This school does not handle bullying or student concerns the right way. When students speak up, the administration often ignores them instead of taking action. It feels like they dont listen or protect us, and that makes the school environment unsafe.

To be honest, most teachers are really nice and understanding and do their jobs, but the bigger problem is admins They dont handle situations the way they should, and many students feel dismissed. The school needs to take responsibility and actually support the students they are supposed to care for.
Some of the admins openly play favorites and even cover up issues for certain students, instead of treating everyone fairly.

Justice High school is a flawed, filthy, disgraceful, depressing, crooked school.

The environment and community of the school feels unwelcoming and unsafe. It is extremely depressing to step into the school every morning and remain in the environment plagued with drug abuse, fights and other violence, and rude staff all day.

As mentioned before, there are fights almost every day, many of which end with the fire department being called and there is rampant drug abuse at Justice, especially vaping. The school also ignores bullying and does very little to solve it.

Overall, this school is toxic, unsafe, filthy, and terrible environment. Do not senfmd your children here!

Justice High School is known as one of the worst and most toxic high schools in the county. It has a history of rollercoaster morale. Staff here come and go because the school is and continues to be used as a "stepping stone" to advance into greener pastures and or central office. The past few years at the place have not been good with the school on the verge of losing accreditation and staff who cannot keep it together. Almost all the teachers here are not good and can't teach. I would not recommend sending your child here and I would not recommend working here either. The school community (feeder pyramid) here is very vindictive and demands forever loyalty. The moment you step away is when the community talks bad about you and treats you like an outcast, regardless of how good or bad you were as a staff member. The school is also heavily run by and full of politics. In this school community, it's always about who knows who and who is where in what position. The new principal guy is nice and is trying his best to clean things up, but he's got one heck of an uphill battle before things slightly "improve".

Prospective educators: please stay away from this school and feeder pyramid. There are better and healthier schools in FCPS where you can start and maintain your teaching career.

I'm not sure where GreatSchools is getting AP and other college prep courses data, or other ratin but my son is having the most exceptional experience I could ask for. He's a freshman and is being nurtured both academically, artistically, socially, and emotionally (every child at this school takes a Social and Emotional Learning test that gives you a great deal of information about how your child is feeling. It's given to parents for their private knowledge or discussion with their child). Any problems that do exist such as fighting happen in every high school - it just doesn't always show up on the school profile. Each school's administration decides whether to report incidents like fighting or bullying formally or not. Sad as it may seem, some do not so their profile looks better. The Justice HS administration is committed to transparency and open communication with parents and the community. My only wish is that it was less crowded, but an extension is being constructed for '24 or '25

Speaking of community, this school and the PTSA do all they can for any food insecurity at the Wolf Shack, where volunteers give students who need food or school supplies. Students who are fortunate not to need them do not think anything different or negative towards classmates who need it - that's the way it is. What I'm saying is that they're exposed to more than some in terms of the wide socioeconomic spectrum. There's not a snobby bone in Justice's body, ever though a large portion of students are in affluent families.

Academically, Justice offers BOTH AP courses and the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. The Justice pyramid is IB from Grades 3-12 so students are thinking and learning globally and broadly from an early age. Students can take any AP or IB courses, and they can go for the ultimate: the IB Diploma. Colleges eat this up, it helps your child grow into a global citizen, not just reading white American novelists (I love them, but...) instead, world literature, global history, and so on.

89 Seniors at Justice earned a 2022-2023 IB Diploma. Depending on the college, they can earn up to 1.5-2 years of college. Now THAT is cost-effective! And an application builder!

Extracurriculars at Justice HS are unbelievably wide-ranged. Sponsors/coaches work so students can experience sports to speech to volunteering to theater. The theater program is professional-level, with the most dedicated leader.

I say, GO WOLF PACK! We love Justice High School!

This year was horrifyingly terrible. Justice was once a great school with phenomenal staff and leadership, but ever since Maria Eck left it has become a toxic monstrosity of a mess from top to bottom. On the daily, 50-70 students roamed the halls like it was no ones business. Also, toxic jealousy ran rampant amongst the staff. More than half the staff this year has turned over because of this and because of the severe lack of support and bias from administration. The school has gotten so bad that parents and students are trying to transfer to other nearby schools. Some students are even trying to transfer to Bryant Alternative. It's that bad. Justice needs to shut down, be completely rebuilt, and have a whole new leadership at both the school and region level.

Honestly, theres very little attention paid to regular students. You either have to be really, really smart but then its a struggle just to get into the advanced classes. Teachers just go through the motions when giving out lessons.. theres very little passion in teaching. This school is failing at its main job of preparing students for college. Theres a feeling of being of lost in the crowd so to speak thats pervasive within school walls.

Justice high school especially the last year has really taken a left turn yes kids still play around but thats every school the teaching and learn were outstanding and the new principal does her job well

This is one of the smaller FCPS high schools and offers an excellent IB program which prepares students for college and careers. The small size allows students to participate in many sports and activities. The staff is committed to excellence. This website rating of 3 is misleading as it rates only AP participation. Justice offers few AP courses to fill the gaps that the IB doesn't cover.

This is an excellent neighborhood school with good teachers who care about the students and spend an incredible amount of time with them. Students who have college as a goal get excellent support and are admitted to some of the best schools in the country.

Many educators burned out. Administration failures. Poor test scores from a majority population of students who are not fluent English speakers with no working plan in place to bring them fluent. So much truancy that the surrounding streets during school looks like a mall on a Saturday. I could go on.

Our boys spent eight consecutive years at Stuart, so we learned a lot about the school and its teachers. With its IB program and AP classes, any student who is motivated can get a great education. There are dedicated and hardworking teachers and a safe environment (I can't remember one dangerous incident while our boys were there). The school has low scores because of it's large low income population, but its amazing diversity was a plus for our boys, not a problem.

My son attended this school and had a great academic and personally experience, the staff is always open for dialogue and understands every kid and every background situation that is so different in this area of Falls Church.The community work all together. The IB program is great and challenging for all the kids.

Both of my daughters attended Catholic school until high school, and then attended JEB Stuart to experience the diversity the school offered. Both were full IB candidates and went on to ACC and SEC schools. They both competed in varsity sports every season for four years, and one of them went onto compete in college. Unlike a lot of Northern Virginia schools, Stuart does have a lot of minority and disadvantaged students, which brings down their average tests scores, but the needs of the best and the brightest are met better than at lilly white schools where there are so many above average kids. Unlike some schools, Stuart manages to raise up the lowest, and push the highest even higher.
