We have had the pleasure of entrusting both our daughter and son to The Nest Academy in Lorton for over four years, including both the school year and summer camp sessions. From the very beginning, this preschool has exceeded our expectations in every way.

The environment at The Nest Academy is wonderfully diverse, creating a rich and inclusive space where children learn to appreciate differences and develop empathy from a young age. We always felt confident that our children were in a safe, nurturing, and loving setting where their well-being was the top priority.

What truly sets The Nest Academy apart is how fun and engaging the learning experience is. The teachers and administration put their heart and soul into teaching the children, going above and beyond to ensure each child feels valued and supported. Their dedication is evident in everything they do, creating an educational atmosphere that sparks curiosity and creativity. Our kids looked forward to going to school every day, which is a testament to the warm and welcoming culture fostered by the staff.

Thanks to the strong foundation they received at The Nest Academy, both of our children entered elementary school well ahead of their peers, especially in reading, writing, and social skills. They adapted easily to the new challenges, demonstrating confidence and enthusiasm in their learning.

Not impressed with this school. Short sharp communication to the children, comes across uncaring. Same communication style with the parents; unprofessional at best. There is no attempt to engage with the parents or children to build a relationship with which to benefit the child. Children are ushered in like live stock and three year olds are reprimanded for ‘refusing to write’... a three year old who struggles to color in. How is this place still open?

i went there in 2011 during the summer program when i was going to 5th grade. I was not a kid who got in trouble but when another kid acted out all of the 'older' kids had to write i will not..... 50 times on a sheet of paper. we did they same old boring schedule each week. swimming, karate, going bowling, doing school work, and getting minimal time to actually play and have fun. The teachers were very nice to certain students who never caused trouble. My mother had said that they charged to much each week just to do some boring old stuff.

My children went to the Nest Academy. They were very well prepared for kindergarten. Teachers are kind and loving. Management has always been accessible and there to greet you every morning. Letters, shapes, numbers, poems were taught very early on. It is a safe environment where children not only play, but learn a lot. By the time my kids left at 5 years old, they could read & do basic math well above their peers when they started kindergarten. This is a great school and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for quality day care.

My son loves it. For me it's the most important. And he learns a lot too! I would really recommend it to friends.
