We had two children attend LGMS for five straight years starting in 2018/19 to 2022/23. Neither of our children experienced any of the negative aspects others have pointed out. Rather, I'd venture to say that both enjoyed their time at the school, as much as any child can enjoy middle school. They were both involved in SCA and one played two different sports. They performed well enough to be accepted into NJHS and into the Blue Ridge Governor's School upon entering OCHS. I will add that we did have some difficulties communicating with some of the teachers, but during our children's time at LGMS, COVID hit making it a tad bit more difficult to communicate with the staff. Did we love every teacher? No. Did we have to stay on top of some teachers? Yes. All schools have this issue, that is why it is important to remain engaged as a parent. Half the battle is being present, the other half is having a plan.

There is a lot of bullying and racism at this school. Think best option is online school since there are no more options in this area

What do you think if they say to a student, "don't worry, with D you pass the grade?"
I'm still waiting for them to call me back. But the school year already over
They do not motivate students to do their best.
The worst part is when does not have the economic resources to look for another house in an area where they provide a better education. To get a better education and school support, you must have a lot of money to buy or rent a house in a good area.

The school does have a problem with bullying but the school can't do anything if the people who are getting bullied don't stand up. The teachers are very nice and strive lead their students to excellence. I am a student from the school year of 2020-2021 and the way that the school is dealing with the virus is exceptional. There are often teacher who help the students keep at least a 3ft distance at all times. Only a certain amount of classes are allowed into the hallway at one time and the students walk in lines while socially distanced.

As a parent, I don't feel the staff provide enough attention to the students. They are just there to do their job without going above and beyond. They also have a higher than usual teacher turnover rate, which to me is a sign that something is wrong administratively.

As a former student of Locust Grove, I will say that Locust Grove is one of the best schools I have ever attended. Excellent teachers and administrators! I even achieved a prefect score on the SOL. Locust Grove has many different electives to offer, and all of the teachers are experienced and know how to teach. The students are very respectful of each other. An excellent school.

i love locust grove!!!! it is awesome and filled with wonderal students and teachers! So far it has been a great year although last year...2012-2013...alot has going on such as a teacher beating other students and one of the male teachers ....arrested!! hopefully, we are back on track. as far as im concerned, this school is very clean and the principal takes alot of pride in her work to keep us students succeeding in great excellence. if you dont have anything nice to say about our school..then dont say anything. keep hating and teachers, keep GRADING!! :) GREAT WORK LGMS"! lets have another great year for 2013-2014!
