As a 7th grader its a very bad school. I have had to deal with kids telling me to kill myself every day and I couldnt deal with it. The school counselors were ok tbh they helped me get medical attention for my mental health but when it came to bullying they did nothing about it. The food is terrible, all the milk I drank there was spoiled and the food was cold and sometimes had mould. I saw how kids there treated special needs kids and it was horrible, they constantly bullied them and the teachers did nothing. Apart from teachers ignoring our basic needs they did teach us well and I got pretty good grades

This is one of the worst schools I have ever experienced for my child. He came out a different person in a bad way. They dont follow through with IEPs, allow kids to come in with drugs/guns, and completely IGNORE the real problems!! It is so sad because this used to be such a good school and now it is trash! Teachers are useless and are in no rush to do their jobs. They wear sweat pants and sweatshirts to work with crazy colored hair. Thats who is influencing your kids! I had to take mine away from this disaster and now I am left picking up the pieces. This place ought to be shut down!

This school is the worst. I do not recommend it. A lot of people die in the school. Teacher sucks. Theres bullies in the school. Its the worst school possible.

It is a good school and most of the teachers are nice, but the dress code is strict and the food is bad. They do have microwaves though so that is nice.

I recently started at Jouett, and I really liked my experience there. They are actually in the top 5% of schools in the nation, I'm not sure why they're 4/10.

My daughter attended JJMS several years ago and my son attends now. It is a large, very diverse school so there are many academic and social opportunities. Ms. Baylor, the principal, runs the school like a watch and recruits the best teachers for the school. For the most part teachers are excellent. As with any school there are a few who aren't as strong, but so far we have been happy. The core subjects are differentiated and there is an accelerated math track enabling students strong in the subject to complete both algebra and geometry prior to entering high school. There are some bullying issues, but the administration does its best to prevent it and responds quickly and appropriately when they are made aware of any issues.

Ms. Baylor is an excellent and effective principal. She recruits great assistant principals, though they tend to be promoted to principal positions after a few years. The guidance department is also very good.

Ms. Baylor recruits and retains the best teachers. They communicate well with students and parents and they seem to truly care.

Homework is primarily used to reinforce learning in school. There is not an excessive amount.
