had several children who have gone through the school and we couldn t be more pleased. We just attended the annual Spring Program and it was fantastic. We are still amazed every time we see the preschoolers get up and perform on stage. It was a fun event and the music director included the entire audience. Nice school, degreed teachers, and very organized.

We have a special needs child who attends Kiddie Country and the administration, staff, and school nurse have been wonderful in helping us obtain additional services which has been paramount in her success. She now attends part-time and the rest of the day, she attends a class-based program. We will be forever grateful

These websites are ridiculous. Any smart parent would not choose a school for the most important person in their lives by reading the rantings on these sites. They would visit schools, ask parents in their community their experiences and make their own well informed decision. Websites like "great schools" aren't in the business of helping parents find excellent settings for their children - they're in the business of revenue.

Teenage teachers that don't care or even watch over the kids. My child got badly bitten at this school by a bully. he had a gruesome bite mark and the teachers didn't hear or see anything! Lousy school.

The website reads "Welcome to a nurturing environment where opportunities are endless and success is a natural consequence." What a joke! As long as your child doesn't have an illness, disability, allergy or special need of any kind or magnitude. If that is the case, there is no opportunity or nurturing at all. With respect to camp, the staff at this center turned their backs in an instant after six years of attendance! Is this even legal in this day and age of a state licensed school? Shame of you. What a disgrace!

I share the same concern about the staff. When I drop off and pick up, the teachers are sitting in their rocking chairs or their table. I rarely see them actually playing with them. On the playground, they are standing around talking to eachother. The younger staff have been there for a while, and some are more engaged than the teachers at times. I think it depends on when you catch them, but inconsistent for sure. Now that the school year has started, it's a little more structured. Over the Summer, my kids were bored and often said they didn't want to go. Last year, they loved it. Certified and degreed is great on paper, but if the staff isn't all in, then it doesn't add much of a benefit. The kindergarten class does have an varied and fun thematic plan, but as a previous poster noted, I too, would like to see more of a focus on reading and writing. We are considering moving schools in the Spring. We were very pleased with the school the past 2 years, but have to agree it doesn't feel like the same school.

I don t usually write on these types of sites, but a friend told me about two of the previous postings which seem very similar in content, and as a parent who has had several children at Kiddie Country, I have to say, I don t know what these people are talking about. None of the afternoon staff are teenagers as far as I know. They are adults or students in college and are experienced. The morning teachers are all degreed, professional, and have had multiple years working with children. I recently had a child graduate from KC s kindergarten program and we felt that that the teachers who are state certified, where top notch as was the program. I m at a loss about these postings. I wonder if these people (or person) were disgruntled for other reasons that perhaps have less to do with the quality of the school and more to do with a personal pique. Anyway, I remain highly pleased with Kiddie Country.

This is the best school you'll ever find in Northern Virginia. I've had my son at Kiddie Country for a year and he's now moving into the three year old class for his second school year. We are so pleased with his progress this past year and feel that he is in the absolute best place we could send him. My husband and I could not be happier and recommend Kiddie Country without hesitation.

Kiddie Country is the best! My children LOVE this school and so do I. I had enrolled them part-time at first, worried that they would miss me because they'd never been with anyone but me. But they were so bored at home and kept asking to go to school so we put them in full-time. If your kids are asking you to send them to school then you know you've found a winner! We've even have one of the afternoon girls babysit for us occassionally on the weekend; she's so great. I can't say enough good things about this school.

Some teachers are emotionally detached and should seek another profession; many of the teenager p.m. staff are poorly trained and indifferent to children; the school prides itself on its "active, pursuit of positive family-school partnerships," but it does absolutely nothing to create/maintain them; the music program however is quite good. Kiddie Country is not worth the high price, which rises without fail every year. Recommendation: Send your little ones elsewhere; if they are rising kindergarteners, send them to full-time kindergarten in Fairfax County public schools.

I have had two children at Kiddie Country I and now a grandson at KC II. It is no surprise to me that KC II was namedby Northern Virginia magazine as one of Northern Virginia's top centers. The teaching staff are degreed, KC II has a registered nurse, a music director, and the whole atmosphere of the school is warm and welcoming. My children and now my grandson have all had exceptional preschool and kindergarten experiences at these schools and a "well done" is definitely in order.

My daughter had a great experience when she started Kiddie Country at 2.5 years old, however her experience when she moved to the 3 year class was dramatically different. She was very active and did not nap. The experienced teacher seemed to be very lost and indifferent as to how to manage her. After many phone calls we decided to withdraw and find another place that could better deal with the behaviors of a 3-year old. I thought that with as many experienced administrators and teachers at the school, they would be better at handling a child better than they did. My child was not displaying behaviors that were not typical of a child.

A really bad school! Overpaying for teenagers to look after your kids. They are behind money only, but no improved teaching methods.They preach lots on parent teacher relationship. But for the last 3 years, there was no parent teacher interaction. A really bad school, where no body should join

My daughter went to the smaller KC from 3 yo until 5 yo. She loved her preschool experience. When she attended kindergarten at our neighborhood school, I realized how well prepared she was. She was ahead of the K curriculum in school and breezed through kindergarten. I work with her at home and read to her every day but I think KC had a lot to do with her skills as well. They were loving and caring, they did neat activities every day and her favorite was the music class. My son now attends KC and has been here for 2 years. He has blossomed under their care. I would recommend this school to anyone. It is well worth the price and has been a wonderful first school experience for both of my children.

