My children have been at this school for four years. I have experienced all grades, K through 5. Although Id recommend this school, there are some major caveats to be aware of.
The test scores at this school are heavily biased- not only do they have a month of review homework prior to the standardized test, but they are now requiring the homework, removing recess from children who do not complete their required weekly homework. I followed up with administration and they stood up for this bizarre requirement.
Otherwise the school works well, but the populace is quite affluent, and therefore their activities and plans for school events are biased towards expecting a two parent household with a stay at home mom. Children are not allowed at back to school events, with no child care provided. Annual field trips cost between $25 and $60 per child, mindblowingly higher than any other school Ive experienced.
The gifted program is simply awful. My children were bored and I wasnt impressed with the main teacher. Her assistant was well liked by my kids though.

This is an amazing school with an involved and caring principle. The teachers are excellent. They work hard to foster an environment that teaches community responsibility, leadership, character, and kindness. Love this school.

This school has exceeded my expectations. This is my daughters 4th year at T. Clay Wood and each year has been wonderful. The principal, administration and teachers go above and beyond. The principal sends a weekly timberwolf times email to keep parents informed. I cannot say enough good things about T. Clay Wood.

I am very glad that my son went to T Clay Woods. The principal is very committed. I see him out watching the kids getting on the school bus, after the school bus are gone, he waves goodbye to the car rider. I do not attend every evening activities that the school organized but he is always there when I went. That probably explain why he lost so much weight after joining the school. :)
I am very happy that my 2nd grader got Mre Weaver as his teacher. She is a very good teacher too. My son says that she will ask each of them to go to her desk with their notebook and write 5 times each of the words they spelt wrongly during the spelling test each week. I love this idea of reinforcing learning method.

Great school, amazing teachers! My kids went there for 4 years and I am very sad because now they are moving up to middle school. I wish T. Clay wood would continue all the way through 8th grade. :) We'll miss everyone there!

The teachers at T.Clay Wood were selected by their oustanding principal, Mr. Buchheit, and they are excellent. The school also offers a huge selection of after-school clubs and activities.

T. Clay Wood is located in Nokesville, VA and most of the students live in Bristow. It opened the Fall of the 2011-12 school year. The school is brand new and state of the art. We have a fantastic principal, Andrew Bucheit. He was given the Distinguished Educational Leadership Award in 2011 by the Washington Post Company Educational Foundation. He put together a wonderful team of teachers, admin and faculty at T. Clay, they are a Prince William County School of Excellence, the volunteers are amazing and this is a stellar community to live in. We are moving and my kids will miss the T. Clay Wood family very much!
