This school is made for students with learning differences!!! For my son with learning differences, it was a godsend! Students who are unsuccessful in the general academic setting have multiple opportunities a variety of experiences through which to begin to experience success. Throughout the process, they are supported in developing the skills to be more successful academically and in life. For my son, I believe his return to confidence began with building a doghouse!

From this parent's perspective, one exceptional aspect about this school is that they know how to pick great leaders who just get what the students and staff at Burke really need. When my son began at Burke, they were in transition from one very well respected principal to a new principal.The new principal has carried on the Burke School mission with flying colors these past 3 years. His devotion to and love for the school is evident.

Character, integrity, compassion and respect are taught and reinforced throughout all school activities and are recognized frequently. The staff at Burke role models these same qualities every day in their interactions with students and families and in the family events they hold.

My son had significant problems both attending school and doing school work. He now attends school every day without any prodding, he completes his work, and he is academically successful.

Burke School was nothing less than fantastic! I am so grateful for my son's time there. The supportive and devoted staff helped my son develop the coping strategies and empowered him to thrive and grow academically and emotionally. He began at Burke demoralized from his previous academic experiences and seeing himself very negatively. He is leaving Burke with confidence in his abilities, significant academic growth, and the coping skills to be more successful in a variety of settings. There are many ways for students to experience success and recognition at Burke while learning the skills to be successful academically. The encouragement and positive engagement for my son and our family was invaluable. I can't recommend a school more highly.