Kiddie Country is a phenomenal school! My child has attended Kiddie Country since he was two years old. The teachers are amazing (and they're all degreed!), the program is incredible and had my son more than ready for first grade! We wouldn't ever consider reccomending any school but Kiddie Country. I have so many friends who have sent their own children here and didn't regret it for one second! I don't normally write "reviews" because they're not typically accurate and tend to be a dumping ground for people with an axe to grind But we, honestly, had such a great experience that I felt like I had to share it.

I attended KC when I was young, so when choosing a center for my daughter, I thought KC would be perfect for her. This is not the same center that I have fond memories of. Our problems began when I started to receive constant reports from the teachers that my daughter was not acting appropriately and had to visit the principal. Like previous posters, the behavior was typical 3YO behavior. Also,afternoon staff members are often on their phones when I walk in. Then I found out that my daughter was eating by herself for weeks because of her behavior. I asked the teachers to please allow her to eat with her peers, but the issue was not resolved. I finally went to the KC manager and the eating alone stopped. The final straw was when I called to arrange a meeting for myself & husband to meet with the director & nurse to discuss a health issue my daughter has and how KC was dealing with this issue. The director told me she would not meet with me, she works 12 hour days, and the issue would have to be dealt with over the phone. My issue was not dealt with over the phone that day and the tone of the director was unsettling. I found another center down the road that is $500 cheaper a month.

HORRIBLE SCHOOL is correct! Oh my god! My daughter had the same experience as the earlier reviewer! My daughter loved her previous school but my husband changed jobs and we changed her to this school. She TOO CRIES when we drive by this school! She begged us to move her out of this school, we thought it was just an adjustment problem. We moved her to a new school and now she very happy. She kisses us for getting her out of this school! We moved here and I looked at greatschools.org and based on the rating I thought this was a good school. Then I realized that the school itself could rate itself anonymously! So the good reviews may be from the school itself!

Horrible School!! My son still cries when I drive by it!! Every time we drive by this school he makes me promise that I will not send any of his sisters to this school! Apparently when the parents are around the teachers are nice and when the parents leave the teachers are nasty and don't pay attention. Just pass by this school playground and you will notice that the teachers are not paying attention. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TRAUMATIZED FOR LIFE!

KIDDIE COUNTRY IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST PRESCHOOL IN VIRGINIA. My child has attended Kiddie Country since he was two years old and now participates in the Elementary Summer Camp. The teaching staff and teaching assistants are highly qualified and obviously well trained. My son recieved a top-notch education in a caring, supportive, and warm environment which has absolutely enabled him to excel in elementary school. We are so very grateful to Kiddie Country for the phenomenal foundation they set for our son and cannot say enough good things about the school, it's staff, and it's programming. What an absolutely amazing place for your preschooler. I would recommend Kiddie Country without hesitation to any parent who wants the best for their child.

Good: facility, playground, baby pool, onsite nurse, and clean. Handful of the morning teachers are phenominal. They truly love what they do and show a lot of enthusiasm. Need improvement: Most of the pm staff are young women and exhibit little interest in the children. Same comment goes to the morning teachers. Some have checked out of the program. Our son is in the summer program and none of the teachers greet him in the morning. Not worth the price. We have another little one and am looking for other options.

I rated this school above average because my son does enjoy it now, but we had a similar problem as the parent of the child who came home calling himself a "bad boy". When my 3 year old started Kiddie Country he too come home and called himself a "bad boy". I was angry because I knew someone at Kiddie Country had called him this name. I addressed the problem head on and talked to his teacher. I did not accuse a staff member but made it clear that someone, either a teacher, caregiver, or another child, had called him a "bad boy". While I was diplomatic, I made it clear I expected this to stop. I do believe that Kiddie Country expects their kids to act a certain way. For a while I received constant reports from the teachers about my child's behavior. In talking to them the behavior they disliked seem to be normal behavior for a high energy, extroverted 3 year old boy. I worked with the teachers because I believed that while this school is not perfect it is the best option for our family.

Our 3 year old son has been in Kiddie Country since March after attending another daycare facility for about a year. We chose Kiddie Country because all the teachers have 4 year degrees and certification. We have not been disappointed and neither has our son. He is still excited about going to his "big-boy school" every day. When I pick him up I've noticed that not just he, but the other children seem to be uniformly happy and enjoying themselves. I'm sure there are exceptions at every school, but I'm doubtful that many have or would occur here.

The Kiddie Country preschool learning program is quite good, and we find all the teachers competent. In addition, the presence of the on-site, full-time nurse is very reassuring, and the school administration personnel is high caliber. However, the quality and specifically conscientiousness of the afternoon staff (i.e., non-teaching caregivers) varies greatly: Some of these mostly young women are excellent caregivers, but several obviously have little empathy for children and expend minimum, or less, effort. The large tree-filled playground, swimming pool, Show & Tell, and one-off events like Petting Zoo and Moon Bounce, delight our child, who is all-in-all happy and developing well at Kiddie Country.
