The Goddard School - Woodbridge

My son has attended the Goddard School since he was 13 weeks old and the staff, parents and classmates or “friends” as we call them, are like family to us now. Many of my son’s friends and teachers have been there since we started 5 years ago. I remember being impressed that they had several sensory activities for the infants scheduled throughout the day, and the preschool and pre-k curriculum is creative and structured very similar to kindergarten. My son’s kindergarten teacher expressed in our parent teacher conference that she was extremely impressed with how “Kindergarten Ready” he is. In fact, he is already working on 1st grade materials because Goddard prepared him so well! His first quarter test scores were in the highest percentiles, and I can’t thank the Goddard staff enough for always making education creative and inviting. While we have loved and cherished all of the staff at Goddard, past and present, I must specifically thank Ms. Jasmine, Ms. Kristin, Ms. Araceli, Ms. Dede, Ms. Mariah in addition to all of his former teachers for helping my son navigate the first 5 years of his life, and gain the skills to be a gentleman and an avid learner. I also want to thank the Director Ms. Catherine for always taking the time to share feedback, observations, and kudos. Your attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile is very much appreciated. Lastly, I want to thank the Owner Ms. Nazlin for giving the staff the tools to cultivate such a robust, responsive program, and a family-oriented culture at the Goddard School.

This school’s management is awful they don’t support their staff and provide them the tools they need to be successful in the classrooms. They don’t supply necessary supplies such as gloves to change diapers or plates spoons etc. so teachers have to change children without gloves which is a health issue. There is broken gates on the playgrounds that don’t close that they won’t fix which is a safety issue and they don’t listen to parents concerns. Worst preschool center ever. Teachers never get off on time and are often asked to forego their lunch breaks due to lack of coverage in the classrooms. Worst management and worst preschool ever. Teachers shouldn’t be threatened their jobs who only have the children’s best interests and their parents best inerests at heart. Ridiculous.

The Goddard School was my family's very first experience with an early childhood education program. We were beyond pleased with this experience and we were saddened to leave such a wonderful school (we moved, otherwise we would definitely still be attending). The teachers are warm, welcoming, professional educators. They certainly made us feel comfortable knowing our son was safe in their care. Every staff member took the time to get to know our son and our entire family. They made us feel welcome each and every day, greeting us with warm and welcoming smiles. It has been an absolute joy watching our son learn and grow at the Goddard School. He made new friendships, learned classroom routines, his vocabulary expanded tremendously. The teaching instruction and the structured curriculum certainly played a key role. I would highly recommend The Goddard School to friends and family!

Our oldest child was enrolled at Woodbridge Goddard from August 2011 to June 2014. We switched to Lakeridge Goddard due to some red flags under the previous owners of Woodbridge Goddard and it was night and day at that time. Later in 2014, the owners of Lakeridge Goddard purchased Woodbridge Goddard and worked tirelessly to catch it up to the speed and standards of Lakeridge Goddard. The turnaround has been incredible to witness, and they did so with new and a few previous staff members to make the transition as easy as possible and to have as little an impact on students as possible while making those necessary changes. We would happily enroll our children in Woodbridge Goddard again without hesitation (except now they have established friendships and relationships with teachers we do not want to disrupt).

Although what is currently going on with The Goddard School my husband and I have decided to keep our son in this school. Although I wished this didn't happen, we believe this is a isolated incident. We feel in our hearts that our son is in good hands and is getting a great education. He is happy and smiling when we drop him off and pick him up. Everyone involved has been very helpful there. Thank you to all the good caretakers, teachers, and staff at Goddard.

First I would like to commend the owners of the establishment they have always made my family and my son feel special. Second, if your a parent like me that has never put kids in a Virginia day care system and is worried about all the things you hear. Look no further we have tried them all the the Goddard School on Staples Mill is by far the best. Max

My son has been here for the past few months and I have never felt more at ease with any other school he has been in. He has learned so much since he has been at Goddard and he is actually excited to go to school everyday. I've already referred several of my friends to the school!

Since my daughter has been at this school, she has learned so much! I am really impressed with the curriculum and she is actually excited to come to school everyday. Her teachers, Ms. Nay and Ms. Mary Ann (the directors) and Owners have been wonderful and they are all very friendly. We came from another school where we had a bad experience so this has been a very positive change for us. I would highly recommend this school to any parent who is looking for a preschool.

There are five teachers that have been there for a while, all the rest about 10 are constantly quitting or leaving, including the directors. There are owners there daily in addition a husband, wife, and most recently their daughter. You have to wonder as a parent why your child constantly is seeing new people and your told little to othing about going on. Dont believe what owners try to sell you and investigate every single detail for yourself.

The Goddard School in Woodbridge is a great place to work! I've worked here for several years and it is such a friendly positive place. My coworkers are all very sweet and everyone loves working with children. I personally recommend the school to all of my friends who are parents of young children and believe it is a great place for any child to attend!

I am a military spouse and we move around a lot, since moving to VA we have found The Goddard School in Woodbridge and we love it! Our daughter is so happy with the caring and educated staff, the open communication from directors and the altogether family atmosphere! If you are looking for a school that you can feel comfortable with and trust, check out this school!!

I thought I would never be happy with any school caring for and teaching my baby, but I am thrilled to have my daughter at the Goddard School. The directors and teachers are wonderful and I am constantly amazed by the things my daughter is learning there. She has been there since she was an infant and I can't imagine sending her anywhere else.
