My experience was very good. I am a very involved and supportive parent. I am not the type that will watch my daughter struggle with a concept and not approach one of her teachers or club leaders. I read with her every night and tried to help her diagnose her struggles to boost her comprehension abilities as they suggested; I played math games, and ran the math drills they suggested; we did work sheets, researched, and used the on-line resources provided to her. They made it possible for my daughter to believe in herself, boosting her confidence ten folds. Her SOL scores improved by 99 points at best. She is ready for middle school thanks to the staff and teachers at Ellis. I am forever grateful for their dedication to my daughter's learning. I just wished that other students and parents could've invested as much work into improving like my daughter and I had done.

Study guides and worksheets were very effective in helping my daughter learn concepts. She was given additional worksheets and reading assignments in addition to normal homework because she was above grade level. Her teachers in 4th and 5th grade worked closely with me to ensure that she continued to be challenged and successful.

Her teachers in 4th and 5th grade ( we came to the school her 4th grade year) worked closely with me to ensure that she continued to be challenged and successful. The evaluated her regularly and worked out what was necessary to keep her above grade level. Her reading SOL jumped 99 points from the year before.

My daughter's teachers felt that it was important to prepare the children for real life. This included being responsible for personal learning and development. They were to be honest and kind to others.

The new principle was great. His focus was clearly on the success of the students. There was a no bullying tolerance that was honored.

My daughter was bullied in her previous schools. The no bully tolerance policy was great. Her confidence was boosted and she has had a great year.

My son is about to finish 1st grade in this school, I never had any problem with this School, the staff is very friendly, all the teacher are awesome. Thank you Ellis.

I began my teaching career at Ellis and loved it. I didn't realize how amazing it was until I left, however. The amount of technology and cutting edge teaching practices is amazing at this school. When I moved to my new school in a different county, I felt like I traveled back in time about 5 years. Ellis is really at the forefront of education with a focus on real learning, not just test scores. Students at Ellis are taught to think, not just regurgitate information. Also, the teachers at Ellis go WAY above and beyond that of other schools. I feel like the teachers at my new school are wonderful, however, the amount of teacher participation in after school activities is very strong at Ellis. The creativity and passion of the teachers at Ellis, especially the reading team, has reached out to the community in unique ways to help student achievement.
