Look, it’s an okay school, but some of the teachers… I’ve had TERRIBLE experiences with particularly math teachers. Here’s the thing, I genuinely enjoy math, but the terrible teachers I’ve had have made it living hell. Complete disregard for students when they struggle-for example. Student asks a question because they’re confused->teacher decides that the student is clearly stupid and cannot be helped, often responding along the lines of “well, just understand it then.” Not how it works guys. Many offer extra time outside of school for help, but most of them are just genuinely unhelpful. THIS IS NOT JUST ME. I know a plethora of students who have voiced this opinion, and it’s getting ridiculous. Especially because a couple of these teachers are apparently well liked and respected by other staff, yet all of the students agree that they are not good teachers. Weird, huh. Anyway, I promise I’m not trying to bash the school, it’s a pretty okay school otherwise, but some of the teachers are just not high quality.

My son graduated with the Class of 2024. Through his time at CVHS he's had zero teachers that he had problems with, and several the he developed a good rapport with.

CVHS is a pretty big school, so they may not be able to individually drive each student to the pinnacle of possible success, but they do provide the opportunities for students to do that themselves. There are heaps of clubs, and AP classes, and special interest classes available to students. If your student goes here, they will have the choice of passively coasting along doing whatever level of class they want to do that meets the criteria for graduation, or they will have the choice of actively pursuing a specific path. Whether that's through a more challenging course load that includes advanced college-level courses, like AP classes, or dual-enrollment classes that provide credit for attending actual college classes, or even through programs with the various county "Academies" that provide job-ready training in the trades, IT, and culinary arts, among others.

If your student is willing to put in the work to be successful, CVHS will provide the opportunities, but they won't drag them kicking and screaming to success.

This school is okay for the most part. However, I feel as if they don't care for their students as much as they say. My stepdaughter went here for 2 years before switching schools because of the kids being mean. She said students often glorify being mean and rude to others and even push them to do things they don't want, which was a big issue for her. I've been in this girl's life since she was 4 and the drastic turn she had when she entered this high school was awful, her mother and I went through so much to find ways to help her, and switching schools was the best thing for her. Her mood has improved so much. I really believe that the school needs an evolution in the way the students treat each other.

School is okay, all the teachers are fine except for the history and science teachers. There is only ONE history teacher that really cares and the rest are all bad. They put a disrespectful amount of pressure and workload on students causing them to be stressed 24/7. There are absolutely no good biology and chemistry teachers here. Absolutely disheartening to see. The teachers don’t care and you can see it. Honestly needs a lot of work.

This school has taken 2 of my daughter's from 9th to graduation (I hope). I've enjoyed almost everything about this school. Teachers, administrators, other students and parents has made the entire 6 year experience incredible.

This school is a cut above. We had our children at Robinson for awhile but they finished at Centreville. This school is the best we’ve seen. We truly believe this school is the best in the county!

Unlike my current school, this school supports every student, especially the ones who struggle with school. Teachers do not just focus on the students who are in the top 1% of the school.

This school is incredible! I really felt at home here. The environment is very relaxed, and everyone is so encouraging. I always felt like I had support from my teachers and people who I didn't know very well even if I was struggling with a concept. I was always excited and inquisitive to learn new things because my teachers were so kind and their teaching style was suitable for most students. Besides academics, there are many clubs and sports to join. I can guarantee that there is a sport/club/activity that is meant for any student.

It's really incredible when my child wants to go to school and learn. Centreville is really making an effort this year. My child is doing very well. There are honestly such sweet kids there.The school is doing an amazing job in preparing children. Very accepting school. So many sports and clubs to join!

Nothing but good things to say about this school; excellent academics and administration. Involved parents and student body. My child is thriving there and doing well in high school. Good selection of AP classes, too.

Most of the teachers are very helpful and understanding as well as all of the staff. The student body is friendly and spirited. Also, it is a school built well into the community and highly involved with the neighborhoods around.

CVHS is an amazing school. I have taught here for the past few years, and I can say without exaggeration that the faculty feels like a family to me. The administration supports its teachers fully. I have taught at three different schools, and this is the school that I feel works as the most cohesive unit that I have ever encountered. Students feel cared for and like they have all the options in the world. I am not a parent, but if I were, I would send my students here without hesitation!

We are a military family that have lived in many different parts of the country. We have experienced differing levels of 'education' along the way. We have graduated 2 kids from this school and the 3rd one just entered it. I find that the staff and administration works very easily with parents and looks out for the general welfare of the students. They work to ensure that we are preparing students for the real world. Many of the students graduate and pursue higher education at top notch universities. They provide tools for the students that were never offered in other schools that we have attended. One child has a learning disability that I had to fight the school in another state to address, while here they worked tirelessly and effortlessly to ensure that my child succeeded. He has developed strategies that have allowed him to excel!

I would highly recommend the school for is academic preparation and community involvement!

This high school is top notch. My daughter, now in 11th grade, has received a phenomenal education and has met wonderful friends here. I truly can't say enough about how happy we are to have her at this school!

As a military family, we just moved in this past summer. My daughter started her Freshman year at Centreville. Our experience has been nothing but positive. She got involved in Band immediatly and completely loves it. She is an honors student and I feel she is getting a quality education here.
