I was so worried about my daughter going here. We have always been a private school family and we decided to switch it up on her request. She has gotten so much better academically and made so many new friends. The teachers are trained beautifully and very helpful.

Amazing school. Teacher engagement with students has been fantastic. Teachers are eager to help when students take the iniative to ask. So many opportunities at this school if your child is willing to seek them out.

Very little if any instruction or teacher engagement for the most part. Kids are allowed extensive use of phones and spend quite a bit of time on them (not doing school work) . Extremely poor communication from staff. Unable to to get any assistance or guidance from counselor or office staff.

Despite communicating directly and honestly with the principal and the athletic director for eight weeks in the Fall of 2021 about making improvements to COVID mitigation communication within the school and, most specifically, at indoor volleyball games- little was done. They promised a list of improvements and only one inadequate sign was put on a door. This resulted in a breakthrough infection for our child. Now, our child has learned that direct communication yields no results and leadership does not have their best interest at heart. Leadership sleeps well with it's "low" numbers forgetting that the numbers = people and have ripple effects. Little is being done to address safety and equity at this school.

Excellent experience with both our children at this school. One took AP classes, and one did not. Both were ready for college upon graduation and excelled at each of their respective universities.

While attending Riverbend for the last couple years, I can safely say that they staff is useless. Due to bullying issues, I am leaving Riverbend. The counselors have been literally no help, giving me attitude, beating around the bush, and ignoring all questions i have about an online program. The counselors also gave me attitude for my chosen profession, telling me that I should't be a chef because, and I quote: "it's a waste of my intelligence." I'm sorry, but I don't think that's your decision. The environment is most definitely NOT inclusive. I sit alone at lunch, in all of my classes, and everyone treats me like I'm a freak because I decide not the conform like a mindless sheep. Because of this school, i have severe social anxiety. My depression has worsened, and my grades have dropped from straight A's to straight C's. The teachers decide that the only thing their students should be doing is useless busy work. I hate everything about Riverbend, and I strongly recommend reconsidering allowing your children to attend this school, especially if they don't "fit in."

they did barely did anything about the bullying it was the worst experience for me i had to be hospitalized because of the bullying

If you are searching for a good school to send your kids to, this is not the one. It is the worst school that I've seen in years when it comes to supporting students and communicating with parents. When it comes to their academic counselors, it is better to hire a professional than to consult with them. My daughter asked for a letter of reference from a young male counselor. When she received the letter back it was so poorly written we did not submit it to the university. As far as academics, there is no diversity in their advanced classrooms and the governors schools. Students that are accepted into those "elite" programs look the same. You can do better than Riverbend.

Worst school in Spotsylvania county. I recommended no one go here. The principal Dr. Wright has the worst attitude with parents and some students. There are way better high schools in this county this is not a good school

My daughter has completed nursing school at Radford University, with the foundation that this high school offered she felt well equiped for this college challenge!
