Easternview High School has been an incredibly frustrating experience, especially when it comes to communication. It’s nearly impossible to get in touch with staff members, whether it’s the front office, administration, attendance office, or counselors—no one seems to respond or even acknowledge your concerns. The front office staff has been particularly rude every time I’ve had to call or visit, making what should be a simple conversation unnecessarily difficult and unpleasant. The administration and attendance staff aren’t any better, often dismissive or short with parents and students alike.

On top of that, the counselors rarely respond to emails or calls, leaving students and parents without the guidance and support they desperately need. The coaches at this school are also very unhelpful and disrespectful, making it even harder for student athletes to feel supported or heard. Communication is a huge problem here. The staff seems unhappy and takes their frustrations out on the students, which is really unfair and damaging.

Academically, the school is just as disappointing. When my child transferred here, there were hardly any clubs or extracurricular activities to get involved in. The selection of AP classes is extremely limited compared to other schools, which is a huge disadvantage for students hoping to challenge themselves or prepare for college. Overall, the education quality is just awful, leaving students with little motivation or opportunity to excel.

Easternview High School is honestly the worst academic institution I’ve ever seen in Virginia. The quality of education is shockingly low, with teachers seeming uninterested in actually helping students learn or succeed. The curriculum feels outdated and poorly organized, making it difficult for anyone to keep up or feel motivated. On top of that, the administration is disorganized and unresponsive, they don’t seem to care about students’ concerns or creating a positive environment. Communication is terrible, and issues often go ignored. If you’re looking for a school that actually values academics and student well-being, Easternview is definitely not it.

Great experience the new principal is really trying to bring the school together and spirit back into the school!!!

The faculty in charge of this school are atrocious. They allowed my son to be bullied all of his Freshman year, then after my son had asked them to do something about it they did nothing! On top of that, my son was suspended for two days when he finally stood up for himself while his bullies were given detention for one class period! Completely ignoring that my son shares 3 classes with both of these boys every day. I am appalled by the way they handled this situation. And I am only giving one star to the principal leadership because that is as low as I can give. The current principal at this school is a narciscistic dictator who views the students of the school as little more than building blocks for his own achievement.

As a parent, I m a little concerned about the new, somewhat militaristic principle at the school. They have some really good teachers, but some already had a tendency to forget these were still kids and not robots. It concerns me that there is little recognition of the importance of being a teenager and the main task of discovering who you are. This requires a little bit of freedom to explore and question your environment, not total conformity and blind obedience. There are some really great teachers here and there are some who seem to share in the militaristic view of the principle. However, my preference is for schools that really prepare students for life after high school and that requires allowing students to make changes in and improve their environment. What I would like to see is an administration that works closely with a student counsel to help bridge the gap between students, teachers and administration and improve the entire educational environment.

This scool is GREAT at every thing it dose!!! We have Great sports teams, an Awesome staff and Spirited student's who really set good examples. Not to mention Our Choir and Drama programs are AMAZING!!!! Our Drama programs receaved nothing but Superiors at the VTA confrence this year and our Choir always dose outstanding at festival every year!!!
